Letting out a small sigh, I answered the call.
Some people really couldn't wait until Monday.
"Hello?"
Silence answered me.
I frowned slightly.
"Who's this, plea....."
"Alicia."
I froze.
It was Alexander's voice.
"Alicia... I know you're still there."
I tightened my grip on the phone.
"Do you need anything, Alexander?" I asked quietly.
He let out a slow breath before speaking.
"I'll be returning to Velaridge City in an hour."
My breath hitched.
I didn't know why...
But it did.
"I know I was the one who caused all of this."
"And I know it'll be difficult for you to trust me again."
He paused.
"But I just hope that one day you'll find it in your heart to forgive me."
My fingers unconsciously tightened around the phone.
"I'm leaving now, not because I've stopped loving you..."
"...or because I've given up on you."
"I'm leaving because I understand that you need more time."
His voice had become noticeably quieter.
"Whenever you're ready..."
