Back in my room at U.A. High School, my brain was melting.
Principal Nezu had just said my power might be spatial authority.
Which meant I wasn't just teleporting.
I might actually be controlling space itself.
Which sounded cool.
And also terrifying.
I sat cross-legged on my bed staring at my hands.
On the floor nearby, Tomura Shigaraki was playing the same video game again.
He still couldn't beat level two.
Leaning against the wall, Dabi scrolled through his phone.
And near the door, Kurogiri calmly polished a glass.
Normal roommate activities.
Totally normal.
I stared harder at my hands.
"…Space control."
Dabi glanced over.
"Still thinking about that?"
"…Yeah."
Shigaraki paused the game.
"…You're overthinking it."
I sighed.
"Maybe."
Then something clicked in my brain.
A very specific thought.
A thought that had been hiding there the entire time.
A thought so ridiculous it made my eyes slowly widen.
"…Wait."
Dabi noticed immediately.
"…What."
I looked at them slowly.
"If I can distort space…"
Shigaraki raised an eyebrow.
"…Yeah?"
"…Then anime abilities should technically work."
Silence.
Absolute silence.
Dabi blinked.
"…What."
The Realization
My brain was racing now.
Teleportation.
Portals.
Redirecting attacks.
Moving objects without touching them.
Distorting space.
I slowly stood up.
"This makes sense."
Shigaraki scratched his neck.
"…It absolutely does not."
I pointed dramatically at the wall.
"In anime—"
Dabi groaned.
"Oh no."
"In anime," I continued, "characters do insane stuff because physics doesn't matter."
Kurogiri tilted his head slightly.
"A curious theory."
I kept going.
"But if I'm controlling space itself…"
I raised a hand toward the wall.
"…Then technically I can change how things move through space."
Shigaraki stared.
"…Get to the point."
I grinned.
"…I might be able to do anime attacks."
Dabi stared at me for a long moment.
Then he sighed.
"…Go ahead."
Attempt #1
I pointed my hand dramatically forward.
"Okay."
Deep breath.
"Let's try something simple."
Shigaraki leaned forward slightly.
"…This should be good."
I focused.
If I could bend space…
Then I could compress it.
And if I compressed space in front of my hand…
Energy moving through it should accelerate.
Right?
Maybe?
Possibly?
I took a dramatic stance.
"Alright."
Then I shouted the most anime thing possible.
"SPATIAL BLAST!"
The air warped.
The space in front of my hand folded inward—
Then exploded outward.
BOOM.
A shockwave blasted across the room.
The door slammed open.
Papers flew everywhere.
Shigaraki's controller flew across the room.
Dabi's hair blew backward.
Kurogiri's glass shattered.
Silence.
Smoke slowly drifted through the room.
Dabi blinked.
"…You just punched the air."
Shigaraki looked impressed.
"…That was actually cool."
Kurogiri adjusted his suit calmly.
"A controlled spatial compression wave."
I stared at my hand.
"…I did an anime attack."
Aizawa Appears
At that exact moment the door slid open.
Standing there was Shota Aizawa.
He looked at the destroyed room.
The smoke.
The villains.
And me standing in the middle dramatically pointing my hand forward.
He sighed.
"…Ren."
"…Yes?"
"What did you do."
"…Science."
Aizawa rubbed his face slowly.
"Explain."
I smiled proudly.
"I figured out how to use anime logic."
Silence.
Dabi started laughing.
Shigaraki muttered:
"…I hate that this worked."
Kurogiri folded his hands politely.
"A fascinating breakthrough."
Aizawa stared at me.
"…You are not allowed to invent attacks in the dorm."
"…Noted."
But Something Else Happens
As the room settled down…
I felt something strange again.
That same ripple in space from earlier.
Except stronger.
Much stronger.
Like something far away had just touched reality.
I looked toward the window.
"…Did you guys feel that?"
Shigaraki immediately looked serious.
"…Yeah."
Dabi stopped laughing.
"…That wasn't you."
Kurogiri's mist swirled slightly.
"…No."
Across the city…
Somewhere far away…
A dark portal opened.
And someone stepped through it.
Watching the skyline where U.A. High School stood.
The figure smiled slightly.
"Ah."
"So the spatial user is there."
Back in my room…
I suddenly got chills.
"…Something's coming."
