Jay's POV
Rain against glass sounded nice.
Peaceful.
Soft.
Like the city was trying to apologize for existing. 😌✨
Meanwhile…
my room looked like a crime investigation center.
Laptop open.
Papers everywhere.
Coffee cups slowly forming their own civilization.
My racing jacket thrown across the chair.
And me?
Emotionally deteriorating beautifully. 😐
I sat cross-legged on the floor staring at the screen again.
Names.
Faces.
Old enemies.
New enemies.
Possible enemies.
Honestly the list was becoming disrespectfully long.
I rubbed my eyes tiredly.
No sleep since Monday was finally catching up to me.
Fantastic.
Then my side hurt slightly when I moved.
Right.
Kidnapping.
How thoughtful of my body to remind me. 😭
The bruises along my ribs still hurt.
My knuckles looked worse too.
One had split open again after punching somebody's face repeatedly.
Which honestly sounded like their problem.
Not mine. 😌
I leaned back against the couch tiredly.
Thinking.
Again.
Because every road somehow led back to the same question:
Who found me?
Then suddenly—
DING DONG.
Silence.
My entire body froze immediately.
Nobody should be here.
Nobody.
Only family knew this location.
Slowly I stood up.
Carefully.
Every instinct in my body immediately alert now.
I moved toward the security monitor near the wall and checked the cameras.
Then blinked.
"…What?"
Because standing outside my gate in the rain looking one second away from emotional collapse was:
Keifer.
My brain immediately short-circuited. 😐✨
No.
Absolutely not.
How did this boy even FIND this place?!
I stared at the screen again.
Still Keifer.
Still standing there.
Still looking worried.
Great.
Fantastic.
Aries was officially a traitor. 😭
I sighed heavily before opening the gate remotely.
A few minutes later…
the front door opened.
Keifer stepped inside quietly.
Slightly wet from the rain.
Hair messy.
Expression tense.
And the second his eyes landed on me—
something in his face changed.
Relief.
Real relief.
Which honestly made my chest feel weird suddenly.
Disrespectful emotion. 😐
So naturally…
I joked immediately.
"Did Aries sell my location online?"
Usually Keifer would've responded immediately.
Maybe sarcastically.
Maybe annoyed.
This time?
Nothing.
He just stared at me.
And suddenly…
I realized how serious this actually was.
Oops.
The room felt strangely quiet.
Then his eyes slowly moved across me.
The bruises.
The cut near my lip.
My injured hand.
And immediately his expression darkened.
"…What happened?"
I looked away casually.
"I fought capitalism."
Silence.
No reaction.
Tough crowd honestly. 😔
Keifer stepped closer slowly.
"Jay."
Something about the way he said my name this time made joking feel harder suddenly.
So I sighed quietly.
"…Some people tried to kidnap me."
Silence.
Complete silence.
The rain outside somehow sounded louder now.
Keifer stared at me for a second.
Then another.
And somehow…
that silence felt scarier than shouting.
Because his expression became dangerously calm.
Not shocked.
Not dramatic.
Just cold.
"…What?"
I rubbed my forehead tiredly.
"It's handled."
"Handled?"
"Yes."
"You fought them alone?"
"…Maybe."
His jaw tightened immediately.
Oops.
Then finally he noticed the papers around the room.
The names.
The photos.
The investigation board energy 😭
His eyes narrowed slightly.
"You've been doing this alone all week?"
I crossed my arms.
"I work better alone."
Lie.
Huge lie honestly.
But unfortunately it had become habit.
Keifer suddenly looked angry now.
Actually angry.
"Do you understand how worried everyone is?"
That irritated me immediately.
Mostly because I already felt guilty.
And guilty people get defensive. 😐
"I didn't ask anyone to worry!"
The second the words left my mouth—
I regretted them.
Because Keifer's expression changed slightly.
Not angry anymore.
Just hurt.
Great.
Amazing.
I emotionally damaged another person.
Wonderful weekly achievement. 😔✨
The room fell quiet again.
Rain tapping softly outside.
My chest tight.
His expression exhausted.
And suddenly…
I felt tired.
Really tired.
Then quietly…
Keifer finally spoke.
"Too bad."
I looked up slowly.
And he continued softly:
"We still do."
Silence.
Real silence.
And somehow…
those four words hit harder than anything else that week. 🌧️
End of Chapter 📖✨
🌧️ "The scariest thing about caring for someone…
is realizing how badly losing them would hurt."
