"Dude, you forgot to say the iconic line again!" Angra Mainyu shouted.
"She just suddenly appeared and I wasn't prepared at all. How can you blame me?" Vincent argued back.
If you're curious about what that phrase was, go ask Kirei. I'm sure he'll gladly give you his blessing.
"By the way, where did you learn all that philosophical stuff? It sounded really impressive," Angra asked curiously.
"When I was designing the Beast servant, it suddenly said a few lines and I was instantly hooked."
"For real?"
"For real real, also hurry up and show me how the Masters are doing."
"All right."
The two of them sat down on the sofa. Vincent shook out his hair, instantly reverting to a form that looked exactly like Yu Narukami. If he put on glasses now, he'd be identical.
However, just before Angra activated the screen, he realized something.
"Aren't you supposed to be going to school?"
...?
Vincent looked at Angra as if he had just heard a question that made him question his entire existence.
"...Dude, we're inside a time loop that you created. Do any of those things even affect the outside world?"
"Ah, right! Gomene!"
"Die you damn ape."
With that, Angra turned on the projection screen. The first scene that greeted them was Berserker fighting against a Shadow Servant.
"Huh?" Both Vincent and Angra were surprised.
Most Shadow Servants only appeared inside Singularities, usually as the bosses of those Singularities.
This one had already entered a Singularity? Was this lucky or unlucky?
"Gyahh!" Berserker dodged the barrage of Noble Phantasms being fired at him. More projectiles kept coming from different directions.
...Actually, it was still unlucky, because the one he was fighting was the golden Archer. No matter what form this Shadow Servant took, the quality of the Noble Phantasms he fired remained exactly the same. Yeah, he's so cook.
"Hmph! Don't mess with me! Getting blasted into the sky and falling into a Singularity was one thing, but now I have to fight a bastard like you again! I'll show you that even if I'm not a Lancer, I can still defeat you—"
"Mongrel dog," the Shadow Servant said calmly.
"WHO THE HELL ARE YOU CALLING A DOG?!"
Whoa, Shadow Servants normally shouldn't be able to speak, but that golden Archer massive ego allowed the fake one get a real personality to leak through unconsciously.
Also, he was angry about being called a "dog" instead of "Zasshu"?
"TAKE THIS! GAE BOLG—"
"Change the channel, Angra. I don't want to watch that dog fight anymore," Vincent replied calmly.
"WHO THE FUCK JUST CALLED ME A DOG— GYAAHH!!" The Alter version got bombarded by a hail of Noble Phantasms the moment he got distracted.
Poor guy. Anyway, let's see what the others are doing!
Switching channels, this time it was Lancer and his Master.
And they were... building the walls of Troy.
"...Huh?"
Wait, hold on. Instead of going out to search for Singularities and loot, why are you building your hometown? Are you trying to create a territorial advantage to boost your power? But this isn't even Greece...? (It's wall of Troy from Greece?)
"Hey Lancer, is building it like this really okay?"
"It's fine. We're building a beautiful and sturdy wall while also creating an advantage for myself. Why wouldn't I build it? Besides, the person paying us hasn't complained at all."
"But what he wanted was just a house, not a massive wall like this..."
"Then tell him to change his taste," Lancer said, taking a drag from his cigarette.
"...Angra, change the channel."
This time it was Rider, and he...
"WOOHOOO!!" He and the group of monsters he had tamed were all riding motorcycles, dressed like yakuza gangsters with signature pompadour hairstyles. Who knows if he had any crazy diamond on him?
"...The heck? A biker gang?"
Especially Rider — he had the longest protruding part of his pompadour, wore an extra-long jacket, and rocked a pair of stylish sunglasses.
What the hell is this guy doing? Isn't he worried about tonight at all?
"Help me! There's a thief!!" An old lady screamed as the thief ran away with her bag.
What would someone with a strong sense of justice like Rider do when he saw this scene?
"WHERE ARE YOU GUYS?! THERE'S FREE LOOT OVER THERE, GO ROB IT NOW!"
That's right. He robbed both the thief and the old lady. One-for-one deal. Why turn down free stuff?
The monsters immediately sped up, snatched the bags from both the thief and the old lady, and the whole gang disappeared in a flash.
...The pirate blood truly never leaves the veins, huh?
Angra switched the channel again.
The Master of Archer was still chilling as if nothing bad was going to happen tonight. She really seemed way too naive for such a brutal war.
The Master of Assassin and Assassin themselves still hadn't made any moves. Their movements were very secretive and fitting for the Assassin class (which was literally made for Assassins of course).
As for the Master of Saber and Saber, they were a bit special.
How should I put it? They felt a little... like a shounen protagonist? Even though he was already close to 30, basically in seinen territory (shounen for young people, seinen for middle-aged adults).
"He has a lot of potential," Angra said.
"No, stop, just... Don't say that word, never again."
"...He has a lot of promise?"
"Yes, that's better."
I've been kind of traumatized by the word "potential" lately. It used to sound cool and full of aura, but now it just feels like a backhanded insult. JJK fans really are a different species. I even doubt whether they're actually human.
Ah, never mind. They probably can't even read. Even if I insult them here, they might not be able to read this anyway.
"What the hell are you thinking about?" Angra asked Vincent.
"Nothing."
"Okay? Look, the Master of Saber... what's his name again? Oh right, Robert. He's waking up."
'Robert Judgeson,' Vincent thought to himself.
Needless to say, out of all the Masters here, he was clearly the one I least expected.
It was like Angra had scanned him and chosen him as a Master, saying something about a darkness eating away at his heart, and that he would have the best character development if he could let go of it.
And wow, Angra wasn't wrong. Just yesterday I already saw how courageous his actions were.
His character development potential is really high— I mean, my hopes for his character development are really high. I hope I won't be disappointed.
Also, he'll have a rival. Angra has already chosen one, and that person is also a Master here.
I'm quite looking forward to those two killing each other because of their completely different ways of thinking.
"Need anything else?"
Vincent scratched his head, "It seems pretty peaceful right now."
"Dude, the next few days that you designed are basically going to turn into hell. Do you really want the first few days to become hell too? I'm evil, but I'm not *that* evil."
"Ugh, fine. You know I'm pretty impatient..."
Anyway... Let's wait and see how they handle the Beast tonight.
