Chapter One..
Third Pov.
Today Gemini had broken free from the hold of her controlling step mother. She was going to leave this house.
Her mother Maya did not take this news positively, Mayas honey eyes blazed.
"By the time you read this note I might have already disappeared.
Don't try searching for me.
Much love Gemini."
Mayas nails dug into her bleeding white skin, she was going to find that reckless step daughter of hers, even if it kills her.
"Mom where is Gemini, the groom.." Maya flung the paper over her daughter Emily's face.
Emily took a look and read the words written thrice– still it felt unreal.
"This is going to be the end of us, Mathew, what do we tell Mathew and the people that have being sitting for hours?."
Maya's eyes oscillated, she robbed her sweaty palms together.
For the first time she felt – nervous.
"There's still something we can do." Maya suggested breaking the heavy silence.
Emily turned to gaze at her mother who paced around the living room like a man whose wife was in labour.
"Can you stop it, I'm gonna feel dizzy." Emily held her already aching head.
Maya tossed the wedding dress to Emily, who stared at it with disgust sketched all over her face.
The dress was beautiful but on this day it was not meant for her.
"Why…, why are you giving me this?." Emily asked.
"You can do it, you can save our family's reputation. You both have the same height and dark eyes."
Maya pressed on.
Emily took few steps back shaking her head, Maya lounged forward and stopped her.
"You know this is actually perfect you have always had a crush on him since the day he moved into this neighborhood." Maya said trying to convince her daughter.
Emily refused, he chose her step sister Gemini there's no way he would be happy seeing her face on there wedding night.
"Fine then, I will just go and drink poison. At least I won't see the disappointed look on Mathews face, or hear him ask for all his money back.".
Emily slumped on the chair beside her and wore the dress silently. What on earth was she going to tell her new boyfriend Jayden now.
"Once we find Gemini, I will make her come back and the both of you will get divorced. It's only a matter of a few weeks"
Emily nodded and walked with her mother to the aisle. The keyboardist played and the people stood in ovation, Mathews eyes sparkled.
Emily's heart trembled what would he think of her the minute she takes off this veil. He would despise her.
Maya let go of her daughters hand and slowly went to sit in the front row.
"You may now kiss the bride.". The officiating pastor declared.
Mathew lifted the veil over Emily's face and frowned who was this?.
His loving eyes faded and replaced with a cold gaze.
Emily shivered and her eyes shut tightly. "You're hurting me.". She managed to let out in whispers.
"Shut the doors, make sure no one leaves." Mathew ordered and his men stood swiftly blocking the exit doors.
"Where is my bride?." Mathew asked balling his fists, his eyes staring daggers into Mayas shivering eyes.
The people bent down and covered there eyes as Mathews men threatened them with guns shots in the air.
"Bring her brother here." Mathew ordered.
Maya turned around and saw her younger brother Xane being held forcefully down by Mathews men her heart trembled.
She felt a massive wave of guilt in her heart, for any time she had ever hit or acted rudely towards Gemini, perhaps they were paying for there sins.
Mathew's men held Xane at gun point he grunted as they kicked his knee from behind forcing him to kneel.
Mathew's younger sister stepped foward shivering as well.
"I promise we did not want any of this to happen, once we find Gemini we would bring her to you.." Maya pleaded in tears, but those tears were not enough to break Mathew's heart of steel.
"You will look for her and bring her to me." Emily shrieked as Mathew tossed Emily to the ground.
"Your son will be right under my nose till then, that decision however can change if you have my money right here with you." Maya lowered her gaze.
Emily stared at her dusty hands, the knot in her stomach tightened.
Mathew lifted her with his right hand.
"We are already married aren't we?, I will be your worst nightmare." Mathew spat unapologetically.
Emily stared at her brother who was getting married to Mathew's sister.
"I'm the one who has offended you, let him go." Emily pleaded kneeling.
Mathew let the grin on his face last longer, he enjoys this seeing weak people in pain as he steps over there ego.
"Your mother tricked me and got me married to you, I think this makes everything better..
All is fair in love and war."
Emily glanced over.
"You may now kiss the bride." The pastor announced. It was done now, her only hope was to find Gemini and make her wed this man– else her life would be ruined.
The guests and the pastor fled the moment the doors were opened, Maya buried her face in her palms, today's incident would ruin her reputation.
Maya felt a soft touch on her left shoulder forcing her to lift her wet eyes. It was Emily.
"It's time for me to go with him mum." Emily sobbed.
Maya nodded absentmindedly, meanwhile Mathew stood glaring at Mathew.
"If you hurt my sister even once, I will find out and when I do your sister will be the one that feels the pain.
If you want to be free, then you have to refund my money."
Mathew clenched his fists, he was done with the Greens it was time for him to leave now.
Emily felt a grip on her elbow, she swallowed as he forcefully took her away.
Will she be able to find Gemini and get a divorce?.
