Everetta nearly fell as she tried to climb down from the bed.
Where was her robe?
She glanced around the room, but there was no sign of it.
Then she looked down at herself. It was just too… scandalous to leave as she was. And to make matters worse, her nipples were puckering out after being exposed to the cold breeze coming from the window.
She had to find a robe.
Eve dashed to her cloth chest and threw it open. Just as she began digging for the robe, she heard something else crash…
"Heavens." She rose to her feet, grabbed the blanket on her bed and slung it over her shoulders.
Everything blurred…
It sounded similar to the night Merleen had been thrashing because of a fever…
He could hurt himself…
She was out of her room and running down the hallway towards his door in the blink of an eye.
"Theo." She called out when she got there, her hand on the knob.
There was no response.
