Chapter 66 - Chapter 66 — Balance of Divinity

The battlefield did not burn in the way fire consumes wood or flesh.

It burned with something far heavier.

The remnants of war itself lingered in the air, thick and suffocating, as if every act of violence that had taken place refused to fade. The ground was broken beyond recognition, carved into deep fractures that still glowed faintly from the power that had torn them open. Weapons lay scattered across the ruins, some half-melted, others trembling as if they still remembered the hands that once wielded them.

At the center of it all—

Ares staggered.

His body no longer resembled the untouchable god that had once stood above the battlefield. Cracks spread across his form, jagged and uneven, glowing with a golden light that pulsed from within. It was not blood, not in any mortal sense, but something deeper—something that carried the essence of what he was.

because of continuous clash and burning divine energy his Divinity was breaking.

"No…" his voice trembled, not from weakness, but from disbelief that something like this could even happen. "…this is impossible…"

His gaze lifted slowly.

Locked On Von-Ra.

The one standing before him. Unmoving. Silent.

Breathing slowly, yet heavily, as if each breath carried the weight of something far greater than his own body could hold. The air around him twisted and bent, reacting to his presence in ways that felt unnatural, as if reality itself struggled to contain whatever he had become.

'It's still there…' Von-Ra felt it clearly, a power that not familiar is pulsing inside him. 'Not just power… something deeper… something that doesn't belong to me…'

Ares roared and surged forward.

He refused to fall.

SHWOOOOSSH!!!

His body tore through the air with violent force, his fist descending with everything he had left. It carried centuries of war, endless battles, the weight of every conflict that had ever shaped his existence.

It was not just an attack.

It was defiance.

"YOU WILL NOT TAKE IT FROM ME!"

Ares throw a punch but Von-Ra moved His hand rose And caught it.

BOOOOOOM!!!

The impact tore through the battlefield, splitting the earth once more as shockwaves spread outward in violent waves. Debris lifted and scattered

CRACK!

THUD!—

while the ground beneath their feet sank under the pressure. Von-Ra did not move Not even a step and their eyes met, Ares' gaze burned with fury.

Von-Ra's Was calm.

"as my wife said, You were never the representation of war," Von-Ra said quietly, his voice steady despite the storm around them.

Ares' expression twisted.

"I am war!" he roared, his voice echoing with countless battles, Von-Ra's grip tightened. "…No."

His other hand rose slowly, It glowed Not like before. Not like something borrowed or taken in desperation. But something that had already accepted its existence. Something that understood itself.

'This power… it want to possess me…'

Then He struck.

CRACK.

The sound did not echo like a normal impact It resonated. Deep and Ancient.

As if something fundamental had just been broken.

Ares froze.

The cracks across his body spread instantly, faster than before, wider, deeper, tearing through his form without resistance.

"No…!" Ares roared, his voice splitting into layered echoes, each one carrying the weight of countless wars. "This is not the end—!"

His form began to unravel.

Golden light burst outward from within him, spilling into the air in streams that twisted and spiraled uncontrollably.

Von-Ra's eyes flared crimson. A surge of heat gathered—

Then—

SHWOOOOOOOSH!!!

A beam of fiery red energy erupted from his eyes, cutting through the air with devastating precision as it struck Ares directly.

BOOOOOOM!!!

The impact consumed what remained of the god's form, His body shattered completely—Not into flesh But into pure divine energy, It did not scatter randomly It moved it was Drawn. Pulled toward a single point, Toward Von-Ra.

The sky darkened instantly.

Lightning split the heavens again and again, illuminating the battlefield in violent flashes as the energy surged forward.

War itself is Searching Seeking A vessel.

"War…" Ares' voice echoed faintly, already fading, already losing form. "…does not die…" Then Absolute. Silence.

For a single moment, everything stopped.

(AN: Von-Ra plundered Are's Divinity. it is common that a god is eternal as long as their concept exist. like Ares the god of war. even though you kill Ares multiple times. he will still be revive in the future as long as war exist in the universe

but plundering concept or divinity is different case. the time you take the concept of a god, he will no longer be a god of that concept. so he will die in the end for good.)

Then—

The world broke.

Without warning, explosions erupted across the battlefield

BANG!

BOOOOM!

DRROOOOM!—

As if the land itself rejected what had just happened. Weapons ignited in the hands of soldiers who had not yet fled, their blades glowing violently before detonating.

"AHHHH!"

Men turned on each other in blind panic, their movements erratic, uncontrolled, driven by something they did not understand.

The ground split further, jagged chasms tearing open beneath their feet.

War— Unbound At the center of it is Von-Ra.

His body trembled violently as the energy within him surged beyond control. His aura expanded outward in chaotic bursts, distorting everything around him, pushing debris away, forcing the ground to crack deeper under the pressure.

Even her.

Diana stepped forward.

Each step she took felt like pushing against a collapsing world. The force pressing against her was immense, unstable, tearing at her armor and forcing her muscles to strain.

But she did not stop. "Von-Ra…" He did not answer.

His head remained lowered.

His body shaking.

'Too loud…' his thoughts fractured under the pressure. 'Too many voices…Chaos'

"You're not the slave of war…" Diana said firmly, her voice cutting through the chaos.

Another step.

The ground beneath her feet cracked

CRACK!—

but she held her ground. "You're not him." She moved closer and Closer. "You choose what you become."

She reached him Her hand touched his And everything changed. Inside There was no battlefield. No sky, No ground, Only chaos.

Endless voices echoed, overlapping, clashing against one another in a storm of sound that threatened to tear his mind apart.

Destroy. Conquer. Rule. War.

Ares' presence lingered within it, faint but persistent, pushing against him, trying to shape him.

'This is what he was…' Von-Ra realized. 'Not just power… but endless conflict…'

"You are war," the voices whispered.

His fists clenched.

"No…"

The pressure increased, pushing harder, trying to break him. "You are meant to dominate." His eyes snapped open.

"I'm not…"

The energy surged violently—

"…a slave!"

BOOOOOOM!!!

Outside His aura exploded outward one final time Then it Stopped. The energy did not disappear, It changed. It compressed, folding inward, spiraling tighter as if drawn by something far stronger than chaos.

Control.

The ground stopped shaking, The air settled, The destruction slowed. And at the center of it—Von-Ra stood Different. His presence no longer lashed out in wild bursts. It did not distort everything around him uncontrollably.

It weighed on the world.

Heavy. Steady. Contained. War is Under control. Diana stepped back slightly, watching him carefully. Not with fear. But with understanding.

"Von-Ra…" she whispered.

He looked at his hand.

Slowly.

Flexed it.

'It listens…' he realized. 'Not the other way around.'

"…I see it now," he said quietly.

Not as destruction. But as something to command Far above, Beyond the mortal world— The heavens trembled. In the realm of gods, a throne stood empty. The seat of war. Lightning tore across the skies of Olympus as the balance shifted.

Zeus rose from his throne, his expression darkening as he felt the change ripple through existence itself.

"…Ares," he said. No answer came.

Hera stepped beside him, her gaze sharp, filled with disbelief. Athena remained still, her expression unreadable, but her eyes narrowed slightly.

"…he is gone," Zeus concluded.

Silence followed. Heavy and Unsettling.

"And worse…" Hera whispered. Their gazes turned downward Toward Earth. "A mortal…" Athena murmured slowly. "…holds the concept of war."

Lightning exploded across Olympus—KRAAAASH!

Back on the battlefield The chaos faded Slowly, Reluctantly. The wind returned, carrying ash and dust across the ruined land. Fires dimmed, no longer fed by uncontrolled destruction. But something had changed.

Something permanent. Diana stood beside Von-Ra, her eyes studying him carefully. Not as an ally. Not as a weapon.

But as something entirely new. "What are you now…?" she asked softly. Von-Ra remained silent for a moment. He looked at his hand. Then at the broken world around him.

'I could destroy it…'

'Or… I could protect it.'

"…Something new," he answered.

Above them The sky cracked once more. A voice echoed.

Ancient and Unavoidable. "Behold…" A pause followed, Heavy.

"…war is eternal."

The clouds twisted violently. Lightning descended. And far beyond even Olympus— Something else stirred. Watching. Waiting.

Because the moment war changed hands—

It did not go unnoticed.

And whatever had just awakened—

Was now looking directly at him.

'…I'm not the only one who felt that…'

Von-Ra's eyes slowly lifted toward the sky.

And for the first time since the battle ended—

His control wavered.
