Chapter 63 - Chapter 63: Uchiha Kamito Hidden Among the Mist Ninja

"Damn it, what do we do? That Uchiha is even more skilled with the Hidden Mist Technique than we are."

Within a dense fog, several Mist jonin quickly found an opportunity to regroup and discuss countermeasures.

"Damn Uchiha… the Silent Killing Technique we spent years mastering is nothing more than a glance to him. Are the Uchiha's Sharingan really this unreasonable?"

A jonin from the Mist's assassination unit had reddened eyes. The technique he had painstakingly trained for years was reduced to something trivial in another's eyes. Why was the ninja world so unfair?

"Calm down. Not every Uchiha can do this. Otherwise, they wouldn't have sent only one in. Even among the Uchiha, this one can be called a genius."

An older Mist ninja spoke steadily.

"Then what should we do now?"

"First, gather all our forces inside the mist. We can't give him the chance to pick us off one by one."

"Got it. I'll notify everyone with the mist crows."

One ninja formed hand seals and summoned a crow—its entire body gray-white, its eyes glowing with a murky pale light.

After whispering a few instructions, the mist crow flew off, searching for the scattered Mist ninja within the Hidden Mist Technique.

"I didn't expect you to actually cultivate this kind of mutated crow."

"Of course. It's precisely because of my skill in raising ninja beasts that I was able to join the assassination unit."

The ninja who raised the mist crow looked quite proud.

Completely unaware that among the gathered jonin, one of them was staring at him with a strange gaze.

The Transformation Technique… really is fun.

The group quickly discussed their next steps—after assembling, they would conduct a coordinated sweep through the mist, determined to eliminate that damned Uchiha within this large-scale Hidden Mist Technique.

Otherwise, it would be a disgrace to the Mist. How could their signature technique be used so freely by an outsider?

Eleven minutes later, Mist ninja from all over the fog began arriving one after another.

Jonin divided the area below on an open field, while chunin stood on tree trunks, vigilantly watching for ambushes.

Genin? Sorry—there's no such thing as useless genin in the Bloody Mist.

Might Duy: ???

Naruto Uzumaki: ???

Sasuke Uchiha: ???

Just as the jonin were assigning zones—

Biu! A red flare shot straight into the sky.

"There's a traitor!"

"Damn it—you bastard!"

"Die!"

A ruthless Mist jonin charged forward without hesitation, instantly killing the ninja who had fired the signal flare.

A ninja blade over a meter long pierced straight through the Mist ninja's chest.

At the moment of death, the dying ninja's eyes finally cleared.

"I-it's you…"

His voice was faint—no one else could hear it.

But not all Mist ninja were fools.

A jonin from the rear suddenly slashed at the attacker.

Blades clashed in a flash of light, and the two separated.

During the intense exchange, the Transformation Technique began to falter.

The Mist jonin who had just "eliminated the traitor" started to change form.

A red glow flashed—on the back of his jonin vest, the Uchiha fan crest appeared.

Uchiha Kamito revealed himself.

"Don't look into his eyes! An Uchiha dares to show himself before our main force—are you arrogant, or do you have a death wish? Since you've appeared, leave your Sharingan behind."

The older Mist ninja spoke, his gaze fixed on Kamito's legs.

Hundreds of Mist ninja around them tightened their grip on their weapons, ready to kill him on the spot.

"When people look at the ground, they often forget to notice the sky. I've heard the Mist's Water Release is quite formidable—let's see if that's true."

"Ah—what is that?!"

A Mist ninja shouted.

Hearing this, the others couldn't help but look up.

Countless fireballs were descending toward them.

The overwhelming barrage painted every Mist ninja's face in a burning orange glow.

"Evade!"

Explosions roared—

Flames crackled—

Screams rang out endlessly—

All of it echoed through the dense fog.

...

Let's rewind a few minutes.

The Uchiha clan members, bored out of their minds, stared at the thick mist ahead, itching to do something.

If the situation allowed it, they would've already taken out a deck of cards and started playing.

It was said that before the Warring States era, there existed an even darker age of landlords—cruel, greedy, and deceitful—who oppressed hardworking farmers. One day, a brutal battle broke out between the farmers and the landlords, leaving both sides devastated… and thus, the game was born.

It sounded unpleasant.

But since it was said by that "little giant" from the Senju clan—and Kamito didn't object—it was probably true.

Senju Hideki: I just wanted to play cards. You asked me why the rules are like this—how would I know? I played this for decades in my past life, and no one ever explained it either.

Uchiha Kamito: I didn't say anything—that doesn't mean I agreed. Don't drag me into this. Also, don't play cards with Hiyasu—screen peekers deserve to have their whole family wiped out.

Hyūga Hiyasu: You were using your Sharingan! What right do you have to talk?

Uchiha Kamito: I was just memorizing cards. That's not illegal—it's even allowed in competitions. People would even respectfully call me a master. Can a screen peeker say the same?

Hyūga Hiyasu: Damn it.

Of course, none of that really mattered.

Dou Dizhu was genuinely fun, which is why it spread throughout the entire Konoha camp in the Land of Rain. The three-person team structure made it perfect for the game.

But that wasn't important either.

What mattered was—

Right.

Just as the Uchiha were bored out of their minds, a red light suddenly appeared about five hundred meters ahead.

It was the captain's signal flare.

Former captain Uchiha Raiden immediately gave the order:

"All formations advance three hundred meters! Use Phoenix Sage Fire No. 7! Everyone follow your squad leaders' commands!"

Two minutes later—

Eight hundred Uchiha advanced to within two hundred meters of the Mist's gathering point.

"As the captain says, at this distance—even a woman could hit the target. Uchiha elites, are you women?"

"NO!"

A small number of Uchiha ninja stopped smiling—because they actually were women.

Uchiha Yumi gritted her teeth.

"That's gender discrimination. I'm reporting you to the clan head!"

Then, under the command of squad leaders, unit leaders, and battalion leaders—

The overwhelming rain of fireballs seen by the Mist ninja was unleashed.

Uchiha Kamito: We didn't just play cards in the Land of Rain. We also improved our ninjutsu. What matters most for artillery? Range. If it can only hit a dozen meters, how is that long-range? Fix it. It must be improved.
