CHAPTER 45 THE UPPERCLASSMEN
Sir Raymond's class had been going on for a while now.
He would give lectures and pick random students in a duel.
And unexpectedly, he had faced Roman and Billy in one.
"Do you think Roman's gonna go all out"
Lan whispered to Bryon.
"I don't really know"
Bryon replied.
"They're literally arch nemesis, so I don't really know what to expect"
Billy eyed Roman who pointed his staff at him with a laid back expression, and a smirk.
"He's not even taking this seriously..
Billy thought as his frown deepened.
His eyes glowed blue and an armored gauntlet materialized, covering his hands up to elbow.
The finger tips of the gauntlets were sharp like the claws of a beast. And deadlier.
But Billy could still fold his hands into a perfect fist when needed.
Roman and Billy stared at each other for a while with tension building up in the students.
Roman's smirked never faltered.
The sight of it made Billy's eyes darkened with rage.
"He's really not taking me seriously..
Just as they were about to attack...
The door pushed opened and someone stepped into the training hall..
The students turned to face the man who stepped in.
Sir Zach scanned the hall, then looked at sir Raymond.
"There's a man shaped hole in my walls"
Sir Zach pointed at the obvious large hole in the walls
"Let's just say the kids know how to receive a teacher "
Sir Raymond shrugged then laughed.
Most of the kids couldn't help but chuckle silently
"Well, it's almost time for their next class, so please don't get carried away "
Sir Zach said.
"Relax Zachary, you're always so uptight "
Sir Raymond said.
He had suddenly appeared beside Sir Zach and placed his hands on his shoulder.
"Anyway"
Sir Zach faced the class
"I'm here to announce that your upper classmen, the second and third year students will be returning from their excursion in a few days time.
And trust me, they are quite competitive"
Sir Zach smiled.
"Enjoy the rest of your day "
He turned and left.
The class became tensed as a strange silence reigned.
Sir Raymond looked at the students, then chuckled.
"What's up with the faces?"
Roman climb down the platform and returned the wooden weapon on the rack before joining the others.
Billy watched him leave.
"He didn't even looked at me. Arrogant twerp..
Billy scoffed and walked away.
"We'll continue from here tomorrow, but keep practicing what I told you.
Now if you'll excuse me, I just remembered I have an important task to take care of. See you tomorrow kids"
Sir Raymond left the class, leaving the students to their own devices.
Roman sat beside Sylver and Lunar on the floor.
"I was really hoping to see a fight between you and Billy "
Slyver said.
"Im not trying to sound proud, but he's no longer in my league"
Roman smiled.
Lunar chuckled.
"I still don't get the relationship between you all. That's the guy that always bully you back then "
"Yep. Back at the village Billy always over powered me because he had a spirit beast.
Sylver was always there to protect me sometimes, and believe it or not, she was really small. I'm still surprised about her sudden burst of height "
Roman said with a chuckle.
"Well I had to be taller if I'm gonna protect you from all sides"
Sylver said.
"Then who's gonna protect me "
Lunar said.
"I need to get myself a girl"
Lunar turned to face Anya, who sat beside Sylver with eyes closed, meditating.
But she was listening.
She was beginning to find their presence... comforting and amusing.
Especially the charismatic red squirrel which sat on her head and... playing with her long ears.
No wait ..I take it back.. stupid chipmunk..
Fury squealed then folded it's arms, looking annoyed.
One of Anya's ears moved and wacked the squirrel of her head.
Fury squealed as it landed on her lap.
He stood, dust it's fur glared at her with arms folded.
Her eyes were still closed, feigning ignorance.
"Hey Anya"
Lunar called.
Anya opened her eyes and looked at him with a frown .
"I was thinking.. can you use a shield? Im need a girl who can...."
Her frown deepened.
Lunar paused..
"Hmmm on the second thought, nevermind"
Roman and Sylver burst into light laughter.
Sarah walked up to them sat beside Lunar.
"Hey guys, what's up?"
"Hey Sarah... you don't happened to be able to use a shield, do you?"
Lunar suddenly said.
"What....."
Sarah was confused.
"Ignore him"
Sylver said.
"Well if you were to know, I'm more of twin dagger user myself"
Sarah said.
Lunar smile widened.
"That's even better. I can show you some skills if you like"
He wiped out the twin swords strapped to his laps and spun them skillfully.
Roman rolled his eyes.
"Ignore him"
Lunar pointed a blade at him.
"Let's have a go"
Roman smirked
"This whole hall won't be able to contain us"
"Guys chill"
Sarah interjected.
"Anyways, the class is talking about our upperclassmen. It's going to be a tough one, really"
"So"
Roman shrugged.
"Some the second year are already at the Beast Knight stage"
Sarah add.
"So.."
Lunar shrugged.
Sarah raised a brow.
"Are you guys serious?"
"It's not really a big deal. I'm strong, Lunar's strong, heck, even Fury's stronger than he looks"
Roman said.
Fury squealed and puffed it's chest.
"Fact is, I'm taking down anyone that comes in my way.
The problem with the class is that they looked down on their selves too much, and trust me, it won't take them anywhere"
He explained.
"Roman's right, we don't really have to be scared of them cause they're our seniors"
Sylver said.
Sarah looked at Lunar.
"What, only Roman can rival me, I'll just smack anyone that comes in my way"
Lunar smiled.
"I think I should hang with you guys more"
Sarah smiled.
Some moments later, the door opened and a lady stepped in.
She was dressed in light armor and her black hair was tied up.
He skin was light with dimples and her smile was welcoming.
"Hello class "
She greeted as the students stood.
"I'm Camila, and I'm supposed to separate you guys for your specialist classes"
She nodded as her eyes counted the number of the students.
"The Specialist classes are grouped in five; Attack, Defense, Stealth, Intelligence, and Medical.
You are to pick based on your skills and spirit beasts.
Those of you for the Attack class are to go to the Court yard, I'm sure your teacher already waiting. For Defense, you are to head to the academy field. Stealth, locate hall seven. Intelligence, hall ten. And for Medical, you are to follow me."
She paused.
"Any questions?"
She glanced at them.
"Non, alright then. Please note that each class are special in their own way, that's why they are called Specialist class.
And I'm sure you have been told earlier, so by now you should know where you belong.
So without wasting any time, those that are for me, come with me "
Without waiting for their response, she turned and left through the door.
Few seconds later, five students quickly followed behind, leaving seventeen behind.
"Wow, that was quick "
Lan chuckled.
"Alright, those who's pumped up and ready to fight in first line of battle, follow your leader to the Attack class"
Lan said loudly and rushed towards the door.
"Wait our leader.."
"Who made him boss.."
Roman chuckled
"Well, you heard the man, so follow the leader"
He rushed behind Lan.
Sylver, Lunar, Anya, Sarah, Carl, Bryon and Billy , quickly followed behind.
They were nine of them in total.
Eight remained.
Amongst them were Zain and Zed, the twins, who shared the same room with Roman and Lunar.
"Well it's Stealth class for us"
Zain said.
"Yep"
Zed nodded.
The both of them left.
Another two left for Intelligence Class.
The remaining four look at themselves.
One thing they had in common, their bodies were built.
Well.. except for Mark who was skinny compared to them.
"I would have liked to go to Stealth class"
Mark sighted.
"Why didn't you, cause of what Sir Raymond said?"
Xenon asked
"Yeah"
"Don't worry, I got your back.
Let's go"
The other two boys nodded and they left.
