Chapter 54 - Chapter 54 – Jackpot Before the Rescue

After stepping out of Nick Fury's office, Levis didn't rush off to Afghanistan right away. The mission wasn't going anywhere, and he had something more immediate to handle first.

Closing his eyes slightly, he reached out with his Telepathy and linked directly to the Cuckoo Sisters.

"Is Esme there?" he asked.

"I'm here," Esme responded almost instantly, her voice clear in his mind.

She was one of the five sisters, though even among them, distinctions like "eldest" didn't seem to matter much. Their connection made hierarchy irrelevant.

Levis didn't waste time.

"I'm transferring a large amount of money to you," he said. "Use it to buy Stark Industries stock. As much as you can, as fast as you can. Understood?"

"Understood," Esme replied without hesitation.

There were no questions, no doubts. She simply accepted the instruction and moved to carry it out.

Levis opened his eyes again, a faint smile forming.

Then, with a subtle shift of focus, electromagnetic currents surged through his awareness. In the next moment, he became something far more dangerous than any ordinary hacker.

Invisible signals spread out like threads, slipping into networks, bypassing firewalls, and digging through dormant systems. Accounts that had been untouched for years—forgotten bank reserves, abandoned funds, shadow accounts buried in the digital underworld—were all exposed to him.

One by one, he seized control.

Balances were transferred, redirected, consolidated.

In a matter of minutes, enormous sums of money moved silently across the world before landing under the control of the Cuckoo Sisters.

There were no alarms, no traces left behind.

It was clean.

And the purpose behind it was obvious.

If Tony Stark's kidnapping was the opening act, then the financial aftermath was where the real profit lay.

Levis wasn't short on money, but that didn't mean he'd ignore an opportunity like this. Stark Industries stock was about to skyrocket once Tony returned and revealed Iron Man to the world.

Missing that chance would be a waste.

Once everything was set in motion, Levis finally turned his attention back to the mission.

But before leaving, he paused.

He hadn't signed in here yet.

A small grin tugged at his lips.

[Ding! Has the host checked in at the Helicarrier?]

"Sign me in," he said.

[Ding! Sign-in successful. Congratulations, host, you have obtained the super ability 'End-Origin Matter' and 100 experience points.]

Levis's expression shifted immediately.

"End-Origin Matter…?"

For a brief second, even he looked genuinely surprised.

This wasn't just another useful ability.

This was absurd.

If vector manipulation was control, then this… this was creation.

End-Origin Matter allowed him to generate substances that didn't exist anywhere in the world. Not undiscovered elements, but completely nonexistent materials—things that had never been part of reality in the first place.

And more importantly…

He could define their properties.

Anything he created could be assigned physical and chemical traits at will.

If he created a piece of material and designated it with the properties of vibranium, then it would behave exactly like vibranium—absorbing energy, resisting impact, functioning identically in every practical sense.

If he gave it the traits of adamantium, it would become just as indestructible and sharp.

The difference?

It wasn't actually those metals.

It only functioned like them.

And there were no limits.

That was the terrifying part.

He wasn't restricted to copying a single property. He could combine them, layer them, redefine them entirely.

A single piece of End-Origin Matter could possess the durability of adamantium, the energy absorption of vibranium, and additional custom traits on top of that.

Flight, defense, cutting force, energy projection—everything could be built into the material itself.

Even more dangerous was its potential interaction with energy.

By adjusting its properties, it could convert sunlight into destructive beams, redirect force into shockwaves, or amplify external input into something far more lethal.

This wasn't just power.

This was a toolset with infinite scalability.

In the hands of someone like Tony Stark, it could revolutionize science.

In the hands of Levis…

It was something else entirely.

A slow smile spread across his face.

"Now this," he murmured, "is interesting."

His mind was already moving, considering applications, combinations, possibilities.

There was no rush.

He had time to explore it later.

For now, there was still a billionaire stuck in a cave waiting to be rescued.

Without another word, space folded around him.

In the next instant, Levis vanished.

Afghanistan.

The transition was seamless. One moment he stood aboard the Helicarrier, the next he was standing under a harsh, dry sky, the air thick with dust and heat.

He didn't move immediately.

Instead, his Telepathy spread outward, sweeping across the area like an invisible net.

It didn't take long.

Within seconds, he found what he was looking for.

A hidden cave.

Several armed men.

And at the center of it all…

Tony Stark.

Levis stepped forward, and space shifted again.

The next moment, he was inside the cave.

The air was dim, lit by scattered lamps and the faint glow of machinery. A steady metallic sound echoed through the space.

Clang. Clang. Clang.

Levis followed the noise and found him.

Tony Stark stood hunched over a crude workstation, assembling pieces of a bulky metal suit. Sparks flickered as he worked, completely absorbed in what he was doing.

Focused.

Determined.

So focused, in fact, that he didn't notice the extra presence behind him.

Levis leaned casually against a nearby crate, watching for a moment before speaking.

"Hey," he said, his tone light. "Need a hand?"

The sudden voice shattered the rhythm of the cave.

Tony froze.

The tool in his hand stopped mid-motion.

Slowly, he turned around.

His eyes locked onto the young man sitting casually nearby, and his entire expression shifted into sharp alertness.

"Who are you?" he asked, his voice low and guarded.

There was no panic, but there was tension.

The cave was sealed.

He knew that.

So how did this guy get in?

Levis grinned.

"I'm a mutant," he said casually. "Heard Tony Stark—the famous billionaire playboy—got himself kidnapped, so I came to check if you needed help."

He tilted his head slightly.

"Well? Want out?"

For a brief moment, something flashed in Tony's eyes.

Hope.

When he had first woken up in this cave, he had prayed for exactly this—for someone, anyone, to come and pull him out.

He would have agreed to anything back then.

But three months had changed him.

Stripped away the impulsiveness.

Tempered the panic.

What remained was something sharper.

More cautious.

Tony narrowed his eyes slightly.

"What do you want?" he asked directly.

Levis didn't hesitate.

"Simple," he said. "A few hundred million dollars."

He said it like he was asking for pocket change.

Tony stared at him for half a second.

Then, without blinking, he answered.

"Five hundred million."

Levis paused.

"As long as you get me out of here safely," Tony continued, his voice steady, "it's yours."

For a brief moment, Levis actually looked surprised.

He had expected negotiation. Maybe resistance. Maybe a counteroffer.

Not this.

Five hundred million, just like that.

It was almost excessive.

He blinked once.

"…Huh."

Tony raised an eyebrow.

"What?" he said. "Not enough?"

Levis shook his head, a grin spreading across his face.

"No," he said. "That's more than enough."

He pushed himself off the crate and walked toward Tony.

"In that case," he added casually, "let's go."

For him, this was the easiest money he'd ever made.

All it would take was a single teleport.
