Chapter 1 - A Thrilling Romantic Love Story ❤️

"Midnight Between Heartbeats....!!"

On a stormy night in Kolkata, the city lights flickered like restless fireflies. Rain washed the streets as if the sky was trying to erase secrets buried beneath the old buildings.

Aarav Sen never believed in destiny. As a crime journalist, he trusted facts, not fate. But fate had other plans the night he met Meera Roy.

They first crossed paths at Howrah Bridge at midnight.

Meera stood alone at the edge of the bridge, wind whipping her hair, eyes filled with fear and determination. Aarav noticed something strange—she kept looking behind her as if someone was following her.

"Are you waiting for someone?" Aarav asked.

Meera turned, startled. Her voice trembled.

"Not waiting… hiding."

Before Aarav could ask more, two black cars screeched to a halt nearby. Men stepped out, scanning the bridge.

Meera grabbed Aarav's hand.

"Please," she whispered, "pretend you know me."

Without thinking, Aarav pulled her close. To anyone watching, they looked like lovers meeting under the rain.

But the moment their eyes met, something deeper sparked—something dangerous and undeniable.

The men searched the bridge but eventually drove away.

Aarav exhaled. "You want to explain what just happened?"

Meera hesitated before revealing the truth.

She had evidence that could expose a powerful criminal network controlling half the city. If the truth came out, many powerful people would fall.

And now… they wanted her dead.

Aarav knew the story could be the biggest of his career.

But the more time he spent protecting Meera, the less it felt like journalism—and the more it felt like love.

Soon the chase began:

through rain-soaked streets, hidden alleys, abandoned warehouses, and silent rooftops.

But danger wasn't the only thing growing between them.

So was something neither of them expected.

Love.

One night, hiding inside an old tram depot, Meera looked at Aarav and said softly:

"If we survive this… promise me something."

"What?"

"Don't disappear from my life."

Aarav smiled.

"I think fate already decided that."

Outside, sirens echoed through the city.

And somewhere in the darkness, the people hunting them were getting closer.

But so were two hearts… beating faster with every passing midnight.
