Chapter 138 - — Fan Creations, Analysis by a Master Lore Theorist

In the video, a cartoon version of the massive Azhdaha burst out from the ground.

He then transformed into a chibi young man with dragon horns, standing alongside equally chibi versions of Qiu Nian and Zhongli.

The three walked side by side through the streets of Liyue Harbor.

A cheerful tune accompanied by a nursery rhyme began to play, and the scenery shifted to Dihua Marsh.

As the scene changed again and again, they eventually arrived at Guili Plains.

There, a chibi version of Guizhong—designed based on the uploader's own interpretation—joined the group.

When the scene transitioned to Jueyun Karst, a chibi version of the adeptus who moved mountains and guided the heavens also joined them.

Finally, they arrived before the ancient tree.

At this point, the tree had become a massive crater—formed after Azhdaha broke free.

The camera focused on the five chibi figures.

Then, Guizhong, the adeptus, and Azhdaha slowly drifted away from Qiu Nian and Zhongli, stopping beneath the tree.

Guizhong and Azhdaha turned back, smiling as they waved.

The adeptus gave a small jump.

At that moment, the three chibi figures, along with the cartoon style and nursery rhyme, all faded away.

In their place, a solemn melody from Qingyun Peak began to play.

The ancient tree still stood silently.

The camera slowly pulled back, revealing the backs of Qiu Nian and Zhongli.

Their robes fluttered gently in the breeze.

Then, the screen gradually faded to black.

The video ended.

The comments below the video were flooded with reactions:

[I'm already hurting and you stab me again at the end?!]

[This was insanely well made!]

[Thank god Guixu returned to Liyue, otherwise Zhongli would be way too lonely]

[Damn, this hurt…]

[Time passes, the world changes, the branches of the ancient tree grow tall, covering an old story lost to time]

[Guizhong and Azhdaha's chibi designs are so cute—did the uploader come up with them? (sparkly eyes)]

And this was only one of many high-quality fan creations.

There were recreations of the ancient battle between Morax and Azhdaha.

There were also countless meme videos.

For example, one titled "Severely Injured."

It first showed Qiu Nian claiming that he was seriously injured, weaker than any of the Seven, and unable to cross the ocean to Inazuma.

Then at the end—

Qiu Nian casually flipped his hand and crushed an Azhdaha fragment instantly.

Right after that, a pair of sunglasses appeared on his face.

Another one was titled "Teyvat Version of The Mermaid."

Tartaglia rushed into a police station, panting as he sat down at a desk.

"Mr. Tartaglia, hello, hello."

"How can we assist you?"

Zhongli stepped out from behind the counter and sat across from him, shaking his hand.

Beside Zhongli sat Qiu Nian.

"What I'm about to say… you must not be afraid."

Tartaglia warned after catching his breath.

"We are consultants of Wangsheng Funeral Parlor. We are not afraid."

"Please, go on."

Zhongli replied calmly.

"I was just… one-shot by an ancient god."

Tartaglia said.

Qiu Nian and Zhongli exchanged a glance—

Then immediately leaned back in synchronized shock.

"Which ancient god?" Zhongli asked.

"Not which one—the ancient gods from the Archon War era!"

Tartaglia clarified.

Qiu Nian quickly sketched a crude drawing of Osial and held it up.

Videos like these were everywhere—ridiculous, chaotic, and hilarious.

At the same time, many lore theorists began analyzing the story.

Among them, a well-known analyst released:

"Qiu Nian / Guixu Character Study VI."

"Qiu Nian, also known as Guixu, is a mysterious god of unknown origin."

"First, let's analyze 'erosion.' The original story already explains it quite clearly."

"There are two types of erosion—one originating from the Heavenly Principles, and one from the self."

"Azhdaha, due to his innate nature, cannot retain memories for long. This is his inherent erosion."

At this point, the analyst displayed a quote from the original story:

"Stone does not hold memory for long. Only the most intense emotions remain."

"The longer time passes, the more memories fade."

"Erosion is the fuse imposed upon him by the world."

After showing the quote, the analyst continued:

"The following is purely my personal speculation."

"Qiu Nian stated that the stronger the emotion, the more extreme it becomes after erosion."

"However, even as Azhdaha's inherent erosion worsened, he should still retain his strongest emotions."

"This should include his contract with Morax."

"So why did he still lose control?"

"What we discussed earlier was only his inherent erosion."

"Next—erosion imposed by the Heavenly Principles."

"My guess is that Azhdaha's retained emotions alone wouldn't have caused him to go berserk."

"It was the erosion imposed by the Heavenly Principles that further eroded even those strongest emotions."

"That is what drove him into madness and led to his battle with Morax."

"To summarize Azhdaha's erosion:"

Inherent erosion:

As a being born of Geo, he cannot retain memories—only the strongest emotions remain.

Erosion from the Heavenly Principles:

This further erodes even those remaining emotions, making them extreme, distorted, and more likely to go against his original self.

"This aligns with Qiu Nian's statement—"

"Azhdaha's erosion comes not only from the Heavenly Principles, but also from the world itself."

"Doesn't that make things much clearer?"

"Now, let's extend this idea to other characters."

Xiao:

The lingering resentment of defeated gods affecting his mind—this can be seen as his own form of erosion.

Zhongli:

"To walk the correct path, one must constantly give things up, constantly lose things."

Over time, emotions fade—this is Zhongli's own erosion.

In other words, everything he experienced as the Geo Archon—his entire story—is his erosion.

"Thus, each person's erosion is different."

"In Zhongli's story quest, when Qiu Nian faced both the malicious fragment of Azhdaha…"

"And the fading benevolent fragment…"

"He said the same thing."

The analyst then played the original voice lines:

To the malicious fragment:

"We shall meet again someday."

To the benevolent fragment:

"You must have already sensed it—we will meet again one day, and that day is not far."

"When that time comes, Morax and I will share a pot of fine tea with you…"
