The story opens with Ka Pineng, a paranormal investigator, arriving at a mansion. He is greeted by a trembling woman named Josephine, who begs him to save her young daughter, Joanna. Inside, Ka Pineng finds Joanna in a pitch-black room, locked away like a wild animal. To his horror, he discovers Joanna has been possessed or driven to madness; she is facing away from him but her head is twisted toward him, and she is consuming her own foot. Above them on the ceiling, the lifeless body of Josephine is nailed to the wood, revealing that the "Josephine" who greeted them was likely a spectral or possessed manifestation. The entity whispers a single name: ARA.
