Chapter 0: World Setting and Introduction

———————World Setting———————

Numen - A mysterious power that manifest on humans ranging from age 13-20. The power that will manifest differ from people to people some can even gain double to triple Numen which is extremely rare and they are called Polyumen.

Lapsus - Were called to those people who were late to awaken their Numen, however this kind of people are often disregarded by society for they would only awaken a weaker version of Numen.

Supreme Castellan - The supreme leaders of Sanctum who lived at the center walls. They consist of the Imperial family, High Military officers, Head of Numen tower[1], High Priest and Saints.

Soul - The source of Numen power where it would decides what power a person can get. If their soul is weak then Numen would not manifest to them however if they force they're way out only a small percent of Numen would come out, causing them to became Lapsus and cause a serious danger in their Soul.

Ferrum - A weapon forge from the strongest ore found in Verrucis, a cave where powerful and mysterious ore were found to create Ferrum. It is used in combat while embodying it with Numen to further assist it's user.

Sanctum - A massive dome separating humanity from the outside world. Is currently divided into five walls with each of them having their own unique features that protected them for millennium against the Hollow.

Hollow - Creatures that emerged from the depths of the abyss for as long as humanity has lived. This creatures are mindless being who attack any creatures they saw on sight to the point that they would even go as attacking their own if certain circumstances occurs.

Essentia- If humanity possess Numen, then Hollow hold Essentia. Their source of power but unlike Numen it corrupt it's user to the point of madness, however it's origin remains unknown.

Power Level:

Tier 1: Paragon, Numen user who have already mastered their power to the max.

Tier 2: Ascendent, Numen user who have reached an extraordinary in using their power.

Tier 3: Vanguard, Elite combatants who were given difficult and almost impossible missions.

Tier 4: Adept, Trained soldiers capable of fighting.

Tier 5: Awakened, Newly awakened Numen users, with or without knowledge in fighting.

Tier 6: Lapsus, people who forced to awaken their Numen.

Tier 7: Civilian, Average/Normal people who didn't awakened a Numen.

Overview:

A young girl who would awakened a rare Numen ability that manifests as powerful threads. Though she remembers her life clearly, strange dreams continue to haunt her, visions that feel far too vivid to simply be imagination. As she trains and grows stronger, Elsie finds herself drawn toward mysteries that seem strangely connected to her fate.

Overview:

Though he rarely seeks attention, his presence on the battlefield often signals that the situation is far more serious than it first appears.

Overview:

The ruler of Sanctum, tasked with protecting humanity from the threats beyond its walls. Percival is a tactical genius whose decisions carry the weight of countless lives. Though his leadership is steady and commanding, those who oppose him quickly learn that his authority is absolute.

Overview:

A being that appeared to be on the Hollow sides, they appear very similar to that of a human appearance but their goals and objectives seems to differ to humanity as they continue to slaughter and cause havoc around Sanctum.

Veyrith – A dark metallic ore, plentiful in shallow veins, known for its dependable durability. Warriors and craftsmen prize it for basic weapons and armor.

Strength: sturdy and reliable

Weakness: lacks the power to enhance advanced Numen abilities.

Cindralith – Deep crimson and heavy, it enhances raw physical strength. Easily mined, it is often favored by soldiers beginning their Ferrum training.

Strength: boosts physical attacks.

Weakness: cannot channel complex Numen or elemental power.

Noctralis Shard – Black, glossy, and slightly cold to the touch. Enhances shadow and stealth techniques. Frequently ignored by novice miners for its subtle effects.

Strength: excels in stealth and subtle attacks.

Weakness: weak against light, fire, or elemental Numen.

Uncommon Ores

Luminite – Pale and radiant, with a faint inner glow. Perfect for enhancing light-based Numen, often used by mid-level warriors and mages.

Strength: amplifies light powers.

Weakness: fragile and prone to cracking under heavy force.

Aetherion – A faintly glowing ore, prized for channeling multiple Numen at once. Difficult to extract safely, making it valuable for skilled users.

Strength: versatile amplification.

Weakness: unstable for inexperienced hands.

Serracite – Crystalline with razor-sharp natural edges. Ideal for precise Ferrum weapons.

Strength: cutting ability and accuracy.

Weakness: brittle under extreme force, requires careful crafting.

Rare Ores

Vorran – A humming, unstable ore that vibrates with energy. Known for drastically enhancing speed and reflexes. Only the confident dare to handle it.

Strength: lightning-fast strikes.

Weakness: dangerous if mishandled, can injure the wielder.

Obsidar – Deep black with veins of glowing Essentia, almost mythical in origin. Grants immense offensive power and control over Essentia-based attacks.

Strength: offensive power, Essentia mastery.

Weakness: extremely rare, forging mistakes can ruin it.

Ecliptium – Silver-black, reacts to celestial and cosmic energies. Often sought by elite warriors who want to enhance elemental attacks.

Strength: amplifies elemental and cosmic Numen.

Weakness: unpredictable and difficult to control, requires mastery.

Legendary Ores

Auracite – Rainbow-hued ore that shimmers like a prism. Capable of maximizing multi-Numen mastery, nearly impossible to mine in pure form.

Strength: unparalleled amplification.

Weakness: exceedingly rare and hard to fully harness.

Celestine – Glows like distant stars trapped in stone. Channels celestial-level power, revered by Ruler-level Ferrum users.

Strength: celestial attacks.

Weakness: unstable outside very specific conditions, dangerous for the untrained.

Umbryss – Void-infused, dark as the deepest night. Grants unmatched mastery over shadow and Essentia, feared even by elite warriors.

Strength: darkness and Essentia manipulation.

Weakness: extremely corrupting, can overwhelm even the most powerful wielder.

[1] A type of an organization that focuses on growing and learning more about the Numen and it's origin. Scholars and Professor who graduated at the top from the Academy of Enstella are the one allowed to work here, not even the Imperial family could enter this place easily.
