Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: Step brother

Jay-Jay POV

I didn't stop walking after I left the school gate.

Everything that happened in the classroom kept repeating in my head—the whispers, the shocked faces, the way everyone suddenly stared at me like I was someone they didn't know anymore.

My chest hurt.

Tears kept falling as I walked along the road, wiping them away quickly, but more kept coming.

Why did it have to happen like that…?

A car suddenly slowed down beside me and stopped in front of my path.

The door opened.

Percy stepped out.

My heart tightened the moment I saw him.

"Why are you here?" I said quickly, my voice shaking. "Just leave me alone."

Percy looked at me quietly for a moment.

"I can't," he said softly.

I wiped my tears angrily. "Why not?"

He took a deep breath.

"Because there's something I need to tell you. The truth… about everything."

My heart started beating faster.

"What truth?"

Percy looked straight into my eyes.

"Jay-Jay… I'm your stepbrother."

The world suddenly felt silent.

"What…?" I whispered.

"Our parents were connected before," he continued quietly. "That's why I've always been around. And the reason everything was hidden…"

His voice softened.

"…is because you were born as an illegitimate child."

The words felt heavy, like they shattered something inside my chest.

"No…" I shook my head as tears fell again. "That can't be true."

Percy looked at me sadly.

"I didn't want you to find out like this. But you deserved to know."

For a moment neither of us spoke. Cars passed by on the road, but everything felt distant.

Finally Percy opened the car door.

"Come on," he said gently. "I'll take you home."

"I don't want to go anywhere," I whispered.

"You shouldn't stay here alone," he replied softly. "Please, Jay-Jay."

I hesitated, but my legs felt too tired to keep walking. Slowly, I got into the car.

The whole ride was quiet.

I stared out the window while tears silently slid down my face. Percy didn't say anything. He just drove.

When we finally stopped in front of my house, my heart started beating faster again.

Something felt strange.

Lights were on. The gate was open.

I stepped out of the car slowly.

And then I froze.

The entire Section E was there.

All of them were standing or sitting in the yard—some on chairs, some leaning against the wall, some looking worried.

It looked like they had been waiting for me.

My eyes widened.

"W-what…?"

Someone noticed me.

"Jay-Jay's here!" one of them shouted.

Suddenly everyone stood up at the same time.

For a moment I didn't know what to feel—embarrassment, confusion, or something else.

After everything that happened today…

…they were still here.

Waiting for me.💔
