Chapter 1 — The Broken Sky
The night was calm.
Streetlights flickered above the quiet roads, and people walked through the city without noticing anything strange.
Until the sky cracked.
At first, everyone thought it was lightning.
But lightning does not tear the sky apart.
A glowing purple fracture stretched across the clouds like broken glass.
People stopped walking.
Some pointed at the sky.
Others took out their phones to record.
Kael Varyn stood frozen in the middle of the street.
He had never seen anything like it.
Then the fracture widened.
Something pushed through from the other side.
A massive claw burst out of the glowing crack.
The creature fell from the sky and crashed into the city with a thunderous impact.
The ground shook.
Cars flipped.
Windows shattered.
People screamed and ran in every direction.
Dust filled the air as the creature slowly rose from the crater.
It was enormous.
Its body was covered in black scales, and its glowing red eyes searched the city like a predator hunting prey.
Kael tried to move.
But fear rooted him to the ground.
Then something strange happened.
A burning sensation spread across his hand.
Kael looked down.
A mysterious symbol was glowing on his palm.
It pulsed with bright blue light.
Suddenly a voice echoed inside his mind.
"The Realmwalker has awakened."
Before Kael could react, the air in front of him twisted.
A swirling portal opened.
The creature turned toward him.
And began to charge.
