Chapter 29 - The promise to Holy Hand Beggar King

Liu Bhok Ki began to teach the child to calm down self, the initial lessons of Samadhi, and slowly he

guide Han Beng to master himself and also master the tremendous power contained within himself.

After the child begins to calm down and begins to be able to control that tremendous energy, Liu Bhok Ki invited him to continue his journey.

Mighty Eagle Liu Bhok Ki invited Han Beng who became his student to a hill in the Yellow River valley. The hill is known as Golden Phoenix Hill. This hill was just small and they made one hut at the top and from this top they could see the Yellow River flows at the foot of the hill. View on the hill it was very beautiful, a hill filled with bushes and forests. The nearest village is located on foot of the Hill, on the shore of the Yellow River. The hill itself is quiet, not inhabited by humans because it is a wild forest.

Upon arriving at the summit of Golden Phoenix Hill, Liu Bhok Ki, assisted by Han Beng, cut down trees and bamboo, building a quick shelter for them. Once finished, Liu Bhok Ki called out to Han Beng, who knelt on the dry dirt floor, facing the old man sitting on a homemade wooden bench.

"Han Beng, you have told me all your story, and now you are an orphan without parents or family. Are you determined to learn from me?"

Han Beng was a resilient child. When he and his teacher searched for his parents' boat around the deadly vortex, he only found Giok Cu's parents, who were injured. From the Bu family, he learned that his parents had died in a commotion when the martial art people fought over the young dragon and later fought over him and Giok Cu.

Only for a moment did he cry, and after that, he didn't ever cry again, understand how futile it is to cry and mourn. Even now, his teacher reminds him that he is an orphan with no family left, his heart feels like it's being squeezed, however, he did not want to be carried away by sadness and emotion.

"Master, i am determined to become Master's disciple, and i will obey all commands and instructions from Master"

"Is that true? You promised to fulfill every request of mine as condition of studying with me?"

"Disciple not only promised, disciple even swore to obey all orders at the risk of my life. Master not only my teachers, but also the one who saving my life."

"Good! Then listen carefully to my order. You will learn martial arts from me for five years. After five years, I will hand you over to Holy Hand Beggar King. He will be your second teacher, and i have promised him that you will be his disciple after mine for five years. He is the one who protects us, saves us, and gives us the opportunity to escape the clutches of those who seek to seize you. Are you willing to be Holy Hand Beggar King's disciple for five years after you have been mine for five years?"

"Disciple can do it!"

"Now for the second thing, and this might be hard for you. Please know that i also lost my family terribly, and i will never be able to forget the heartache of losing that family..."

Liu Bhok Ki glanced at the head inside the large bottle of liquor.

When he took Han Beng away, he first retrieved the two heads, which he had hidden somewhere near the river, and then brought them to the top of Golden Phoenix Hill.

When Han Beng first saw the heads, he was shocked and horrified, but he didn't dare ask. Seeing how carefully his master cared for the two heads and how displeased he seemed to be when he approached the two terrifying objects, he was overcome with curiosity. Now, seeing his master speak of resentment and glance at the two heads, Han Beng couldn't contain his curiosity.

"Master, does your resentment have anything to do with those two heads?"

Liu Bhok Ki was a hard-hearted and harsh-tempered warrior, honest yet arrogant. If his heart hadn't already been set on accepting Han Beng as his disciple, and he already knew his disciple's valiant and steadfast character, he would certainly have been offended and angry that someone would dare to mention the two heads.

Now, his eyes flashed with a momentary gleam, but then he took a deep breath and nodded. Then he picked up the wine bottle on the table, which held a beautiful, pale woman's head. He pressed his lips to it, as if about to kiss the woman's lips, which were grimacing in pain.

"This... This is the head of my beloved wife..."

Han Beng's eyes widened and he saw his teacher's eyes welling with tears! He shuddered silently. Why was his master's wife killed, and why was his master keeping her head in that wine bottle? His master seemed to love his wife so much, but why was that love displayed in such a cruel and inhumane way?

Liu Bhok Ki seemed to read his student's unspoken question, and he continued.

"And that hanging is the head of my wife's lover!"

Han Beng felt even more shocked as he stared at the hanging head. Even more terrifying was this head, the head of a handsome, pale young man. While the beautiful woman's head in the bottle merely grinned and remained motionless, this hanging head moved and spun around on the end of the small rope. Its eyes bulged in anger, and its mouth was half open.

Then Han Beng saw something he had never seen before, and it made him even more horrified.

His teacher poured wine from the bottle containing the head into a cup, then raised the cup to the hanging head as if offering it to them. He drank from the cup, seemingly enjoying it! Han Beng shuddered! In his inexperienced mind, a terrifying suspicion arose, one he denied in his heart. His teacher was a great, mighty warrior who had faced mortal danger to help him. Could his master do such a cruel thing?

"But... But why did Master do that...?"

"They are my wife and my best friend, they have betrayed me, destroyed my happiness by committing adultery! I killed them and kept their heads, so they can see how they have destroyed my happiness!"

"Ahhhhh...!" Han Beng lowered his head, his heart rebelling. He strongly disagreed and wanted to criticize his teacher, but he didn't dare, because he secretly felt sorry for his teacher, who had been suffering from immense mental anguish for who knows how many decades.

The two heads were still young, so this incident must have happened when his master was still young. It must have been decades since this happened, and during that time, his master had never felt happy in his life.
