Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: The Night of No Return

The black car stopped in front of a massive iron gate.

My hands were still shaking.

Everything felt unreal.

Just a few hours ago, I was sitting in my father's office, begging him not to do this.

Now I was here.

Sold.

The gate slowly opened with a metallic groan, revealing a long driveway lined with tall trees and dim golden lights.

The mansion at the end looked like something out of a nightmare.

Huge.

Silent.

Cold.

The driver stepped out first and opened my door.

"Miss," he said calmly. "We're here."

Miss.

The word sounded strange coming from someone who knew exactly why I was here.

I stepped out slowly, my heels touching the cold stone.

The air smelled like rain and danger.

Two guards stood near the entrance.

Both wearing black suits.

Both armed.

One of them spoke into an earpiece.

"She's here."

My stomach twisted.

I wanted to run.

But run where?

My father had already signed the deal.

And now…

I belonged to him.

The doors of the mansion opened.

A tall woman walked out.

She looked elegant, probably in her late thirties, dressed in a black dress that screamed power.

Her sharp eyes scanned me from head to toe.

"So you're the girl," she said.

Her voice was calm. Controlled.

"Yes," I whispered.

She turned around.

"Follow me."

I hesitated for a second, then walked after her.

The inside of the mansion was even more intimidating.

Marble floors.

Crystal chandeliers.

Paintings that probably cost more than my entire life.

We walked through a long hallway before stopping in front of a large wooden door.

My heart started pounding harder.

The woman looked at me.

"You should know something."

My throat went dry.

"What…?"

She opened the door slowly.

"He doesn't like to be kept waiting."

The room inside was dark.

Dim light from the city spilled through the massive windows.

And there he was.

Sitting behind a large desk.

His posture relaxed.

But his presence…

Terrifying.

Slowly… he stood up.

Tall.

Broad shoulders.

Black suit.

Dark eyes that looked like they could see straight through my soul.

My breath caught.

This was him.

The man who bought me.

The Mafia King.

He studied me silently for a moment.

Then he smirked.

"Well," he said slowly.

"So this is what your father traded for his freedom."

My chest tightened.

"I'm not an object," I snapped before I could stop myself.

The room went silent.

The woman behind me inhaled sharply.

But the man…

The Mafia King…

Just smiled.

Slowly.

Dangerously.

Then he walked closer.

Each step heavy.

Each step making my heart beat faster.

Until he stood right in front of me.

Too close.

His fingers lifted my chin.

My pulse exploded.

"You're wrong," he murmured.

His voice deep.

Cold.

"You became mine the moment your father signed that contract."

My breath trembled.

"And trust me…"

His eyes darkened.

"I always collect what belongs to me."
