In the morning, they went to have breakfast, and soon after they heard through the school speakers that all students must gather in the training area to learn a new magical technique.
After finishing their meal, the students headed to the training ground.
The one teaching them was Director Daniel himself.
He stood before them and said, "Today I will teach you a spell to push away anything. First, prepare your wands. You must feel it as if it is a part of your body. Second, close your eyes and imagine a light emerging from your wand. The moment real light appears, you will have successfully learned the skill."
All the students spent hours trying. Some succeeded, others failed, again and again.
Louis and Charlotte tried together—and both of them succeeded.
Soon after, Lily succeeded as well, followed by Lucy, Nick, and the rest of the students.
When they finally finished, the director said, "That will be enough for today."
They dispersed, and by then it was already late because the technique had taken a long time for everyone to master.
Louis said to Charlotte, "Let's go. It's late. We should sleep early and wake up tomorrow morning."
But Charlotte replied, "I already made plans with my friends to go out today. The director agreed too."
Then he added, "Come with us."
Louis shook his head. "No, thanks. I just want to sleep. I'm exhausted."
So Charlotte left.
As Louis was walking back, a girl suddenly handed him some sweets.
"I made these," she said quickly before running away.
Louis assumed she might just be a girl with a crush on him.
He returned to his room and ate the sweets.
His room was on the fourth floor.
Not long after, Louis began to feel dizzy. His vision blurred, and everything around him started to distort. He began to hallucinate.
At that moment, a man entered his room—a sorcerer.
The man looked at him and said, "What's wrong, Louis? Are you sick or something?"
Louis immediately stood up, grabbed his wand from beside him, and pointed it at the man.
The sorcerer smirked. "I'm going to kill you, Louis."
Louis quickly used the spell he had learned that day.
A burst of magical force shot out from his wand, striking the sorcerer and sending him crashing into the wall, cracking it slightly.
Louis ran into the hallway, trying to escape as fast as he could, stumbling again and again due to dizziness.
The sorcerer slowly stood back up, barely recovering from the heavy impact.
"I won't let you escape, Louis!" he shouted.
Louis had already reached the fifth floor and was searching the rooms, but there was no one there.
Then he remembered Charlotte saying the students were going out today.
"Damn it…" he muttered under his breath.
He immediately ran toward the sixth floor.
At the same time, the sorcerer was closing in on the sixth floor as well.
