With that, he shouted down to the stage below:
"Mindy, someone's here to take your place,
you wanna come up?"
Boisterous laughter erupted from the men around them.
The young woman on the stage looked up helplessly.
The light had gone out of her eyes, and her movements to dodge the zombies had become mechanical.
However, someone quickly objected:
"Mr. Quinn, letting the new girl take over without letting her play with us first...
wouldn't that be a waste?
What if she doesn't know how to play and dies in less than two minutes?"
"Yeah, let her play with us for a bit."
"That woman, Belle, died almost as soon as she went down yesterday.
My heart still aches for her."
Seeing that his companions didn't want Nina Jacobs to enter the ring so soon, Seth Quinn could only say with feigned regret:
