Chapter 74 - Chapter 74 – The Collapse of Loki’s Invasion

The Sorcerer Supreme had been defeated.

Silently.

Just as quietly as she had appeared, the Ancient One vanished without leaving any trace behind.

Yet the shattered satellite lying inside the enormous crater told the true story of what had happened here.

Carol Danvers still looked furious.

She had never heard of Earth's so-called guardian or the title of Sorcerer Supreme. As far as she was concerned, anyone who willingly absorbed dark energy was nothing more than a dangerous fanatic.

Yun Chen laughed softly.

"You misunderstand her," he said calmly. "She's still human. If she wants to extend her life for hundreds of years, she has no choice but to rely on that power."

Carol frowned slightly.

"And who exactly is she fighting that forces her to do that?"

"An ancient entity," Yun Chen replied. "The ruler of the Dark Dimension. A being called Dormammu."

Carol blinked.

Dormammu

"Dormammu?"

She had never heard the name before.

But suddenly she remembered something.

"The wormhole."

Carol's expression changed immediately.

The sadness from visiting her parents' grave vanished as she focused on the sky.

Even earlier, she had sensed something unusual in Earth's atmosphere.

An immense energy fluctuation.

Powerful.

Ancient.

And strangely familiar.

"An Infinity Stone?" she asked.

"Yes," Yun Chen replied. "Someone used the Space Stone to open a portal."

Space Stone

The situation now was essentially the same as the battle in the original timeline.

Only the location had changed.

Instead of New York, the invasion was happening over Berlin.

The Chitauri army under Thanos was pouring through the wormhole endlessly.

Still, Yun Chen couldn't help laughing when he remembered what the Ancient One had said earlier.

Across countless possible futures, Loki never succeeded.

Not even once.

If Loki somehow learned that every possible outcome led to his defeat, he might cough up blood from sheer frustration.

"That poor guy," Yun Chen said with amusement.

Carol clenched her fists.

"I'm going there."

She clearly wanted to rush to the battlefield immediately.

But Yun Chen shook his head calmly.

"Relax. Loki's destined to lose anyway."

Then he smiled slightly.

"Besides, the Space Stone is a pretty valuable treasure."

"Worth reclaiming."

Carol immediately understood his meaning.

"Fine," she said.

"Let's go."

Berlin.

The enormous wormhole above the city still blazed brightly.

Chitauri

Chitauri warships continued pouring through the portal.

However, the battlefield situation had changed dramatically.

Human fighter jets streaked across the sky, launching missiles toward the alien ships.

Although the Chitauri possessed advanced technology, they were not completely immune to human weapons.

Missile strikes still destroyed large numbers of their aircraft.

Meanwhile, two individuals were causing even greater destruction.

Thor unleashed thunder across the battlefield, his hammer smashing alien ships out of the sky.

And Tony Stark darted through the air in his armored suit, firing missiles and repulsor blasts at relentless speed.

Between the two of them, entire waves of Chitauri were being annihilated.

But what truly shattered Loki's confidence was something else.

"Magicians…?"

He stared at the battlefield in disbelief.

"An entire army of them?"

Even in Asgard, Loki had never seen anything like this.

The sorcerers had arrived.

They came from a hidden order.

Kamar-Taj.

Kamar-Taj

To outsiders, the place seemed remote and unremarkable.

Yet it was one of the most powerful magical sanctuaries on Earth.

Under the guidance of the Sorcerer Supreme, three sanctums protected the planet.

New York SanctumLondon SanctumHong Kong Sanctum

Together they formed a massive magical barrier preventing otherworldly demons from invading Earth.

Within those sanctums were countless trained sorcerers.

But what shocked Loki most was their abilities.

In many worlds, apprentice magicians learned basic elemental spells.

Fire.

Ice.

Lightning.

Kamar-Taj was completely different.

Their students learned space manipulation first.

Through meditation and discipline, they connected with the fabric of reality itself.

Using their Sling Rings, they could open portals anywhere on Earth.

Sling Ring

And now those portals were appearing everywhere across Berlin.

Hundreds of sorcerers stepped through glowing rings of orange light.

They arrived instantly from across the globe.

Loki's heart nearly collapsed.

"Since when did space magic become this cheap?" he muttered bitterly.

But the real nightmare was just beginning.

The sorcerers raised their hands together.

Reality warped.

Entire sections of the city twisted and folded like sheets of paper.

The Chitauri forces trapped within the streets suddenly vanished.

They had been pulled into another dimension.

The Mirror Dimension.

Mirror Dimension

Inside that world, destruction caused no damage to the real city.

But the sorcerers could reshape the environment however they wished.

Buildings folded into impossible angles.

Streets twisted like ribbons.

Gravity shifted unpredictably.

For the Chitauri soldiers trapped inside, escape was impossible.

They were crushed, sliced, or trapped inside collapsing structures.

When they finally reappeared in reality—

They were nothing more than broken wreckage.

"Damn it!"

Loki clenched his fists.

He finally understood.

The invasion was falling apart.

There were no longer Chitauri ships dominating the skies.

The alien soldiers inside the city were disappearing faster than they arrived.

The only reason the wormhole remained open was because the Space Stone's containment device was still operating.

Otherwise the portal would have already collapsed.

Loki raised the Mind Scepter desperately.

Mind Stone

If he could regain control of the battlefield, perhaps he could still turn the situation around.

But then he noticed something alarming.

Even Clint Barton had broken free from his control.

"Damn it…"

Then suddenly Loki's eyes brightened.

A massive green figure was approaching.

The Hulk.

Hulk

If he could control that monster, the situation might still recover.

Loki raised the Mind Scepter confidently.

"Stop!"

He opened his arms theatrically.

"The gods command you. Serve me at once."

Whoosh!

But Hulk moved faster than Loki could react.

In an instant, the giant green hand grabbed Loki by the legs.

Then—

Bang!

Bang!

Bang!

The Hulk smashed Loki repeatedly into the ground like a rag doll.

The pavement shattered with each impact.

Loki's body slammed left and right as if he were nothing more than a toy.

Finally Hulk dropped him.

"God?" Hulk muttered with contempt.

"I've never seen such a weak god."

Loki lay flat on the ground.

Completely broken.

If Yun Chen had witnessed the scene, he would probably have agreed.

The so-called gods of Asgard were little more than powerful humanoids.

Against Hulk's overwhelming strength, Loki had no chance.

The battle situation collapsed instantly.

The Chitauri commander had effectively been removed from the battlefield.

Meanwhile, S.H.I.E.L.D.'s scientists had arrived at the portal device.

They began preparing to shut down the machine powering the Space Stone.

And at that exact moment—

Three figures appeared quietly on a nearby rooftop.

Yun Chen had finally arrived.
