Chapter 1 - Maya's Inner Thoughts

Maya POV:

I'm Maya a girl who has never experienced the love of a parents, not once.

My mother died during childbirth. My Father Alpha Leo, went into shock after my Mother's death. He wasn't able to fulfill his duty as a Father and as the Alpha of Bristol Pack because of the pain he suffered from my Mother's death.

Luckily for My Pack, my Father was given another mate which was rare.

We werewolves normally only get one mate in a lifetime.

I was already Seven, when my father visited for the first time. I was surprised and also scared at the same time because, my maid kept telling me to stay out of the sight of my Father. They told me he resented me for killing his wife.

So I never thought he'll come to my manor without a reason.

I'm a splitting image of my Mother. A fair complexion, crimson eys, blonde hair, slender figure as a child. So when my Father laid his eyes on me, I caught a glimpse of longing but it didn't last before he shattered the little hope I was about building.

" What's your name child?". He asked, his expression blank.

"Maya". I gave him a stiff reply looking at the floor with my head slightly bowed

How was I suppose to smile at a man who had never once played a role of a Father, when he never bothered to see his own daughter.

"I only came here to inform you about your new Mother who you are going to respect if you by any chance cross parts with her". He said, his eyebrows Furrowed in annoyance.

"Just stay hidden, like you've always have". He stared at me for while before leaving.

And that's how it all started.

I was okay living my peaceful life alone, but I wasn't deemed fit to have that also.

"Maya". I snapped out of if after hearing my name.

Rose called out my name as she walked into the Cafe.

"I'm so sorry, I wasn't paying attention". I stood up, still holding my diary in my hands.

"I called you several times". Rose slowly drops the bags on the counter, before she continues speaking.

"I told you to take a week off". She place her hands on my shoulders.

" I can't bring myself to do that...., You pay me more than the other staff even when I'm only running part time-shifts". I held her arms, tears rolling down my cheeks.

"You don't know how grateful I am for all you've been doing".

" I wish I could do more but you won't accept even if I tried". She said with a half smile lingering on her face.

"Your shift's over and you need to start heading home". Rose looked out the window.

"Wipe your tears and hand me your apron". She stretches her hands waiting for me to undo the knot I made with the apron.

"Here it is". I passed it to her

"And Maya .... You shouldn't think of the past that much, I don't want you getting stuck".

I immediately understood what she meant by that. I hid the diary behind my back

"Yes, I won't get too caught up on it". I said with an half smile on my face .
