After my shower, I went to Aimy's room, only to find that she was already awake. Maria had helped her get dressed and was holding her hand as they walked out.
"Good morning, Maria," I greeted with a smile.
"Good morning, Mrs Alicia."
The moment Aimy saw me, she let go of Maria's hand and ran straight toward me.
I bent down and scooped her into my arms.
"Did you sleep well, sweetheart?"
She nodded enthusiastically, wrapping her little arms around my neck as we headed downstairs together.
By the time we reached the dining room, breakfast had already been served.
Alexander wasn't there.
Since it was Monday, I assumed our usual routine had resumed—that he had already left for the company before we woke up.
Just as I was about to take my seat, I heard footsteps.
I looked up.
Alexander was descending the staircase, dressed in a perfectly tailored suit. His raven-black hair was neatly combed back, every strand in place, making him look as composed and refined as ever.
