Chapter 33 - Chapter 33. The Magic of the Elves and the Intact Gate

But Sylvar Crowe threw that thought out of his mind.

He had actually wanted to kiss Rory.

This was simply… did he really want to know how the word "death" was written?

Sylvar Crowe slowly squatted down again. A dark aura seemed to emanate from his body. He lowered his hand and began drawing circles on the ground to curse himself.

How could this be?

How could someone think something like that?

How did my dream become like this?

What happened?

How did it become like this?

At this moment, Rory Mercury squatted down in front of Sylvar Crowe. She lowered her head slightly and watched him drawing circles on the ground.

Her expression was filled with confusion.

"What does this mean?" she asked. "Is this some kind of magic?"

Sylvar Crowe immediately stood up.

His eyes were filled with tears.

"It's not important."

After saying this, Sylvar Crowe raised both hands and clapped once.

Immediately, the pages of the grimoire began to turn.

The pages flipped rapidly.

A spatial passage slowly appeared in front of him.

"Let's go," Sylvar Crowe said. "Our destination is the Forest of Elves."

Sylvar Crowe stepped forward.

Rory Mercury followed him.

The two of them passed through the spatial passage together.

In the next instant, they arrived outside the Forest of Elves.

Ever since the previous dragon attack, the elves had been living in a constant state of panic.

Sylvar Crowe stopped walking.

He looked toward the forest in front of him and thought carefully.

If we head directly into the center of the forest now, we might be attacked.

That would not be good.

After thinking about it for a moment, Sylvar Crowe began walking slowly toward the direction of the elf village.

While walking, Sylvar Crowe suddenly spoke.

"By the way, Rory."

"How long has it been since you returned to this world that day?"

Rory Mercury tilted her head slightly.

She thought for a moment.

"It has probably been about four days," she replied.

Sylvar Crowe fell silent.

He began calculating in his mind.

From the moment he returned to the base of the Black Bulls… to the moment he went to find Henry… to the moment Henry opened the new room… to the moment he escorted Henry back to his room… and then returned again to the newly created hall…

The entire process had taken about one hour.

Four days.

That meant the flow of time here was almost one hundred times faster.

Sylvar Crowe's expression changed slightly.

The speed of time flow here is terrifying.

After finishing this calculation, Sylvar Crowe and Rory Mercury arrived at the elf village.

Not long after entering the village, Sylvar Crowe met the chief of the elves.

At this time, Rory Mercury noticed an elf child standing nearby.

Her eyes lit up slightly.

She immediately walked over and began playing with the child.

Sylvar Crowe watched this scene.

He felt speechless for a moment.

The village chief is still standing here.

After all, he is the leader of the entire village.

Even if he is not very strong, ignoring him like this would still be inappropriate.

Sylvar Crowe stepped forward.

He greeted the Elf Chief politely.

"Where is Tuka?"

Even though Sylvar Crowe already knew that Tuka had gone to the Magic City, he still asked the question.

It was a form of courtesy.

A good opening sentence would make the following conversation easier.

"Tuka and Lelei went to the Magic City together to take the examination," the Elf Chief said.

"So that's how it is," Sylvar Crowe replied.

"No wonder we couldn't find them near the Gate."

His expression suddenly showed understanding.

The Elf Chief looked at Sylvar Crowe.

Then he spoke again.

"By the way, Tuka told me something."

"If you appear here again, it proves one thing."

"The artifact capable of traveling between worlds… the Gate… has already been controlled by you."

The Elf Chief's tone carried a trace of nervousness.

"Yes," Sylvar Crowe said.

"I have successfully taken control of the Gate."

He paused slightly.

Then he looked at the Elf Chief.

"Judging from your tone, it sounds like there is something you want to ask of me."

The Elf Chief hesitated for a moment.

Then he bowed deeply.

"Perhaps what I am about to say is somewhat shameless."

"If you have any needs in the future, please feel free to tell me."

"I hope that you can help the elves migrate to another world."

Sylvar Crowe frowned slightly.

"This world seems very safe," he said.

"Why would you want to migrate to another world?"

The Elf Chief slowly raised his head.

A fearful expression appeared on his face.

"Perhaps it is because we have lived too comfortably for too long," he said quietly.

"Our strength has not improved for a long time."

"If we elves had faced that dragon alone during the previous attack… none of us would have survived."

"I feel a deep sense of crisis because of that."

Sylvar Crowe silently thought about those words.

Born in hardship.

Die in comfort.

Only pressure can create motivation.

This principle applies everywhere.

"No problem," Sylvar Crowe said.

"If I discover another world that is relatively safe but not completely safe, I will bring you to see it."

"If it is suitable, the elves can migrate there."

"I will leave a projection of the Gate in that world so that you can travel between the two worlds at any time."

Sylvar Crowe paused.

"However, the existence of the Gate consumes a large amount of magic power."

"The world we choose should preferably possess a powerful source of magic power capable of supporting the Gate's long-term operation."

"Otherwise, if the Gate runs out of energy after you travel there and you cannot return, that would be extremely dangerous."

The Elf Chief bowed deeply once again.

"How shameful."

"You are the benefactor who saved us."

"Yet we are still asking you for help and forcing you to think so deeply for our sake."

"I am deeply grateful."

"Words cannot fully express my gratitude."

Sylvar Crowe raised his hand slightly.

"There is actually something I need the elves to help me with."

"I need a large amount of magic power."

"My grimoire has the ability to store magic power."

"All I need to do is seal the magic power inside the pages."

The Elf Chief immediately nodded.

"That is no problem."

"It is a small matter."

"I will gather all the elves immediately."

After the Elf Chief left to summon the villagers, Sylvar Crowe walked toward a nearby tree.

He leaned against the trunk.

Then he watched Rory Mercury playing with the elf child in the distance.

Half an hour later, the entire village gathered in the central square.

The Elf Chief stood in front of everyone and explained the situation.

Their benefactor needed magic power.

Therefore, he hoped everyone could contribute as much magic power as possible to Lord Sylvar Crowe.

Soon after, the elves lined up.

One by one, they began injecting their magic power into Sylvar Crowe's grimoire.

Sylvar Crowe sealed all of that magic power into a single page of the book.

However, very quickly, that page became completely full.

This was something Sylvar Crowe had never encountered before.

After calculating briefly, he realized that approximately one thousand units of magic power had been sealed onto that single page.

It could no longer contain any more.

Sylvar Crowe immediately turned to a new page.

He asked the elves to continue transferring their magic power into the newly opened page.

It seems the pages of the grimoire also have a limit.

If the magic power exceeds one thousand units, the page might not be able to endure it.

However, when sealing artifacts, the situation might be different.

After all, something like the Gate had already been sealed by Sylvar Crowe.

It was impossible that the total magic power required to seal the Gate was only one thousand units.

The Gate simply did not resist the sealing.

After more than ten minutes passed, Sylvar Crowe had collected the magic power of the entire village.

The total amount reached approximately one thousand five hundred units.

Sylvar Crowe looked at the grimoire.

He had never fought a battle with such abundant magic power before.

His eyes lit up.

If he ever ran out of magic power in the future, he could simply visit the elves again.

He could obtain as much magic power as he wanted.

It truly was the endless energy source he had imagined.

After politely declining the Elf Chief's invitation to stay longer, Sylvar Crowe reopened the spatial passage.

He returned to Utopia together with Rory Mercury.

This time, the spatial passage opened directly beside the Gate.

Sylvar Crowe turned his head and called out to the nearby guards.

He asked them to move further away.

There were no traps set here this time.

There were no magic chains prepared in advance either.

But Sylvar Crowe looked down at the grimoire.

Inside the book, there were now one thousand five hundred units of magic power.

He had never fought a battle this rich before.

Sylvar Crowe flipped the grimoire to a blank page.

Then he immediately activated the Universal Seal.

In an instant, countless chains burst out from the pages of the book.

Those chains rushed forward and wrapped tightly around the Gate.

However, the Gate remained completely motionless.

Sylvar Crowe's heart skipped a beat.

Did something go wrong?

The magic power stored inside the grimoire began decreasing rapidly.

Slowly, extremely slowly, the Gate began moving upward.

The speed was so slow that it was almost impossible to notice.

But it was moving.

When Sylvar Crowe saw this, he finally breathed a sigh of relief.

"So it really is the true Gate," he muttered.

"It's not just a projection."

"Fortunately, it wasn't created by someone else, and no one is controlling it."

"Otherwise it wouldn't be my turn to control it."

About a minute later, the Gate was finally dragged into the blank page.

It transformed into an image inside the grimoire.

To be precise, there was now only one image of the Gate.

The two Gate images merged together into one.

The projection Sylvar Crowe had sealed earlier had originally appeared dim.

That was because the projection had been placed at the base of the Black Bulls rather than inside the grimoire.

After the real Gate was sealed, the dim projection image disappeared.

Of course, as the controller of the projection, Sylvar Crowe could still sense its existence.

This proved something.

There was only one real Gate.

The one he sealed previously had merely been a projection.

Sylvar Crowe thought about it carefully.

Fortunately, he sealed the Gate on Earth's side first.

If he had sealed the Gate on this side instead…

He would never have been able to return to this world.

If the transit world had been set as Earth instead, that would have been a terrible arrangement.

This world was simply far better as a transit world.

As expected.

All of this was Sylvar Crowe's wisdom.

While Sylvar Crowe was still daydreaming, Rory Mercury suddenly spoke beside him.

"Dear."

"Is this how you sealed the Gate on Earth before?"

The moment Sylvar Crowe heard the word "dear," his entire body felt uncomfortable.

He immediately changed the subject.

"You're about to travel to another world."

"Aren't you excited?"

"Of course not," Rory Mercury said calmly.

"I'm not excited because I have already visited another world."

"You should still be excited," Sylvar Crowe said.

"After all, every world is different."

Rory Mercury smiled slightly.

"Since my dear says so, I suppose I can look forward to it."

The moment Sylvar Crowe heard the word "dear" again, his entire body trembled.

Without wasting another second, he immediately released the Gate.

However, something strange happened.

The true body of the Gate remained sealed within Sylvar Crowe's grimoire.

What appeared in front of them was only a projection.

Of course, nobody else could tell the difference.

Only Sylvar Crowe, as the controller of the Gate, could distinguish the real Gate from its projections.

But that was not necessarily a bad thing.

In the future, he could create as many projections as he wanted.

Of course, that depended entirely on how much magic power he possessed.

Sylvar Crowe looked at the Gate in front of him.

Then he spoke slowly.

"The journey to another world begins."
