Chapter 47 - Chapter 47: The Auction

Yeah! What was she doing just now? That feeling couldn't be wrong—it was satisfaction. Had she inherited another habit from Raiden Ei?

Raiden Ei felt she could control her mind now. She didn't want to become like Big Mom, going into a frenzy if she couldn't eat cake. However, she didn't know if inheriting Raiden Ei's love for sweets was a good or bad thing.

Raiden Ei thought about it and decided to stop overthinking; she would cross that bridge when she came to it. She said to Quark, "It's fine, go ahead and eat!" Quark could only nod and began eating the cake and sweets.

Raiden Ei ate a few more sweets and still found them delicious, but she could manage without them. She put down the sweet in her hand and called over a Waitress.

Waitress: "Do you need anything?"

Raiden Ei wanted to pack some sweets for later, but she felt that ordering 100 portions might not be enough. She said to the Waitress, "1,000 portions of sweets to go."

Both Quark and the Waitress looked at her in shock. Raiden Ei was indifferent to their surprise and asked calmly, "Is there a problem?"

The Waitress quickly bowed respectfully. "I'm sorry, I'll go arrange that for you right away."

By the time they finished the cake and sweets on the table, two hours had passed. Then, several waitresses came over carrying several large boxes. "Miss, here are the 1,000 portions of sweets you wanted to take away."

"Check, please. How many Berries in total?"

The Waitress stated the amount she had calculated earlier: "It's a total of 2,650,000 Berries."

Raiden Ei took out the Berries from her system backpack and handed them to the Waitress, then said to Quark, who was sitting nearby, "Let's go!"

Quark immediately followed, intending to help her carry the boxes of sweets, but Raiden Ei was one step ahead and had already put them all into her backpack. They walked out of the cake shop's front door.

Outside, the sky was near dusk, and the number of pedestrians on the street had actually increased. Raiden Ei turned to look at Quark. "Shouldn't you be going home now?"

Quark was a bit hesitant; he felt he hadn't been much help today. "Sister Raiden Ei, I can continue being your guide."

"No need. You've already explained a lot about this kingdom to me. Do you have a map of this kingdom? Just give me one."

Quark could only nod and took out a map he had bought from a shop, handing it to Raiden Ei. "I bought this from a shop. I've walked through many places on the map; it's real."

Raiden Ei took it. She hadn't really considered the possibility of fake maps, but thinking about how there were fake treasure maps in One Piece, it seemed she should verify whether any treasure map she encountered in the future was fake.

She took out 100,000 Berries from her backpack and handed them to Quark. "This is your Reward for today."

Quark hadn't intended to take a Reward; he had also eaten a lot of cake just now, and he felt Raiden Ei was definitely losing out by hiring him as a guide. "Ah! No... no need, Sister Raiden Ei. You treated me to so many cakes, I don't need a Reward."

Raiden Ei stuffed it directly into his hand. "Take it. This is just a small amount of money to me."

Quark was a bit conflicted. "But this is too much. Then I'll continue being your guide tomorrow!"

"No need. To me, the information you provided is worth this price. As for tomorrow, don't come. I already have a general understanding of the situation here." Raiden Ei... she didn't want to drag a kid around every day.

Quark was a bit disappointed. "Alright then! Goodbye, Sister Raiden Ei!"

Raiden Ei nodded. "Goodbye. Go home quickly; it's a bit unsafe when it gets late."

After Quark left, Raiden Ei looked at the map, slowly memorizing some important locations. "The Kendo Hall isn't far from here, but night is approaching. I'll go tomorrow instead. Let's check out a hotel first!"

Having decided on her goal, Raiden Ei set off for the largest hotel, the Ankara Hotel. She had money and some strength now, so naturally, she wanted to stay at the best hotel and see what the top-tier hotels in this country were like.

The hotel was a bit far. Raiden Ei ignored the stares of others and quickened her pace, finally arriving at the Ankara Hotel before night fully fell.

As the most famous hotel in the kingdom, it was naturally extraordinary. It was magnificent, with gold everywhere you looked, exquisite and massive furnishings, and neatly dressed staff all around.

Raiden Ei had never been to such a luxurious place. As soon as she reached the entrance, a beautiful Waitress came over to ask her, "Hello, are you here to stay?"

"Yes. Are there other services here?"

The beautiful Waitress: "Of course. This way, please. Those who stay here are all wealthy and influential figures. If you have any needs, we can fulfill them for you."

Raiden Ei followed the Waitress to handle the check-in and thought the place was decent. However, she didn't care much about that; she was just here to broaden her horizons. She spent 3,000,000 Berries to book the most expensive room.

The Waitress had a warm smile on her face. "Miss, your room is this way. Please follow me."

Raiden Ei followed the Waitress to the room.

Waitress: "Miss Raiden Ei, do you need any service? Or do you have any requests?"

Raiden Ei thought for a moment. "No service is necessary!"

Waitress: "Then would you like to attend our auction tonight?"

Raiden Ei was a bit curious. "An auction?"

Waitress: "It's like this: we hold an auction once a month in collaboration with the Simba Chamber of Commerce. The items auctioned are collected from various places across the sea. Are you interested?"

Raiden Ei felt it wouldn't hurt to take a look, since she had nothing else to do here anyway. "Alright, when does it start?"

Waitress: "The auction has already begun. To enter the auction, you need to apply to the manager. The minimum requirement to enter the auction hall is 50,000,000 Berries. If you need, I'll go apply for you now."

Raiden Ei had 240,000,000 Berries from selling the ship and the pirate bounties; 50,000,000 was nothing. "Fine, go apply."

Seeing Raiden Ei's interest, the Waitress didn't dare waste any time. "Alright, please follow me."

Raiden Ei followed the Waitress to a large hall. She could hear shouting from inside, but this time she didn't use Observation Haki to investigate the hall's situation. It was better to be cautious in this unfamiliar place.

Waitress: "Please wait here for a moment. I'll go apply and be right back."

Raiden Ei watched as the Waitress spoke with the guards outside the door and then entered the hall. She observed her surroundings; there were quite a few people patrolling the area, all holding guns to guard the security of the place.

Raiden Ei had only stood there for a short while when the Waitress returned with a man in a suit. "I'm sorry to have kept you waiting."

The man in the suit didn't have the Waitress's etiquette. Seeing Raiden Ei's aura, he knew she wasn't an ordinary person and spoke directly: "Miss, you need 50,000,000 Berries to enter the auction hall. I need to verify if you are qualified to enter."
