Chapter 29 - Chapter 29: Lifelike Perfection

Next, Mikami Yuu ran a few experiments.

Just as the galgame system had said, once Transformation Technique reached max affection, it could completely rewrite his physiology. When he transformed into a bird, he could flap his wings and fly; when he became a fish, he could breathe underwater; when he turned into Kakashi, he could use that dog-head Earth-Style Wall…

…Well, maybe not that last one.

Because while body structure could be rewritten and elemental affinities could be reproduced, knowledge couldn't appear out of thin air. If Mikami Yuu wanted to use Earth-Style Wall, he at least had to know the hand seal sequence—otherwise it would be like having a wet dream and then getting stuck because a key "module" was missing…

However,

if it was a jutsu Mikami Yuu already knew, or ordinary taijutsu or swordsmanship, that was a different story.

"…Leaf Great Whirlwind!!"

With a loud shout, Mikami Yuu—transformed into Might Guy—whipped out a savage sweeping kick and slammed it into the wooden training post in front of him.

Bang!

The post shattered into pieces, splinters exploding outward, while Mikami Yuu flipped and landed steadily.

Huh—no pain!

Not even a little!

The Might family's legendary "built-to-take-abuse" physique really wasn't a joke. No wonder they could train like they were trying to die every day.

"Next, let's try a Madara-version Great Fire… forget it, I can't transform into that. I'll use Itachi instead."

This time, Mikami Yuu closed his eyes and focused, holding it in for a long while before using Transformation Technique. Smoke flashed, and a young Uchiha Itachi—at this point in time basically just born—appeared in the training ground. After forming a sequence of hand seals, he opened his mouth and exhaled:

"Fire Style: Great Fireball Jutsu!"

Fwooo—!!

A gigantic fireball, a full four to five meters in diameter, blasted out of Mikami Yuu's mouth, warping the air into rippling distortions.

But before it even hit the ground, Mikami Yuu's body went pop as he dropped out of the transformed state and returned to normal—while the fireball vanished into thin air as well!

"Huh?"

Was it because he transformed based only on a mental image, so he couldn't maintain it?

Mikami Yuu rested a bit, then transformed into Yakushi Nonō and planned to test Healing Technique…

"Wait… this is way too realistic…"

"Can Transformation do Seduction Technique too?"

"…"

After a brief "verify body details" moment, Mikami Yuu abruptly lifted his head and carefully scanned around, confirming no one was passing by this training ground. Only then did he exhale and cancel the transformation.

Seriously—he'd said it before: this galgame system really was an adult game. It made even these details so real it got your mind going in the wrong direction… thank god he had decent self-control. If someone had walked by and seen "Yakushi Nonō," she'd be ruined.

After these experiments,

Mikami Yuu basically figured it out—

The "Lifelike Perfection" trait really was a bug-tier ability. It let him obtain nearly all of the target's external capabilities: Kakashi's all-element affinity, Might Guy's tanky physique, the Uchiha's talent in Fire Style…

But,

there were conditions. He needed a certain level of familiarity with the target—only someone he had personally interacted with and knew well could be copied perfectly. And no matter who he became, his chakra reserves and knowledge base were fixed. That ultimately determined the upper limit of "Lifelike Perfection."

It was like this:

If Mikami Yuu's base body was a Mazda, then Transformation Technique could let him remodel himself into a Mercedes, a Rolls-Royce, a little kiddie bus, or a hundred-ton truck—even swap the engine to match perfectly. But the fuel he burned was still the Mazda's tank of 92-octane gas.

If the target's performance was too far above his base—say, a hundred-ton truck—he might not be able to drive it at all.

But if it was just a Mercedes or a kiddie bus, the fuel type might not match and the tank might be small, but he could at least "make it work" for a short trip.

He even suspected that "can't imitate bloodline abilities" might not be absolute.

After all, the Sharingan and Byakugan were special "organs," and common chakra-fusion bloodline limits could be carried in inherited sequences—passed down through DNA. So if Transformation Technique could be pushed down to the DNA level, reproducing them might not be impossible.

Of course…

That was getting way ahead of himself.

For now, Mikami Yuu was thinking he could develop several "standard" transformation templates—one for combat bursts, one for escape, one for everyday training… If he could do that, his survival rate in the wars that might come later would rise dramatically.

"I'll research it later…"

"And I'll rope Transformation Technique into it…"

Mikami Yuu thought.

Compared to Transformation Technique,

Clone Technique and Substitution Technique hadn't changed that much—just increases in linked senses and substitution range. Clone Technique's "Visual Sharing" became "Audiovisual Sharing," likely because of the Water Clone skin. In the future it might even upgrade into "Five-Sense Sharing."

Also—

Great Fireball Jutsu (Affection: 53/100 — Intimate)

(Stage rewards obtained 2 times: Constitution +2; Trait: Spirit of Fire — Your Fire-nature chakra affinity increases moderately. Fire Style ninjutsu power increases by 60% from its current baseline.)

Healing Technique (Affection: 42/100 — Friendly)

(Stage rewards obtained 1 time: Constitution +1; Trait: Healing Brand — Wounds you heal will leave a subtle "healing brand." For one month after treatment ends, the brand continues repairing surrounding tissue until it returns to its original pre-injury state.)

Wild Water Wave Jutsu (Affection: 34/100 — Friendly)

(Stage rewards obtained 1 time: Constitution +1; Trait: Water Dancer — Your Water Release has more "artistic" possibilities. When casting, if you create an artistic shape that satisfies Wild Water Wave, chakra consumption is reduced by 30% from the normal baseline.)

The progression for these techniques was pretty standard, and their traits weren't overly outrageous.

They were mostly enhancements of the original effects.

But the scaling ratios were noteworthy.

From Great Fireball's pattern—stage one 30%, stage two 60%—then stage three would be at least 90%, maybe even 120% if it doubled each time. If he combined that amplification with Transformation Technique's "Lifelike Perfection"…

Mikami Yuu could already picture the scene where Madara's Fire Style forced more than ten people to team up just to block it…

And aside from the traits,

a total of +14 Constitution was also extremely sweet.

It made Mikami Yuu's daily ten-lap runs much easier than before. He still ended up with sore muscles and drenched in sweat, but at least he no longer felt that near-death, hollowed-out exhaustion. After resting for half an hour, he could more or less move again.

However, high-intensity training brought a hidden worry with it.

So after one medical training class, Mikami Yuu specifically found Yakushi Nonō, who was packing up her lesson plans, and asked her how to relieve muscle strain caused by training.
