Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: The Chosen of Three Eras

"Xiao Chen, come. Let the Soul Master awaken your martial soul."

"Bai Chen, it's your turn."

"Student Bai Chen, focus and steady your mind. Prepare for your martial soul awakening."

Called by different awakening masters, the Bai Chen of three different worlds nodded at the same time, excitement flashing in their eyes.

"Yes!"

After waiting six years, he was finally about to awaken his own martial soul.

Six years ago, because of an accident, he—once an ordinary college student—had transmigrated into the world of Douluo Continent.

But unlike typical transmigration, he had crossed over into three different eras at once:

Douluo I

Douluo II

Douluo III

Because the eras were different, his identity in each timeline also differed subtly.

In the Douluo I era, he was born in a village near the Star Dou Great Forest. His parents died in an accident when he was young, and he now lived with relatives.

In the Douluo II era, he became the orphan of a member of the Nine Treasure Glazed Tile Sect. Backed by such a powerful sect, his life was fairly comfortable—at least better than in the first era.

In the Douluo III era, he was the only son of a wealthy businessman in Skysea City. His father, who had him late in life, doted on him endlessly and granted nearly every request.

Overall, the later the era, the more privileged his background.

After transmigrating, what he had looked forward to most was the martial soul awakening at age six.

The core cultivation system of the Douluo Continent was the Soul Master system. In this world, age six determined one's fate. The martial soul awakened and one's innate soul power at that moment largely decided a person's upper cultivation limit.

If one didn't even have level-one innate soul power, then in terms of martial cultivation, that child was essentially finished.

Bai Chen didn't demand some overpowered martial soul.

His only wish was simple: to at least be able to cultivate.

In any era, Soul Masters stood above ordinary people. If he wanted a good life, awakening soul power was essential.

Under the guidance of those around them, the Bai Chen of all three eras made their preparations.

Seeing him ready, members of the Spirit Hall, elders of the Nine Treasure Glazed Tile Sect, and a Spirit Pagoda Spirit Master began their awakening ceremonies.

"Mm?!"

As soul power poured into his body, all three Bai Chens trembled, pain flashing across their faces.

The moment the awakening began, a powerful discomfort surged from deep within.

Because the awakened martial souls differed, the sensations in each era were different as well.

Douluo I

The first sensation was unprecedented clarity of mind.

The next moment, intense heat spread from his chest—yet at the same time, there was warmth, like being bathed in sunlight.

Heat and warmth, though related, shouldn't coexist like this. Yet both feelings manifested simultaneously.

As the strange contradiction intensified, countless red and golden light particles appeared in his vision. They rushed toward him intimately, gathering around his body.

Fire… and light elements?

Bai Chen instinctively realized the truth.

After the red and golden lights came a mysterious, indescribable force. He couldn't define it, only sense its nobility and overwhelming power.

Then, astonishingly, a new field of vision opened on his forehead—

He had grown a third eye.

Douluo II

Unlike the first timeline, this awakening was simple.

Pure, unbearable pain.

It felt as if his entire body were being torn apart. His blood boiled. His bones cracked. The world itself seemed to warp.

Golden fur erupted across his skin. His physique expanded visibly, growing stronger and broader in an instant.

Douluo III

This awakening brought the least physical pain.

Instead, it felt as though he had fallen into an ice cellar. A bone-deep chill spread from his soul.

Countless whispers echoed in his ears, tempting him toward corruption.

Finally, the whispers merged into a single strange voice:

"Dark Demon Evil God Tiger martial soul detected.

Kill. Devour. Plunder.

When you reach seven rings, the Evil God's divine trial will begin."

The voice faded. The icy sensation vanished instantly.

Strangely, the pain in the other two timelines disappeared at the same time, as though the entire ordeal had been a dream.

But the power surging through him proved otherwise.

He had truly awakened.

Not one—but three cheat-level martial souls:

Three-Eyed Golden Lion (Three-Eyed Golden Ni)

Golden-Furred Lion Mastiff

Dark Demon Evil God Tiger

Their Power

Three-Eyed Golden Lion

The Emperor's Auspicious Beast. Possesses dual ultimate attributes of fire and light, part Dragon God bloodline, capable of manifesting the Golden Dragon martial soul. Its spiritual attribute surpasses even the dual ultimates, and beyond that lies the transcendent power of fate.

Golden-Furred Lion Mastiff

Ancestor of canine and lion-type soul beasts. Born with the Dominance Domain. A ten-thousand-year Lion Mastiff could rival a 480,000-year Darkgold Dreadclaw Bear, suppressing even titled Douluo-level figures when careless.

Dark Demon Evil God Tiger

Possesses six attributes: evil, time, darkness, space, hurricane, and lightning. Carries the Evil God's inheritance and an innate powerful domain. At 100,000 years, it could simultaneously confront two top-tier 100,000-year soul beasts. Its ultimate skill, Life-and-Death Arena, nearly killed Tang San even after completing the Sea God's Seven Trials.

Each of these beasts was a "chosen of their version"—top-tier existences in their respective eras. Normally, such creatures could never become human martial souls.

Perhaps because he was a transmigrator, Bai Chen had awakened all three.

Logically, he should have been ecstatic.

But for some reason… his feelings were complicated.

In Douluo I, Bai Chen blinked his newly grown third eye, struggling to adjust to the strange new vision.

In Douluo II, Bai Chen swung his right fist, feeling overwhelming strength surge through his body.

In Douluo III, Bai Chen awkwardly retracted the wings and scorpion-like tail behind him and smiled sheepishly at the Spirit Master.

"…."

Wasn't the timing of these awakenings… a little problematic?
