Chapter 47 - Chapter 47: Fletchinder vs. Ceruledge

The people on the lawn were still immersed in their team-building activity.

"Bang!!!" A gunshot shattered the silence of the clearing.

The soldiers jumped to their feet upon hearing the gunshot and looked toward the distance.

They quickly noticed the two men who had previously claimed they were going to the restroom.

They were firing as they advanced toward the main group.

...

Several young girls also noticed the commotion and hurriedly stood up.

Lin Siyu and Meng Xi wanted to go and check it out, but the sound of continuous gunfire rang out across the sky.

The two exchanged a glance, a bad premonition forming in their hearts; without time to hesitate, they hurried toward the scene.

Jiao Xiaoyan wanted to stop them, but they weren't paying attention.

...

"The three of you, step back! We'll hold off the enemy!"

Ye Jinnian and Jiao Wuyan had wanted to try and stop them, but after the sound of continuous gunfire, they had to temporarily abandon that thought.

Judging by Fei Xiao's previous live stream, now that a conflict had started, there was no way to determine if the other party would stop here.

It was also their fault for keeping things too secret; the people being escorted this time actually didn't know about the policies regarding Pokémon.

They could only leave it to the troops and hope they would stop the enemy first.

"Fire! Don't let it get close!"

"Whoosh!"

The dark shadow had fully entered everyone's field of vision.

It was indeed a magical beast, clad in black armor, with two swords made of strange flames for hands.

Furthermore, the creature was shrouded in a layer of eerie black aura; just looking directly at it was enough to feel an intense sense of negative emotion.

Bang, bang, bang!

Gunshots rang out continuously; the moment everyone saw the magical beast, they opened fire without hesitation, not wanting to give it any chance.

But a shocking scene unfolded before their eyes.

The humanoid black magical beast was moving with ease through the hail of bullets.

This completely exceeded their previous understanding of magical beasts.

It was agile enough to dodge bullets!

Seeing this, everyone broke out in a cold sweat, and a sense of fear quickly welled up and spread.

"Stay calm! Focus fire and shoot all at once!"

However, the soldiers weren't incompetent; the team leader quickly made adjustments and issued orders.

"Give it everything you've got!"

As the command fell, everyone unleashed their firepower.

The magical beast was instantly surrounded by a barrage of fire.

The magical beast scanned the front with contempt and continued to close in rapidly.

Just when everyone thought they had successfully hit the target, they noticed the flames on the creature's head raging.

In the blink of an eye, the flames coated its black armor.

The magical beast transformed into a ball of fire, moving even faster than before.

Countless bullets melted the instant they touched it, failing to stop its advance in the slightest.

"Whoosh."

While everyone was stunned, the magical beast had already reached the crowd.

"Get out of the way!"

But the magical beast swung its sword down; the blade, burning with purple flames, sliced through the ground like it was tofu, carving out a trench five or six zhang long.

Fortunately, thanks to the team leader's timely warning, no one had fallen in battle, aside from being slightly burned by the residual scattered flames.

The magical beast stood in the center of the crowd, then slowly retracted its long sword, its cold gaze scanning everyone wantonly.

At this moment, it felt as if one individual had surrounded dozens of people.

The magical beast didn't rush to act, instead standing casually in the center as if contemplating something.

It completely disregarded the soldiers before it.

Yet everyone only retreated slowly, not daring to run away quickly.

"Little Fire, use Flamethrower!"

The magical beast looked toward the sound.

A surging torrent of fire instantly engulfed it completely.

Everyone was shocked, thinking there were more enemies, and looked toward the source of the sound.

Two people and a bird quickly appeared before everyone's eyes.

The two were the girls from before, along with a dangerous magical beast.

But everyone looked vigilantly at the magical beast beside the girls.

"Wait, that's not an enemy!"

Jiao Xiaoyan caught up and, noticing everyone's gaze, immediately reminded them.

Although the other party was Elder Jiao's granddaughter, but...

"What are you all staring at? Hurry up and get away from there!"

Jiao Wuyan's angry roar came through.

Everyone hesitated for a moment, then finally chose to follow the order.

...

Everyone quickly left the battlefield.

Lin Siyu and Meng Xi stared intently at the thick smoke.

"It should be resolved, right?"

Lin Siyu said, her tone uncertain.

"It might not be that simple; hurry and check what kind of Pokémon it is."

Meng Xi frowned; that eerie feeling from the beginning hadn't disappeared, and she felt a faint sense of unease in her heart.

Sure enough.

The smoke cleared, and in the center of the scorched earth, that figure stood motionless.

What was surprising was that after taking the attack head-on, there wasn't a single mark on its entire body!

"Fletchinder."

Fletchinder looked at its opponent with a grave expression; its intuition told it that this Pokémon... was very strong.

"Little Fire, use Flamethrower again!"

A torrent of powerful flames erupted from Fletchinder's mouth.

The opponent still didn't move, allowing itself to be engulfed by the massive flames.

Meng Xi hadn't expected it to have absolutely no intention of dodging.

Could it be that it had deliberately chosen not to dodge earlier as well?

Clang, clang, clang.

A crisp sound of metallic clashing came from within.

The people fleeing also noticed this scene.

The magical beast was walking forward easily, step by step, enduring flames that no ordinary person could withstand.

It was as if it couldn't feel this heatwave at all.

Fletchinder was also forced to stop its attack, no longer wasting stamina.

Jiao Xiaoyan and the soldiers stared at the monster before them, dumbfounded.

At the same moment, a familiar loli voice rang out.

"I found it! Ceruledge, wearing old armor steeped in grudge, carries swords formed from fire and ghost energy. The fire swords on its arms burn with the grudges of a swordsman who fell before achieving their ambitions. Once battle begins, the firepower increases, turning into greatswords that mercilessly cut down enemies. Once struck by these greatswords, the target suffers wounds that cause life energy to drain away. It possesses a personality that will not hesitate to use underhanded tactics like sucker punches or ambushes to win a battle. It prefers close-quarters combat, utilizing the opponent's blind spots to close the distance with agile movements and strike with its greatswords."

Lin Siyu carefully checked the information on the opponent and finally discovered the problem.

She spoke in a flustered tone.

"Meng Xi, be careful! The opponent is a Fire and Ghost type. More importantly, the pokédex says Ceruledge has an ability called Flash Fire. The Flash Fire ability grants immunity to Fire-type moves and boosts the power of its own Fire-type skills."

Meng Xi was slightly surprised upon hearing this, and her expression became grave.

Jiao Xiaoyan didn't understand, but based on previous gaming experience, she roughly understood how tricky the situation was.

No wonder the Flamethrower earlier had no effect; it seemed they had shot themselves in the foot.

This meant they couldn't use Fire-type skills to attack the opponent.

This was a bit disadvantageous for Fletchinder!

While Meng Xi's brain was racing, Ceruledge finally began to move.

It ran quickly toward Fletchinder.
