Maya's POV
I guided Sebastian toward a secluded corner near the floor-to-ceiling windows that overlooked the hotel's manicured gardens. The space was typically reserved for confidential negotiations between buyers and vineyard representatives, but tonight it became our escape from the crowded reception hall.
"Quite the showcase," he observed, surveying the elegant setup around us. "Though I expected nothing less from someone with your attention to detail."
"Thank you." I maintained my professional composure, though my pulse hammered against my throat. "Are you interested in reviewing our latest collections?"
"What I'm interested in is how you've been."
His directness made my breath catch. This wasn't the polished CEO addressing a business contact. This was Sebastian reaching out to Maya, the woman he'd walked away from months ago.
"I'm doing well," I replied reflexively, then hesitated. "Actually, better than well. I've discovered where I belong."
