"Have fun at school, okay?" She held his little hand while her other hand stroked his hair.


"See you later?" she hummed. "Mommy's gonna pick you up today. Once the school bell rings, I'll be right here."


His smile broadened as he watched Ashley straighten.


With that, Primo jogged toward the school gates while Ashley watched him. She waved and smiled when he glanced back at her.


"Gosh. He's so adorable," she mumbled to herself, her eyes softening.


Despite everything brewing behind the scenes, Primo's life had remained normal.


Or at least, that was what she wanted to believe.


She straightened, her smile fading slightly.


"He's gonna be okay," she whispered to herself. "We managed to get through everything without affecting our boy. We'll be okay."


Ashley drew a deep breath and forced herself to smile.
