Sonic was born in another world filled with intelligent animal people. Even as a child, he had incredible super speed and was protected by an owl guardian named Longclaw.
Some enemies wanted to capture Sonic because his speed was extremely powerful. When they attacked, Longclaw opened a portal using magical rings and sent Sonic away to keep him safe. The world he arrived in was Earth, which in this story is the One Piece world.

Life on the World
Sonic arrived on Earth about ten years before the main events began. At first, he did not understand this world because it had so many islands and vast seas between them.
He secretly lived on an island called Neo, located in the East Blue. From there, Sonic watched the world around him and often saw many pirates sailing across the sea. To him, this strange world of pirates and adventure was completely new.
Screen 3
Sonic saw a strange scene on the sea. A boy named Luffy helped a cabin boy named Koby escape from the cruel pirate Lady Alvida. Luffy then fought and defeated Alvida and her crew.
Watching this, Sonic became curious about the boy with the straw hat. Moving at hypersonic speed, Sonic ran across the sea and jumped onto a small boat to follow them.
