Chapter 99 - Chapter 99: Persuading the Great Elder

"Madara—Lord Madara—I didn't draw it wrong! Uchiha Isamu's Sharingan really looks like this!" White Zetsu said, trembling as he was grabbed by Uchiha Madara.

"Damn it! You useless fool—why didn't you tell me sooner?!" Madara flung him aside and stared intently at the pattern on the ground.

"You never asked…" White Zetsu muttered quietly.

Even so, Madara still heard him.

"You still dare talk back? Look carefully! Does this look like an ordinary Mangekyo Sharingan? The five-pointed pinwheels are connected—this is clearly an Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan! You've completely ruined my plan!"

White Zetsu looked aggrieved.

"How was I supposed to know what your Uchiha Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan looks like? I thought his was just a normal Mangekyo…"

"You…" Madara started to scold him again, but stopped himself with a sigh. "Forget it. There's no point arguing with you."

He turned back to the pattern, his expression growing serious.

Isamu… where did you obtain the Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan?

Are you walking the same path as me… first the Eternal Mangekyo, then the Rinnegan?

Just how many secrets are you hiding?

Madara fell into deep thought.

"…Am I really getting old?"

For a brief moment, doubt flickered in his eyes.

But when he looked at the towering Gedo Statue behind him, his resolve hardened instantly.

"No! I still have plans to complete. I haven't proven to Senju Hashirama that his choice back then was wrong. I cannot stop now."

At that moment, Black Zetsu seized the opportunity and slowly merged into Madara's shadow.

"L-Lord Madara… your shadow is moving!" White Zetsu exclaimed.

"Hm? What is that?" Madara frowned, noticing the abnormality.

"Madara… I am your will."

Black Zetsu rose from the shadow beneath him.

What followed was a smooth and carefully crafted deception. Step by step, Black Zetsu gained Madara's trust and remained by his side.

From that moment on, the small trace of hope Madara once held for his "son" began to fade. Under Black Zetsu's influence, he would slowly transform into a colder, more detached version of himself.

But that was a matter for the future.

---

The next morning.

Isamu returned to Konoha with the group using Kamui, arriving directly at the Great Elder's residence.

In the courtyard, the others dispersed to pack their belongings, while Isamu and Zhan found the Great Elder in the backyard, leisurely drinking tea under the sun.

"Isamu, Zhan—you went to the border. Why are you back already?" the Great Elder asked.

Zhan glanced at Isamu, signaling him to explain.

Without hesitation, Isamu sat down and spoke calmly:

"Great Elder, we need to gather all members of the Martial Faction immediately. We must leave Konoha at once."

"Leave Konoha?" The Great Elder straightened, his expression turning serious. "What happened?"

Isamu explained everything in detail. The Great Elder listened attentively, not missing a single word.

After more than ten minutes, Isamu finished.

"So that's the situation."

The Great Elder remained silent for a moment before speaking:

"In other words, once Konoha learns you attacked the Four Great Nations, you fear they will hand over our faction to appease them… correct?"

"Exactly," Isamu said firmly. "We can protect ourselves—but the elderly and children cannot. I won't let anything happen to them. We must move before Konoha reacts."

The Great Elder studied him carefully.

"Have you decided where to relocate the clan?"

Zhan immediately brightened.

"Father, does that mean you agree? You're not angry?"

"Hmph. What's the point of being angry now? It's already done. Let him answer."

Despite his stern tone, the Great Elder inwardly approved.

The Uchiha had never been cowards.

If one had strength, one should act.

Had he still been in his prime, he would have fought alongside them.

Seeing this, Isamu smiled slightly.

"I plan to relocate everyone to a small town in the south. It's secluded and ideal for hiding."

"A southern town?" Zhan frowned. "What about the warehouse we discussed before?"

"That place is too obvious. Once Konoha investigates, they'll find it easily. But the town I'm talking about has an underground casino—well hidden. Even I struggled to locate it before. Konoha won't find us there easily."

The Great Elder nodded thoughtfully.

"Then how do you plan to move everyone out? If you leave openly, Konoha will track you."

Before Isamu could answer, Zhan spoke up eagerly:

"Father, no need to worry! Isamu has a technique that lets us move instantly—hundreds of miles in minutes!"

The Great Elder looked at Isamu in surprise.

"…Is that true?"

"It's not a technique," Isamu corrected calmly. "It's a dōjutsu."

He activated his Mangekyo Sharingan and demonstrated Kamui, disappearing and reappearing within the courtyard.

"I see… a space-time ability." The Great Elder nodded slowly. "No wonder."

"Great Elder, please issue the order immediately. Everyone should bring only essentials—we don't have much time," Isamu urged.

Zhan added quickly,

"Father, we have to move fast. What we did this time… it's huge. If we delay, we'll be in serious trouble."

The pressure in the air grew heavy.

Time was running out.
