Chapter 2 - Static of the Crown

Elder Zara, as a Masani didn't use medicine; she used the Harmonic Force to bolster her Psionic abilities. She stood over Ahia, her hands tracing patterns in the air that left trails of soft violet light. Ahia lay on a stone plinth in the Sanctorum, her breath still coming in ragged hitches. The "Prismatic White" echo had faded, but it had left her Dapabie feeling bruised, like a muscle stretched beyond its limit.

"Your Heartstate is still oscillating at eighty-eight percent," Zara murmured, her brow furrowed. "Usually, a Noir's Empathite is a blessing. But your vessel is... drenched. It's as if someone poured an ocean into a tea cup."

"It wasn't mine," Ahia whispered, her voice cracking. "Elder, I felt a fury so cold it felt like ice. And a grief... I felt like I had lost a world."

Zara sighed, stepping back. She looked toward the high windows, where the sky of their realm was beginning to shimmer with the auroras of the Psychorealm.

"You aren't the only one complaining of 'spiritual noise,' Ahia. My peers in the Tohunga have noted a massive increase in Psychorealm static. They are calling it the Investiture Tremors."

Ahia sat up slowly, rubbing her temples. "The Investiture!"

"The ceremony is only weeks away," Zara explained, pacing the room. "The King of Kings is preparing to assume the full weight of the Seven Pillars. Think of the Belief System (Pillar 6) right now. Billions of souls are focusing their faith, fear, and expectation on one man. That much Huenergy—that much collective emotion—doesn't just sit still. It leaks. It creates storms in the Psychorealm."

Zara turned back to Ahia, placing a comforting hand on her shoulder. "Your Alive Heartstate makes you a natural conductor. You likely caught a stray 'wave' of the global anxiety. It's unfortunate, but as a Master Masani, you must learn to shield your Dapabie. If the Servitor Supreme's public transition is causing this much static, the Psychorealm will be a hurricane by the time he takes the throne."

Ahia nodded, though her Intuitive nature was screaming that this was more than 'static.' The Elder was talking about collective anxiety, but what Ahia felt had been singular.

Intimate.

"I need to understand the frequency of that leakage," Ahia said, her fingers finding her lips as her mind began to pace. "If I can map it, I can shield against it."

"Be careful, Ahia," Zara warned. "The Cyberrealm is already full of crazy theories about the Negusa Nagast's state of mind. Don't go chasing ghosts in the digital simalacrum."
