Chapter 91 - Sneak Attack~

The two Fox-faced Shrine Spirits left an afterimage in their original spot, passing through the torii gate and rushing straight down the clean and tidy stone steps at a speed too fast for the human eye to catch.

As they ran rapidly downwards, the scenery on both sides quickly retreated.

Suddenly, the space directly in front of them rippled.

The moment the two Shrine Spirits approached, they leaped forcefully with their legs, diving headfirst into it with a swish.

"Finish this as quickly as possible, do not delay!"

"Strike directly and obliterate a few, forcing the remaining Evil Spirits to retreat on their own!"

The instant they rushed out of the Barrier, the two Shrine Spirits gathered power in their palms, then raised their hands flat, aiming their palms forward.

Just as they were preparing to obliterate the strongest Evil Spirit they sensed, the scene outside the Barrier made them stop in their tracks immediately.

"Why did they come out at this time? Are they extremely confident in their own strength, or did they simply not perceive the danger?"

Did they really treat the two Spirits and the Angel here as thin air?

Mitsue Takeda stared fixedly at them, the two Angel's Feathers floating around her becoming restless due to her emotional fluctuations.

Seeing her former enemies appear once again, even if they were not the main culprits, it was difficult for her to face them calmly.

"Just looking at them tells you that the situation outside the Barrier has exceeded their expectations. They clearly don't know exactly what happened out here," Rom analyzed.

Rom also felt a bit surprised by the appearance of the Shrine Spirits.

However, he didn't care too much. Perhaps because the Status of the Spirits and the Angel was too high, the Mountain God and its attendants simply couldn't detect them.

"Are they enemies? Should we catch them?"

A trace of curiosity flashed in Miko Yotsuya's eyes.

Were those two the Shrine Maidens serving the Mountain God? Should she ask Mika Misono to intervene and stop them? The two Spirits nearby didn't seem to have any intention of making a move either.

Miko Yotsuya secretly glanced at the backs of Mika Misono and the two Spirits.

"Unexpected intruders..."

The Goat-Headed Spirit from hell turned its head to look, sizing up these two uninvited guests with considerable surprise.

The Three-headed Monster, which was chewing on an Evil Spirit, glanced over, paused its eating motion, and raised its nose to sniff at them.

Before long, it understood their background.

These two Shrine Spirits were transformed from human souls and were currently being controlled by some kind of ritual.

If not for this reason, these two souls, which had not fallen into Evil Spirits, could actually have headed to the Promised Land of the Dead on their own.

And judging from perception, their soul strength was higher than ordinary souls. This was most likely because they possessed special abilities during their lifetimes, making them relatively unique.

One of the Shrine Spirit had a higher soul strength, and its power was relatively much stronger than the other.

But that was all. Even if these two Shrine Spirits went all out, they would not be able to harm them or the lady beside them.

The Goat-Headed Spirit and the Three-headed Monster looked to the right together.

They saw Mika Misono pull out the Golden Spear planted in the ground, taking a step forward, eager for a fight.

It seemed there was no need for them to take action now.

"Uh..."

The two Shrine Spirits trembled, taking a step back in unison as they sized up Mika Misono with frightened and uncertain eyes.

They knew about Spirits; their formidable power represented hell, so even the Mountain God had to take a detour when encountering them.

Because the Mountain God was just a title, not even counting as a god. Running into these genuine spirits from hell was like a counterfeit meeting the real deal.

However, these spirits usually only operated in densely populated areas. How could they have come into the deep mountains of this desolate wilderness?

Blocking the doorway was simply too much.

Also, why did that pink-haired woman give them a feeling even more terrifying than these two Spirits?

Seeing Mika Misono make a move, the two Shrine Spirits tensed up all over. They stared at Mika Misono as if they had seen a ghost, slowly backing away.

Unable to bear the trembling of her soul, one of the Shrine Spirits yelled out an unknown shout:

"Don't come over!"

Currently, after Mika Misono had Gabriel the Archangel's Status superimposed on her, Michael's Status officially displayed the might it was supposed to possess.

As the most militant Archangel in the Bible, Michael once annihilated the Assyrian army of 185,000 that invaded Jerusalem overnight, and frequently battled and slaughtered Satan; his might was on par with the Great Demon King.

Besides this, he had another identity; that was the Angel who counted the souls of men during the final judgment, guided the dead towards the Other Shore, and judged the fate of people after death.

A starved camel is still bigger than a horse. Even if the current Mika Misono was just a Projection, she was not someone these two Fox-faced Attendants could rival. Moreover, they were both dead; this was practically running right into the muzzle of a gun.

"I didn't let you leave."

Seeing the two Shrine Spirits wanting to escape, Mika Misono remained expressionless, and the spear in her hand was instantly thrown out!

Swish!

The spear brushed past the cheek of one of the Shrine Spirits. In an instant, it pierced through the barrier isolating the real world, nailing into the stone steps inside with a boom, causing the mountain inside to tremble violently.

A bowl-sized hole was even left on the Barrier.

Half a breath later, the diameter of the hole expanded to two meters, and the entire Barrier showed signs of completely collapsing.

Staring at the broken barrier, Rom blinked.

He felt like he had worked for nothing.

This massive commotion.

It caused the Mountain God, who was wandering in front of the shrine waiting for the Sacrifice to arrive, to turn its head abruptly. The white fox shell subsequently cracked open, revealing the terrifying entity wrapped inside.

With the disguise gone, the back of the Mountain God was covered in human hair, and its abdomen was hung with densely packed bells. The six pairs of human arms growing there clasped their hands together, praying for something like a believer.

Its thick limbs supported the massive body like a fox. That giant, ferocious human face revealed an anxious expression, and a pair of basketball-sized bells serving as eyes darted around uneasily.

The Mountain God bared its mouth full of fangs towards the bottom of the mountain, speaking some obscure and difficult-to-understand language.

At the bottom of the mountain.

The two Fox-faced Attendants, who originally hadn't dared to move recklessly, suddenly became restless. They stared at Mika Misono, who was slowly walking towards them, the hostility in their eyes growing increasingly dense.

Seeing that Mika Misono had no weapon in her hand, one of the Fox-faced Attendants instantly sprang up. She raised her hands and blasted the secretly gathered energy towards Mika Misono.

"Careful!!!"

Miko Yotsuya, Mitsue Takeda, and Rom couldn't help but warn.

The next moment.

Pfft!

Half of the body of this Shrine Spirits who launched the attack shattered, her flesh and blood scattering in the air!

But the one who struck was not Mika Misono, but the other Shrine Spirits.

They saw her pose her hands in a gesture that made it impossible for Mitsue Takeda and Rom to remain calm, killing her own companion in one blow.

Ring, ring, ring!

A sudden ringing of bells sounded abruptly. Without giving anyone time to react, a massive shadow enveloped Mika Misono's petite body. A Claw that could easily slice a person into several pieces reached out, grabbing towards the young girl below.

"To actually pull off a Sneak Attack."

Facing the Mountain God right at hand, a red light flashed through the depths of Mika Misono's eyes, and soon after, her right hand made a sword-drawing posture.

Clang!

A light like Fresh blood instantly enveloped the entire mountain.
