Chapter 43 - 43. One Click to Ruin

Jasper's mind was a battlefield. As Seinna remained asleep against him, he lowered his gaze to his hand—her watch was still in his possession. The sleek device flickered with a faint blue glow.

His fingers hovered over the screen. He knew he shouldn't invade her privacy, but something deep inside urged him to look. His heart pounded as he activated the holographic display, lowering the brightness so no one else could see what he was doing.

A series of files and apps appeared before him. He scrolled through them, his curiosity increasing.

Then, he saw it.

A folder filled with private photos and videos.

Jasper hesitated. This isn't right.

He glanced at Seinna—she was still sleeping, her expression peaceful.

His fingers twitched as he clicked on the most recent video.

Seinna's Confession

The screen flickered to life, and Seinna's face appeared. She was adjusting the camera, a playful yet nervous smile on her lips.

"So, guys, today is the last day of the Grand Finals. The championship is over. Blaze, unfortunately, lost… and Tenebris won."

Jasper's eyes widened slightly. This was recorded during the Diamond Championship.

The video continued.

Seinna brushed a strand of hair behind her ear, a soft blush dusting her cheeks.

"But my fight… my real fight… is still going on."

Jasper leaned forward slightly. What does she mean?

Seinna's expression turned serious as she lowered her gaze.

"You all know who I'm talking about… my dream prince."

Jasper's breath caught in his throat.

"Jasper Tyros."

His heartbeat stopped.

She let out a small, nervous laugh. "I don't know why I'm recording this. Maybe because I'm too afraid to confess in person… but this is real, okay? I mean, I made something for him."

Jasper's fingers clenched into fists as Seinna reached off-camera and pulled out a small, intricately crafted miniature version of Dragonis—his sword.

"It took me many hours, but look! It's perfect, right? I'm sure Jasper will like it."

Jasper's heart felt heavy.

His eyes flickered toward her necklace—even now, while she was asleep, she was still wearing it. A symbol of her feelings for him.

The video wasn't over.

Seinna moved toward a mirror, fixing her hair.

"Okay, guys… now practice time."

She took a deep breath and whispered, "I love you very much, Jasper."

Jasper felt his breath hitch.

Then she said it again.

And again.

And again.

For nearly a hundred times, she repeated those words, each time with a different tone, a different emotion—nervous, shy, confident, excited. By the end, she collapsed onto her bed, exhausted from practicing.

"That should be enough practice… Now, let's try some outfits for tomorrow!"

Jasper's eyes widened in panic.

He knew what that meant.

She was about to change clothes in front of the camera.

Without thinking, he instantly closed the video, erased any trace of his activity, and shut down the holographic display.

His mind was screaming.

What Was He Thinking?

Jasper pressed his fingers against his temples. His pulse was racing.

What… what was he even doing?

Why did he watch that?

Why did his heart feel so damn heavy?

Why did he feel like he just saw something he wasn't supposed to?

Seinna shifted slightly in her sleep, letting out a soft sigh.

Jasper exhaled slowly, gripping the watch in his hands.

"She's unbreakable… but how do I make her hate me?"

His mind was at war with itself.

One part of him wanted to push her away, to make her forget about him.

But another part—the part he had been trying to ignore—wanted to hold onto this moment forever.

The War Inside Jasper's Heart Had Begun.

A dark thought crept into Jasper's mind like a shadow slithering through the cracks of his conscience.

His fingers twitched.

Her watch was still open.

He hesitated.

But only for a second.

With swift, calculated movements, Jasper downloaded the video onto his own wristwatch.

A forbidden truth, now his to wield.

Downloading… 73%

Seinna remained asleep, her soft breaths undisturbed. The glow of the holographic screen flickered against her relaxed face.

Downloading… 96%

Jasper's hands felt cold.

His mind screamed, STOP.

But he didn't.

Downloading… 100%

The moment it completed, he shut down the display and exhaled, his pulse hammering in his ears.

This video…

It held everything.

Every secret Seinna had about him. Every feeling she had ever confessed in the safety of her private recordings.

And now, he had all of it.

He clenched his jaw, his hands gripping the edges of his coat. Why the hell did I do that?

A gentle sigh. A small shift.

Jasper stiffened as Seinna stirred, stretching her arms lazily. Her silver eyes fluttered open, meeting his in the dim afternoon light.

She blinked in confusion, then let out a small yawn, rubbing her eyes. When she realized she had been sleeping against him the entire time, a smirk tugged at her lips.

"Still ignoring me?" she teased, tilting her head.

Jasper remained silent.

Seinna let out an amused breath, shaking her head. "You really are stubborn. But I want to see how long you can last."

She stood up, brushing the dust off her clothes. As she did, her fingers ran across her wristwatch, typing something.

Jasper's body tensed.

Was she checking something?

She turned away and started walking toward the hotel.

Jasper hesitated for only a moment before silently following her.

His mind was a storm.

That video… it had everything.

And soon, he would have to use it.

***

Arriving at the Hotel

The hotel lobby was bright, filled with voices, laughter, and the aroma of fresh food from the kitchen. It was alive—but Jasper barely noticed.

His focus remained on Seinna.

As they entered, they immediately spotted Kenshiro Sensei standing near the center of the room, deep in discussion with Ryu, Kai, and Ai.

"We'll be leaving for Hikarashi Village soon," Kenshiro announced. "The Chunin Exam registration deadline is closing in, and you three need to submit your forms before it's too late."

Ryu clenched his fists, his eyes burning with determination. "This is my chance! I'll show everyone I'm the strongest Shinobi Blader!"

Kai scoffed, arms crossed. "You're delusional."

Ryu ignored him, still caught up in his excitement.

Jasper barely registered their conversation.

His eyes had already locked onto Ghesso.

The golden-haired sage was seated comfortably on a couch, engaged in a casual chat with Serena, who was lying on a mattress, one hand resting on her stomach.

Seinna, however, didn't hesitate.

She marched directly toward Ghesso, her expression sharp.

"This pervert is still here?"

The entire room froze.

Ghesso's face lost all color.

And then—

He dropped to his knees, pressing his palms together in an exaggerated bow.

"I'm sorry, Seinna-sama! Have mercy on me!"

His dramatic plea echoed through the lobby, drawing the attention of several onlookers. Some tried to suppress their laughter, while others simply shook their heads.

Seinna crossed her arms, tapping her foot as if weighing his fate. After a long moment, she let out a deep sigh.

"Fine. I forgive you."

Ghesso collapsed in relief.

Serena, amused, chuckled softly. "You really never change, huh?"

Jasper, however, wasn't laughing.

The weight of his wristwatch felt heavier than ever.

Because on that screen, hidden behind encrypted files, was the key to her destruction.

And soon…

He would decide what to do with it.

Dinner came and went.

Jasper remained quiet, his mind tangled in its own darkness.

Seinna, as always, spoke to him as if nothing had changed. She smiled, she teased—but she was patient.

She knew.

She knew he was breaking.

Jasper clenched his fists under the table. She has no idea.

But even as he told himself that…

Why did he feel like he was losing?

The night was still, but Jasper's mind was anything but.

He stood at the rooftop's edge, arms crossed, staring over the breathtaking view of the Kasai Clan's glowing lantern-lit streets. The wind carried the faint sounds of music from the village below, but it was all just noise to him.

Because he knew.

She was coming.

She always did.

The softest shuffle of footsteps. The familiar scent of her presence. He didn't even need to turn his head.

"Oh, come on," Seinna said, standing beside him, her voice carrying its usual amused persistence. "Just admit it already. You're never going to break me. Give it up, Jasper."

Jasper's fingers tightened around his wristwatch.

His trump card. His last move.

With calculated coldness, he tapped the screen, and the holographic projection flickered to life.

A video.

Seinna's video.

Her private confession—her practicing saying his name, her handcrafted miniature Dragonis, the raw, unfiltered emotions she had recorded in secret.

For him.

Jasper didn't even look at her.

He simply played the video.

For both of them to hear.

Seinna's entire body froze.

Her breath hitched, her silver eyes widening in pure disbelief as her own voice echoed in the night air—soft, vulnerable, and completely exposed.

"I love you very much, Jasper..."

She blinked.

Once.

Twice.

Then she whipped her head toward him, eyes blazing with confusion, betrayal—and something much darker.

She grabbed his wrist, twisting it harshly, trying to snatch the watch from his grip.

"What the hell are you doing?!" she hissed.

Jasper finally turned, meeting her shattered expression with ice-cold indifference.

"You know exactly what this is," he said, voice dripping with venom.

And then—he said the words that changed everything.

"This video can shatter your entire reputation. One click—one fucking click—and I'll make you famous in ways you don't want, Seinna. You think you're untouchable? You think you'll never break?"

He leaned in slightly, lowering his voice to something sharp, cutting—brutal.

"Then leave me the hell alone. Or I swear, I'll make sure every pathetic guy in the universe knows exactly how much you worship the ground I walk on."

The Explosion of Wrath

For the first time in her entire life—

Seinna Frostveil's mind went blank.

The world around her ceased to exist.

There was only Jasper.

And the white-hot rage consuming her veins.

Without hesitation, she twisted his arm back so hard it nearly snapped.

CRACK.

"AAAGH—!!" Jasper barely had time to scream before she slammed him onto the stone rooftop, his head bouncing off the surface with a sickening thud.

Before he could even process the pain, her boot came down onto his chest, pinning him in place as she loomed over him.

Her silver eyes burned—not with tears, not with heartbreak—

But with pure, merciless fury.

"You Sick, Vile, Pathetic Bastard"

Her voice was low, sharp, and filled with so much venom it could have melted steel.

"You absolute fucking piece of shit."

"You rotten, festering, miserable little coward."

"You think you can control me? You think you can humiliate me? Blackmail me?"

She leaned down, gripping the front of his shirt and yanking him up, her lips curling in undisguised disgust.

"Do it. I fucking dare you."

Jasper gritted his teeth, pain shooting through his skull, but he still met her glare with defiance.

"Tch—get your damn hands off me—!"

CRACK.

She punched him.

Hard.

The first hit split his lip open.

Blood dripped down his chin.

Then came the second punch.

Then the third.

Then the fourth.

She didn't stop.

Jasper's vision blurred, pain exploding across his face as she pounded her knuckles into him, again and again.

With every strike, she spat out every insult she had ever held back.

"You fucking coward."

CRACK.

"You absolute waste of space."

CRACK.

"You slimy, two-faced, manipulative sack of garbage—"

CRACK.

Blood splattered onto her gloves.

Jasper coughed, his head spinning, his ears ringing.

And then—

She stopped.

Panting, trembling, her chest rising and falling with the force of her rage, she finally let go of him, letting his bruised, bloodied body slump against the rooftop.

And then—

She reached for her necklace.

The one she had always worn.

The one she had made for him.

She ripped it off.

Her fingers curled around the chain for a split second—then she threw it onto his chest like it was nothing but trash.

"You don't deserve me."

And with that—she turned on her heel and walked away.

Jasper Lay There—Alone.

His body ached.

His jaw throbbed.

Blood dripped down his face, pooling onto the cold stone beneath him.

But for the first time in his life—

It wasn't the physical pain that hurt the most.

It was the emptiness.

Because as he stared at the broken necklace in his hands—

He realized something.

He won.

She was gone.

She finally hated him.

So why…

Why the fuck did he feel like he had just lost everything?
