Chapter 21 - Chapter 21:The Consequence

Mahati's POV

Mahati couldn't sleep.

The image kept replaying in her mind.

The basement.

The chair.

The fear in the biker's eyes.

And Kiara standing there like someone she barely recognized.

Mahati sat on the couch in Kiara's living room, staring at the cold cup of coffee in her hands.

Footsteps approached.

Kiara walked in calmly.

Too calmly.

"Did you sleep?" Mahati asked.

"No."

Kiara opened the fridge and took out a bottle of water.

Mahati studied her.

"How are you so normal right now?"

Kiara paused.

"What do you mean?"

Mahati stared at her.

"You beat a man to death yesterday."

Silence.

Kiara closed the fridge slowly.

"He tried to kill Aarushi."

Mahati rubbed her temples.

"That doesn't make this normal, Kiara."

Kiara leaned against the counter.

"You think I regret it?"

Mahati didn't answer.

Because the truth was obvious.

Kiara didn't.

And that scared Mahati more than anything.

"Do you know what bothers me the most?" Mahati said.

"What?"

Mahati looked directly at her.

"You didn't lose control."

Kiara's expression didn't change.

"You planned everything."

The room felt heavier.

Mahati continued.

"That means this side of you was always there."

Kiara finally spoke quietly.

"You're wrong."

Mahati frowned.

"This side of me was born the moment someone touched my family."

A sudden knock on the door interrupted them.

Mahati's heart skipped.

Kiara walked to the door and opened it.

A police officer stood outside.

"Miss Kiara?"

Mahati froze.

Kiara remained calm.

"Yes?"

The officer looked at a small notebook.

"We found a body early this morning."

Mahati's stomach dropped.

The officer continued.

"Near the river outside the city."

Kiara's expression stayed perfectly still.

"We believe he died during a violent altercation."

Mahati glanced at Kiara.

The officer looked back up.

"And we were hoping you could answer a few questions."

The room went silent.

Because Mahati suddenly realized something terrifying.

The game between Kiara and Vishwa had just changed.

It wasn't only about secrets anymore.

Now…

It involved murder.

Later that night, Vishwa receives the news about the biker's death.

And instead of being angry…

He smiles.

Because Kiara just proved something important.

She was finally becoming exactly the person he needed her to be.
