CHAPTER 69 THE POWER OF A TRANSCENDANT 4

The heavens screamed as tens of thousands of metallic feathers rained from the sky like a divine judgment.

The battlefield vanished beneath a sea of blue light.

BOOM!

BOOM!

BOOM!

Each feather struck with enough force to tear apart fortresses.

Explosions erupted endlessly.

The earth cracked.

An entire forest wiped out in seconds.

Humphrey hovered above the chaos, his Wings spread wide.

His chest heaved violently.

This attack consumed a terrifying amount of spirit energy.

But he didn't care.

Not until the man before him was was dead.

The bombardment continued for nearly a minute.

Then finally... silence.

Smoke covered the battlefield.

Nothing could have survived that....

Nothing....

Yet Humphrey's instincts suddenly screamed.

Danger....

A massive killing intent erupted from below.

His eyes widened and the smoke exploded.

BOOOOOOOOOOM!

A yellow pillar of energy pierced the heavens.

Humphrey barely crossed his wings in time.

BOOM!....

The impact launched him through multiple clouds.

Blood flew from his mouth.

"What?!"

The smoke parted and figure slowly emerged.

Sir Raymond.

Not only was he alive...

He was smiling.... grinning.

His yellow aura had become denser, sharper, more violent..

And in his hands were two monstrous weapons.

Long black spikes, each over ten feet in length.

Their surfaces resembled the quills of a porcupine, yet they looked more like weapons forged specifically for slaughter. Jagged edges lined on both sides.

Yellow energy coursed through countless runes engraved upon them.

The space around the spikes distorted.

Sir Raymond had finally summoned his spirit weapon.

Not like the ones he had used for his students the previous day... Nahh, he was toying with the kids.

This, was his power, the power of a Transcendant stage Beast Master.

Humphrey's eyes narrowed.

"So you've finally stopped holding back."

He said.

Raymond lifted one of the spikes onto his shoulder.

"I was curious."

A cruel grin appeared.

"I wanted to see how much hatred could strengthen a man."

The second spike vibrated in his hand.

Yellow sparks flew everywhere.

"But now I'm bored."

The battlefield trembled.

Raymond's aura exploded.

The pressure crushed the remains of nearby boulders into dust.

Humphrey felt hisWings shudder.

Not from fear, but from recognizing a rival predator.

Raymond pointed one spike at him.

"Come."

Then he vanished.

The sonic boom arrived a second later.

Humphrey barely reacted.

CLANG!

One metallic wing blocked a spike.

A shockwave erupted across the destroyed battlefield.

The impact sent cracks racing across the wing's surface.

Humphrey's eyes widened.

The Wings were legendary defensive weapons, yet Sir Raymond had nearly pierced them in a single strike.

Raymond attacked again, and again, and again.

The spikes became golden blurs.

Each slash threatened to split Humphrey in half.

The sky became their battlefield.

Blue and gold streaks collided repeatedly.

BOOM!

CLANG!

BOOM!

CLANG!

Clouds were erased, lightning scattered and thunder rolled continuously.

Humphrey managed to slash Raymond's shoulder.

A deep wound opened.

But Raymond ignored it.

One of the Quills suddenly elongated.

SHINK!

The spike shot forward like a spear.

Humphrey twisted.

But too slow.

The quill pierced his side, drawing blood.

Raymond grinned.

He yanked the weapon free.

Humphrey stumbled backward.

The wound was deep.

Far deeper than any injury he had suffered so far.

The spikes weren't merely sharp.

They carried a destructive energy that devoured spirit power from within.

Humphrey could feel his strength draining.

Raymond sensed it too.

"You've reached your limit, but I'm still waiting for something else, come on, show it to me!!"

Humphrey wiped blood from his mouth.

His breathing became heavier.

But his eyes...

His eyes still burned.

The memory of his clan flashed before him once more.

The home Raymond had stolen.

His fingers clenched.

The Wings began glowing brighter.

Brighter.....

And brighter....Until they resembled two stars suspended in the heavens.

Raymond's smile slowly faded.

He shook his head and let out a long sigh.

"Still beating around the bush huh?"

The storm clouds parted.

Blue lightning gathered from every direction.

The battlefield shook violently.

Sir Raymond tightened his grip on his spirit weapon.

The skies darkened more.

Blue lightning continued gathering around Humphrey's Wings, illuminating the battlefield with flashes of furious light.

Humphrey's spirit energy surged to new heights.

The ground below fractured under the pressure.

One more attempt to bury the monster who had destroyed his clan.

Raymond watched in silence.

The Quills rested at his sides.

Despite the terrifying power Humphrey was unleashing, Sir Raymond remained composed.

Almost disappointed.

Humphrey raised his arm.

The metallic feathers detached from his wings once more.

But this time, they did not become a storm.

They merged.....

Thousands upon thousands of feathers fused together.

A gigantic spear of blue energy formed above the battlefield.

The weapon was so massive it cast a shadow over the land.

Humphrey's spirit beast, the Griffin, suddenly appeared, and then, wrapped itself around the spear.

Its roar shook the clouds apart.

Humphrey's eyes blazed.

"Die!!!!, you bastard!!!!....."

The spear descended.

Everything trembled.

Everything in its path disintegrated.

Space itself seemed to distort beneath its power.

BOOOOOOOOOOM!

The attack swallowed Raymond entirely.

A pillar of blue light erupted into the heavens.

The shockwave spread for hundreds of miles.

Surrounding mountains collapsed.

Forests vanished.

The battlefield disappeared, like the Earth had grown tired of housing the two behomoth.

For several seconds, nothing could be seen except blinding blue radiance.

Humphrey fell to one knee, yet the wind still held me.

His chest rose and fell heavily.

His spirit energy was nearly exhausted.

Surely...

Surely that was enough.

But then...

A yellow light appeared within the blue storm.

Humphrey's eyes widened.

"No..."

The light grew larger.

Brighter.....More terrifying.

CRACK!

The gigantic spear split apart.

CRACK!

The entire attack exploded.

A yellow shockwave erupted outward, annihilating the remaining blue energy.

Raymond emerged.

But not just him, a massive yellow Porcupine stood, gallantly towering above him.

Unharmed.

Not a scratch.

The yellow aura surrounding him had become so dense it resembled liquid sunlight.

Humphrey stared in disbelief.

Impossible...

He had poured everything into that attack.

Everything...

But Raymond had summoned his spirit beast at the last second.

The millions of indestructible sharp quills absorb the full impact of Humphrey's attack.

Raymond looked at him and frowned deeply.

"You're waisting my time"

He growled.

Then Raymond vanished.
