Chapter 1 - Dark

.The Light in the Dark

In a small village near the city of Lucknow, there lived a girl named Ayesha. She was sixteen years old and studied in Class 10. Her father was a rickshaw driver, and her mother worked in other people's houses. Life was not easy for her family. Some days they had enough food, and some days they did not.

Ayesha loved studying. Her favorite subject was English. She believed that education was the only way to change her life. Every morning, she woke up at 5 a.m., helped her mother clean the house, filled water from the hand pump, and then walked three kilometers to school.

Many people in the village said, "Why are you educating a girl so much? She will get married one day." But Ayesha's father always replied, "My daughter will become something big."

One year, her father met with an accident. He could not work for months. The family had no savings. Ayesha thought of leaving school to work in a factory in the city. She cried the whole night. Her dreams felt broken.

The next day, her English teacher, Mrs. Sharma, noticed her sadness. After listening to her story, Mrs. Sharma said, "Never give up. You are stronger than your problems." She helped Ayesha apply for a government scholarship.

For months, Ayesha waited for the result. She studied under a streetlight because there was no electricity at home. Mosquitoes bit her, and sometimes rain soaked her books. Still, she did not stop.

Finally, the scholarship result came. Ayesha had been selected. Her school fees were paid, and she also received money for books. It felt like a miracle.

She worked even harder. She passed her board exams with excellent marks. Her village celebrated her success. She became the first girl from her village to score above 90%.

Years passed. Ayesha completed her graduation and later became a teacher in her own village school. She wanted other girls to believe in themselves.

One day, while standing in her classroom, she said to her students:

"Life will test you. People may doubt you. But if you keep walking toward your dream, one day you will reach it."

Her father sat in the back of the classroom that day, tears in his eyes — not of sadness, but of pride.

Ayesha had learned one important lesson:

Darkness never stays forever. Even the smallest light can change everything.
