Chapter 172 - Chapter 172: She’s Just an Old-Fashioned Young Lady

After Kaguya and Hayasaka returned home, the young lady invited her maid to take a bath with her.

The bathroom in the Shinomiya mansion was as large as a small swimming pool, forget two people, even twenty people could fit inside.

Naturally, Hayasaka would not refuse her mistress, especially since she had wanted to take a bath too.

The two entered the water and began soaking.

However, Kaguya found it very strange that her maid had been holding her phone and messaging someone the entire time.

She frowned slightly.

"Hayasaka, what are you doing?" Kaguya asked, gradually approaching her.

Soaking in the bath, Hayasaka kept her fingers tapping away at the screen.

She raised her head. "I'm chatting with the Boss."

Kaguya was instantly stunned.

'Hmm???'

A somewhat annoyed expression appeared on her face.

"Why are you chatting with Kamisaka-kun?!" Kaguya asked, trying to see what Hayasaka was messaging Yuto about.

Hayasaka dodged her. "Kaguya-sama, peeking at someone else's chat is very impolite."

Her calm words made the young lady extremely angry for a moment, but in the next instant, she realized something.

"How can you chat with Kamisaka-kun?" Kaguya asked in confusion.

Tapping the screen with one hand, Hayasaka used her other hand to guard against her mistress trying to snatch the phone.

"You can add the Boss as a LINE friend using his phone number," she said calmly. "I've already added him."

Kaguya's expression immediately changed.

"When?!" she asked with a fair bit of nervousness.

"When we left the small restaurant," Hayasaka said flatly.

Kaguya's cheeks puffed up, and the way she looked at Hayasaka gained a bit of hostility.

"Hayasaka, you don't have some other thoughts about Kamisaka-kun, do you?" Her voice carried a hint of gloom and a touch of interrogation.

The calm maid directly nodded. "Hmmmm... after all, the Boss is outstanding in every aspect. As long as a girl is normal, it would be normal for her to have thoughts about the Boss. I'm a normal girl too, you know"

Hayasaka's calm expression made it impossible to tell whether she was telling the truth or not.

Regardless, Kaguya felt very uncomfortable.

Her mood sank, and her heart tightened as though something were tugging at it.

A surge of anger rose up from nowhere, immediately turning into hesitation and timidness.

Hayasaka glanced at her mistress, several ripples flashing through her eyes.

"Does Kaguya-sama have no feelings for the Boss?"

Her cool words made Kaguya, who had just been feeling upset, become nervous like a startled squirrel.

"Ah! Hayasaka, what are you saying?! I-I don't!" Kaguya hurriedly waved her hands, splashing water all around her.

Hayasaka lightly shook her hair, glancing sideways at her mistress. "I see. That's truly a pity. I actually feel that Kaguya-sama and the Boss are quite well matched."

The emotional words made Kaguya's nervous expression become even more restless.

Her blush deepened, and her movements became unbalanced, like a robot that had lost control.

"How could you think that, Hayasaka! I... I, the boss and I... Kamisaka-kun and I, are we really... really that well matched?"

Hayasaka watched as Kaguya's expression went from denial to shy anticipation.

The corners of her mouth curled up slightly, and she let out a faint sigh in her heart.

"That is how I feel, but since milady does not like the idea, then forget it," she said with a little regret.

"Eh?! Why should we just forget it?! Ugh! I-I didn't say anything! Fine, forget it then!" Kaguya had unconsciously followed her true feelings and blurted out what was in her heart.

But the moment she said it, she realized something was wrong and hurriedly tried to cover it up again.

This made Hayasaka inwardly want to laugh.

"Wait! Hayasaka, don't change the subject! Weren't you saying that you had feelings for the boss? How did this get turned onto me?!" Kaguya naturally realized her own embarrassment.

Competitive as she was, she would not allow herself to continue like this.

She hurriedly seized on the previous topic and launched a counterattack against her maid.

But it had very little effect.

Hayasaka merely sighed helplessly. "But I feel like the boss doesn't have any feelings for me."

Her deliberate words made Kaguya's complexion improve considerably.

"Th-then there's nothing that can be done," Kaguya said haltingly, with a hint of relief.

Hayasaka was helpless.

For a moment, she felt a little hurt. "Honestly, I thought Kaguya-sama would at least comfort me a little. I didn't expect you to say something like that."

"There's no helping it! Some things can't be solved just by comforting someone." Kaguya slapped at the surface of the water, her face still faintly red.

The master and servant continued soaking in the bath.

After a while, Kaguya spoke.

"That LINE thing—why couldn't I find it on my phone?" She had been searching all over her phone but simply could not find the app, finally decide to ask her maid.

"Oh, that's because your phone is too old, Kaguya-sama. It can't support LINE."

Hayasaka's calm words made Kaguya freeze.

Her mind instantly reacted, recalling Yuto's gaze back in the restaurant.

"Just now... Kamisaka-kun... was he..." she stammered, her words mixed with a young girl's hard-to-describe feelings.

But the person facing her completely ignored those feelings, even stepping on them!

"Well, if I were Kamisaka-kun, I would definitely think Kaguya-sama was weird too."

Kaguya instantly froze.

Her eyes became unfocused, as if she had received a serious blow!

...

At the restaurant, after Yuto accepted Hayasaka's LINE friend request, the two chatted for a while.

It was basically just polite small talk, nothing particularly important.

As for Utaha, she really had sent a huge pile of complaints and grievances, putting Yuto in a rather good mood.

After a short while, the King of Heroes entered the restaurant with Siduri.

He was in extremely high spirits!

Sweeping his eyes around the room, he saw that Enkidu was not there and inexplicably let out a sigh of relief.

This made Yuto feel a little strange.

Weren't the two of them good friends?

Yuto was surprised to discover some redness and swelling on Gilgamesh's body, he looked as though he had been beaten up.

Yuto found this a little strange.

'Who would dare beat up this guy?'

Gilgamesh noticed Yuto's gaze, and his expression stiffened.

"Hey! Kamisaka, staring at a king like that is very rude, you know?!" the proud king declared.

Standing obediently beside him, Siduri had a slight smile on her face, seemingly amused by her king.

Yuto smiled with a little embarrassment.

Being stared at for that long would make anyone uncomfortable.

"Sorry, sorry."

Gilgamesh's expression finally calmed. "Very well. This king shall forgive your rude conduct this once," he said with extreme generosity, giving a broad wave of his hand.

Yuto smiled. "Would you like something to eat, then?"

The proud king pondered briefly. "Hmm why not. Yesterday I was unable to taste your cooking, so today is just the right time to make up for that regret! Bring out your finest dish and let this king appraise it!"

Even when ordering food, Gilgamesh still carried an air of arrogance.

Yuto nodded, then looked toward Siduri.

If he remembered correctly, the retainer had not tasted the restaurant's food either.

"Siduri, what about you?"

"Eh? Me? There's no need for me. I still have to continue serving the king."

"Enough nonsense! Official duties were busy today, and you haven't eaten either, have you? This king orders you to eat here. As this king's retainer, if you collapsed from hunger, that would be an insult to this king."

Siduri had wanted to refuse, but Gilgamesh interrupted her forcefully and overbearingly.

Although he was an exceedingly proud king, it was undeniable that he cared for and loved his retainers, territory, and people.

The last time Yuto and the others had visited his world, the sight of the King of Heroes standing beneath the starry sky, filled with gratification and love as he introduced Uruk, was enough to show he was truly a good king.

Hearing his words, Siduri's expression became slightly helpless.

"In that case, Boss, please simply prepare something light for me," she requested with a gentle smile.

Yuto nodded to show he understood and walked into the kitchen.

"Hey! King of Heroes, come drink with me!" At the table, Iskandar laughed loudly and invited Gilgamesh over.

The King of Conqueror was drinking and chatting with Waver.

As kings with different but mutually admired ways of kingship, drinking together would naturally be satisfying.

"Hmph! Very well. Since you have made a request of this king, then i should naturally agree out of pity."

Although he said it in a roundabout way, Gilgamesh stood up and walked toward them.

Perhaps this was what people called saying one thing while doing another, AKA Tsundere!

Siduri followed him.

"Siduri, you should relax a little too. From now on, when you are here, there is no need to be overly bound by the etiquette between king and retainer," Gilgamesh said lightly after sitting down.

He knew she was tired after working all day, as her king, he naturally ought to show consideration for his subordinates.

"Thank you for your consideration, my king. If you need anything, please call for me," Siduri bowed slightly.

She chose to sit beside Lucoa at the bar.

The moment she sat down, she let out a soft sigh that sounded relaxed and comfortable.

After being busy all day, being able to rest for a moment truly made her feel extremely relaxed.

"You must be tired," Lucoa smiled at her.

Siduri returned the smile. "Serving the king is my duty. Whether I am tired or not does not matter to me."

"Eh—how admirable."

"Not at all. My name is Siduri. May I ask how I should address you?"

"Just call me Lucoa."

Gentle by nature and fond of humans, Lucoa quickly began conversing with Siduri.

While the two talked, Tohru occasionally cut in with a few comments as well.
