Chapter 1 - The Unknown Guy

Rintaro didn't understand what to think of him.

Rintaro had been living in Birch village for the past 10 years.

Birch village was a friendly village of healers which helped every traveler which that came there looking for a place to rest and some medical help.

Rintaro had been living in that village and helping people for the past 10 years. He was an A-Grade healer and had retired from the constant wars between humans and Demons.

Now he was staying in the birch village for past 10 years helping people like the village people did.

But he had never seen a man like Zake before.

Zake was 6 feet tall and had an athletic body.

He had a handsome face with blue eyes and silver white hairs.

He wasn't a warrior so he didn't have any powers, pretty much nothing about him felt unusual...except he was perfect.

Yes, that is what Rintaro thought.

Zake was too perfect for a human being. He just didn't seem normal to Rintaro. Zake had now been staying in the Birch village for past 2 weeks and he never seemed weak, he helped all the people who came there, he entertained the healers of the Birch village and was never out of energy or felt tired.

It would have been a little acceptable if he would have been a healer of the village, but he was a traveler and he wasn't supposed to do these kinds of things.

All the travelers who came there were always very tired and wanted to just use the place so that they could heal themselves.

And no one stayed there for more than 1 week.

Even the worst injured person would be healed in 1 week and go away to complete their journey. But Zake was just there helping everyone and being kind to everyone. He wasn't even injured or wanted to rest. He just stayed there with everyone else, always joyful, always smiling.

To a normal person it would seem like Zake is just a normal person, but Rintaro knew better than that.

Zake wasn't perfect, no one is perfect.

He was just acting to be perfect.

Why?

Rintaro wanted to ask Zake why? Why was he acting because he didn't even have to do it.

What was the cause for doing it?

It was pretty rare to find people who would do this much for people they don't even know.

Even Rintaro was also helping just because the Birch village provided him a place to stay, food and water.

But the thing which mattered the most was that the Birch village was protected by the healer god Arnos.

Arnos was the God of healers and very few villages were given protection by the Gods.

The village which the Gods protected weren't attacked by the Demons because the God were powerful enough to end the whole Demon race.

So why didn't they just finish the entire Demon race?

Why would they?

To them humans and demons are just like cats and dogs. It's not like it matters to them which one ends whom. They don't discriminate between humans and demon. There are Demon villages too which are protected by Gods.

Why they protect some villages? No one knows.

Zake noticed Rintaro staring at him.

"Yes? You want my help" Zake asked Rintaro.

"No, I'm good" Rintaro replied.

They were at the resting house and were helping the travelers with their stuff.

"By the way, I would like to talk to you after my job is done" Rintaro said "Can we talk after this?"

"Yeah sure, why not" Zake smiled.

At 8pm after their work was over, they went to Rintaro's home and sat down to talk.

"Yeah, what did you wanted to talk about?" Zake asked Rintaro.

"Why are you doing this?" Rintaro asked.

"Doing what?"

"Helping others when you don't need to!" Rintaro almost shouted.

Rintaro didn't know the reason Zake was being so friendly with everyone, something about Zake didn't seem right. He just didn't know what….

"Oh that! I just want to help people who are in need of help" Zake smiled.

Rintaro knew that wasn't the truth but he just couldn't do anything to prove it.

After that both of them just had a normal conversation about the war and the things happening around them.

Zake went to the resting house after their conversation. The village didn't give him a house to stay, he had to pay for his own food and residence. The village couldn't provide him any facilities because he wasn't a healer.

After sometime a news spread around the village.

The healer god Arnos was coming after a few days in the village to meet Zake.

He had heard about Zake staying in the village and helping others without getting anything in return. The god wanted to see what type of a man Zake was.

Many said that the rumor wasn't true and that no God would go out of its way to meet a mere human.

After a few days the chief ordered the whole village to gather in the center area of the village to greet the God Arnos.

When the chief was asked why the God was coming,

He just replied "I don't know"

No one thought that God would actually come to meet Zake, a mere mortal.

Then with a blinding light the God Arnos appeared in front of them.

All the people bowed in front of him and the chief shouted,

"All behold the supreme God of healers Arnos."

Arnos had a handsome face and a fit body. He had dark black hairs and green eyes. He looked around and asked, "Where is Zake?"

The villagers were shocked, the God has really come to meet Zake.

Zake walked towards the God.

Arnos looked at Zake "Tell me mortal why do you serve people without anything for you to gain?"

"Oh that?" Zake smiled, and that wasn't his normal smile. It was the smile of a psycho looking at the person who would be his next victim.

The villagers raised their heads a little to see Zake, and they couldn't believe what they saw.

The person standing there didn't seemed like the Zake they had known for the past 3 weeks at all.

"It was all an act" Zake continued smiling.

"Act?" Arnos "And why would you do that?"

Suddenly a sword appeared in Zake's right hand out of thin air.

"To eliminate my next target!" Zake began to smile more.

"And who's that?" Arnos asked smiling.

"Who could it be but you fool?" Zake pointed at Arnos.

Arnos grew angry "You foolish mortal! The swords you mortals use couldn't even scratch me!"

Then instantly, Zake was standing in front of Arnos and his sword was piecing Arnos's stomach and was reaching out from his back.

Arnos splatted blood "H-How?"

Zake was looking at Arnos's eyes and smiling.

"Just die fool" Zake was still smiling.
