Chapter 114 - Chapter 114: Ilo’s Nen Ability!

In the original story, Pakunoda already had feelings for Chrollo that went beyond the normal loyalty a troupe member would have toward the Boss.

It was probably because the two of them had been acting together ever since they were children in Meteor City.

Still, Pakunoda reacting like this was well within Roy's expectations. Or rather, it was precisely because she would react this way that Roy's next plan would be much easier to carry out.

"Begin." Roy nodded to Ilo.

Ilo understood immediately. He stepped forward, and under the horrified, furious gazes of every Phantom Troupe member present, he raised his hand and brought it down, directly severing Chrollo's head.

A formidable overlord, an extremist terrorist, the leader of the Phantom Troupe, Chrollo had fallen.

Ilo's strike was especially clean and decisive.

Even Hisoka, who was resting off to the side because of his injuries from the explosion, felt his eyelids twitch at the sight, let alone the Phantom Troupe members, who looked like they were about to go mad.

"Boss!!!"

"You bastard!!!"

"I'm going to kill you all!!!"

Every one of them wore a savage expression, their bodies twisting irregularly.

But unfortunately, no matter how much they writhed, they could only lie on the ground, unable to stand up.

Roy had already sliced the tendons in their hands and feet, and Ilo had riddled their limbs with holes using Dodon Ray.

As their bodies twisted, the wounds that had only barely stopped bleeding split open again, and bloody foam began bubbling out. Several of them were sprawled together, and gradually a pool of blood formed beneath them.

Because of the excessive blood loss, everyone's face was beginning to turn pale, but none of them cared in the slightest. Every single one of them stared at Ilo with eyes that looked ready to devour a person whole, as if they wanted nothing more than to skin him alive, tear him to pieces, and eat him raw.

"How is it?" Roy asked Ilo directly, completely ignoring the stares of the Phantom Troupe members.

Ilo grinned. "A very good harvest. Chrollo was worth a lot. I got a very considerable amount of success points. Adding that to the points I earned earlier from killing the former Number 12, a lot of mafia members, and some points I had accumulated before, it should be enough for Roy-sama to complete the plan. And even if it still falls a little short, there are still plenty of mafia left in Yorknew City. That's more than enough!"

Success points!

This was the product of Ilo's unique Specialization-Type Nen ability, Successful Assassin.

To be honest, Roy had never expected Ilo to develop this kind of Nen ability.

Successful Assassin: By killing people, the user can obtain a certain number of success points. Success points can be used to increase the success rate of whatever one is trying to do. They can be used not only on the user, but also on other people.

Conditions:

1. The easier the killing process is and the lighter the injuries suffered, the more success points are gained.

2. The greater the strength, status, and fame of the person killed, the more success points are gained.

3. Success points cannot be used in battle or for killing. When used on the user themself, the effect is halved.

4. When used on others, the effect increases by 15%.

5. Once success points are consumed, they are not refunded even if the attempt fails.

6. On the same matter, success points can be used at most three times. If all three attempts fail, then even if more success points are spent, the success rate will no longer increase.

7. Only those personally killed by the user provide success points. If someone else does the killing, no points are gained.

8. Spending the same amount of success points increases the success rate by different amounts depending on the difficulty of the matter.

Those were the conditions and restrictions of Ilo's ability, but in the end, it had been developed entirely for the sake of serving Roy.

Still, the mere fact that it could increase the success rate of something was already ridiculously powerful.

The first seven points were easy enough to understand, and even the eighth was not hard to grasp.

For example, repairing a shoe and making a shoe were two different things. If you spent 50 success points on the former, you might increase the success rate by 50%. But the latter was obviously much more difficult than the former, so spending the same 50 success points might only increase the success rate by 15%.

So although this ability looked very powerful, its conditions were actually extremely harsh.

Just the method of obtaining success points alone made that obvious. If Ilo himself were not overwhelmingly powerful, how could he possibly gather a large amount of success points so easily?

Were the mafia, the Shadow Beasts, and the Phantom Troupe members the kind of people that could just be killed whenever one pleased?

Even if Chrollo had obtained this Nen ability, with his personality he would absolutely never take the initiative to hunt down powerful people or those with great fame and status. To Chrollo, this skill would be little more than a chicken rib.

The reason Ilo had developed such a Nen ability was to pair it with Roy's magic, that spell of Babidi's that could control the hearts of evil people.

Ever since Roy had obtained Saiyan bloodline and trained himself stronger, he had come to understand that magic on a deeper level.

And Ilo could apply success points to Roy's magic. With the two combined, the spell's success rate would definitely become extremely high!

The Phantom Troupe could be called evil through and through.

Using that magic on them was perfect.

As enforcers serving the future emperor of the underworld, the Phantom Troupe was ideally suited for the role.

With Babidi's mind-control magic, the more violently the target's emotions fluctuated and the more their mind was stimulated, the higher the spell's success rate would be.

And right now, every Troupe member present had personally watched the Boss they had always trusted, the man who had led them all this time, die so easily and so senselessly at the hands of this traitor. They simply could not accept that reality.

Pakunoda in particular.

As one of the old members who had followed Chrollo from the very beginning, her emotional turmoil at this moment was the strongest of all.

And the first person Roy intended to control was Pakunoda.

Once he controlled Pakunoda, he could then use her Memory Bomb to greatly disrupt the memories and minds of the other members, drastically increasing the magic's success rate.

At that moment, Roy and Ilo walked up to Pakunoda.

Sensing vaguely that Roy and the others were about to do something bad, the other Troupe members once again became even more agitated.

"Bastards! What are you planning to do to Paku?!"

"If you've got something to do, come at me!!"

"I'm definitely going to kill you! Definitely!!!"

"Yes, yes, you're going to kill us. I believe in your determination," Roy said in an extremely perfunctory tone. "But that's on the condition that you still have the ability to do so."

With that, he began to cast Babidi's Magic on Pakunoda...
