Having some free time, I decided to write down some explanations regarding the settings of hunter x hunter.
This is to explain things for those who haven't read hunter x hunter or haven't read it in a long time, so you won't be confused later on...
Hmm... some people also asked me to rank all the characters. I thought about it for a long time and decided not to. Once a ranking is released, it will 100% cause controversy; some will agree, while others will think it's wrong, pleasing no one...
These are the latest settings, which fill in the loopholes left behind previously; for example, Sliva was originally set as a Transmuter, but in the latest settings, it has been changed to an Emitter.
In the latest setting guidebook, Yoshihiro Togashi added a few settings.
1. Nen Type Center Point. Note: A Nen User's innate System is no longer limited to a single type.
2. Nen Ability Cultivation Level and Attribute Circle
Let me briefly explain what this is about:
Some Nen Users may be at the center point of two types.
Explanation: Although there is usually only one innate Nen type, there are also users located at the center point of two Nen types.
They can effectively learn the abilities of two Nen types.
Although users at the center point can effectively Cultivate two types, it is difficult for them to reach the [Peak].
If users located at the center point Cultivate their innate Nen type for a long time, they may also enter the Attribute Circle.
Characters at the Nen type center point include:
Franklin: Emitter and Enhancer center point user.
Kite, Hanzo: Transmuter and Conjurer center point users.
Melody: Emitter and Manipulator center point user.
Kurapika: Specialist and Conjurer center point user.
Killua, Machi: Transmuter and Enhancer center point users.
Nen Ability has 4 levels of System Cultivation evaluation: Poor < Fair < Gifted < Peak.
Note: Poor is the lowest, and Peak is the highest evaluation.
These are called [Attribute Circles]; the closer to the center, the higher the Cultivation level.
This evaluation synthesizes innate Cultivation speed, physical ability, mental ability, etc., to assess the character's [current] state, and does not refer to the strength of specific abilities.
Even a user rated as [Gifted] could, due to insufficient Cultivation or other reasons, easily drop to a [Fair] or [Poor] rating in an instant.
[Peak] represents that the user has reached the highest point of Cultivation technique, not innate talent.
Users located within a specific System's [Attribute Circle] all have the potential to reach the [Peak], which touches the true essence of that System.
Whether a user can reach the [Peak] depends not only on their own efforts but also on luck and other such Opportunities.
Nen Users who have reached the [Peak] include:
Enhancer: Chairman Netero, Gon after forced growth.
Emitter: Ant King Meruem, Zeno Zoldyck.
Transmuter: Biscuit.
Manipulator: No one has reached the Peak yet.
Conjurer: Abengane (the Nen Exorcist in the Greed Island arc who removed the Seal Kurapika placed on Chrollo).
Specialist: Nanika (Killua's younger sibling, an overpowered wish-granting machine).
As for Ging Freecss, it is currently unknown; his strength is unknown, and his Nen Ability is unknown.
Perhaps my explanation is still not very clear, and there might be omissions or errors. Please bear with me. I will also post a few pictures showing the evaluation of the characters that have appeared.
In short, the new settings are very complex and need to be read several times to be understood. The protagonist, Leo, is currently at the [Gifted] evaluation.
