Chapter 11 - The Truth Comes Out

Chapter 11

The rival gang had fled.

The wounded were being carried into vehicles, and the sound of sirens echoed faintly in the distance.

But inside the black SUV speeding back to headquarters…

The silence was far more dangerous.

Yumi Sato sat in the back seat, pressing a cloth against the cut on her arm.

Across from her, Ryuji Takeda hadn't spoken a single word.

He simply stared out the window.

His expression calm.

Too calm.

Anyone who knew him would recognize it immediately.

That silence meant someone was about to die.

When they arrived at the syndicate headquarters, Ryuji stepped out of the car without looking back.

"Take her to the medical room," one of the guards said.

Yumi frowned.

"I'm fine—"

"You heard the boss," the guard interrupted.

Yumi watched Ryuji disappear into the building.

Something about his expression at the port bothered her.

It wasn't just anger.

It was something colder.

More precise.

Like he already knew something.

Meanwhile, inside the main conference room…

Every high-ranking member of the syndicate had been summoned.

No one knew why.

But everyone felt the tension.

The doors suddenly opened.

Ryuji Takeda walked in.

The entire room stood immediately.

He took his seat at the head of the table.

His eyes slowly scanned the room.

Then they stopped.

On Keiko Nakamura.

She looked calm.

Composed.

Exactly the way she always did.

"Sit," Ryuji said quietly.

Everyone obeyed.

The room was silent.

Then Ryuji placed a small recording device on the table.

Keiko's stomach tightened slightly.

"Before we begin," Ryuji said calmly, "I'd like to ask a question."

His gaze moved slowly across the room.

"Who authorized the port mission tonight?"

No one spoke.

Because everyone knew the answer.

Finally one of the captains said carefully,

"It was scheduled through Captain Nakamura's division."

All eyes turned toward Keiko.

She didn't flinch.

"Yes," she said calmly. "It was a routine escort mission."

Ryuji nodded slightly.

"Interesting."

He pressed a button on the recording device.

The room filled with sound.

Keiko's voice.

Clear.

Cold.

"If she dies there, the boss will think it was an accident."

The color drained from Keiko's face.

The recording continued.

"There's a shipment leaving the port tomorrow night… and Yumi Sato dies heroically during the mission."

The room exploded into shocked murmurs.

Ryuji turned the device off.

Silence fell again.

Heavy.

Terrifying.

Keiko slowly stood.

"Boss, I—"

"Stop."

The single word cut through the room like a blade.

Ryuji stood as well.

But he moved slowly.

Calmly.

Which somehow made it worse.

He walked around the table until he stood directly in front of her.

Keiko forced herself not to step back.

"You tried to kill someone under my protection," he said quietly.

"It wasn't about her!" Keiko snapped.

The room froze.

Her voice shook with emotion.

"I did everything for you!"

Her eyes burned.

"I fought beside you for years! I helped build this organization!"

Her hand clenched into a fist.

"And now you protect some girl who just appeared out of nowhere?"

Ryuji's expression didn't change.

"Correct."

The word hit like a slap.

Keiko stared at him.

"You're choosing her?"

Ryuji's gaze hardened.

"No."

His voice was cold.

"I'm choosing discipline."

The next moment happened so fast no one reacted.

Ryuji grabbed Keiko by the collar and slammed her against the table.

The entire room went silent.

His voice dropped dangerously low.

"You betrayed my trust."

Keiko trembled slightly.

But she still glared at him.

"You're blinded by her."

Ryuji's grip tightened.

His eyes darkened in a way that made several captains look away.

"Maybe."

His voice became colder.

"But that still doesn't give you permission to decide who lives or dies."

He released her suddenly.

Keiko collapsed slightly against the table.

Breathing hard.

Ryuji turned away.

"For ten years you've served this organization," he said calmly.

"That's the only reason you're still alive."

The room held its breath.

"From this moment on…"

His voice echoed through the room.

"You are stripped of your rank."

Keiko's eyes widened.

"You can't be serious."

Ryuji looked back at her.

"I am."

His voice became final.

"You're exiled from this syndicate."

Gasps spread across the room.

Exile meant losing everything.

Power.

Protection.

Status.

Keiko stared at him in disbelief.

"All because of her?"

Ryuji's eyes flickered slightly.

Then he said something that shocked the entire room.

"Yes."

The word echoed in the silence.

Because everyone suddenly understood something.

Something terrifying.

Yumi Sato wasn't just another recruit.

She had become something far more dangerous.

She had become someone Ryuji Takeda was willing to destroy his own organization for.

And that kind of obsession…

Never ended well.
