I RUN TO MY CAR. Luckily, it's the middle of the night, so the only person who sees me flee is the same guard who's usually posted up there.
Christopher, I remember.
"Miss Willow? Is everything all right?" he asks as I flee past him.
I feel his questioning eyes follow me, but I don't have even a second to respond. Maybe Dominik thinks I'm lying about leaving. That I don't have the courage to follow through.
He's wrong.
I dig for the keys in my purse as I rush outside. Haze veils the full moon, but there's plenty of light to see by.
My car is still parked where I left it that first morning, thank God.
I fumble for the keys, my hands unsteady from adrenaline.
