Louis' POV
I woke up with a lightness in my chest I hadn't felt in a long time. Today was the day. After weeks of waiting and planning, I was finally going to see the ring I'd been designing and customizing for Claire.
Ever since she left the old one behind and walked out, the thought of giving her the perfect ring, one she'd never have to take off had been living freely in my mind.
I had spent multiple late nights on the phone with the jeweler, second-guessing stones and settings, changing my mind and changing it back again.
This wasn't just about her favorite color or making it purple. I wanted something elegant, undeniable. A ring that would make any man looking at her from across the room instantly know she was married. Taken. Mine.
If everything went according to plan, I would be able to successfully prove myself before the three month ultimatum she gave me and propose properly.
