Camille ran after Hayden, hopeful she could stop him from making a grave mistake.
"Hayden!" Camille called after him, but he ignored her. "I know that you hear me. You must stop and listen to me. Just this one last time."
Hayden sighed and stopped. "You sound and look like a woman with a bad upbringing. Have you no shame? When did you stop caring about your appearance?"
Camille placed her hand on her chest as she caught her breath. "If you had stopped sooner, then I wouldn't have to chase after you. You must stop what you are doing. Our children can never become the heirs of the estate."
"Not now with this," Hayden said, already uninterested. "Return to our chamber to get some rest. It is evident that the rain and lack of sleep have gotten to you."
