Chapter 15 - Chapter 15- The First offensive

The ruined chapel had transformed into a fortress of living darkness. Shadows writhed across the walls, floor, and ceiling, twisting into shapes that defied reason. Nyx, now massive and fully fused with Gabriel's power, prowled at the front lines, muscles coiling like a spring ready to strike.

Gabriel's silver eyes scanned the room. The hunters who had previously survived his first assault were now bound, trembling, and watching in terror. But he was no longer testing. No longer learning. Today, he would strike first.

He raised both hands. The shadows obeyed instantly, splitting, multiplying, forming dozens of new creatures: shadow wolves, serpentine beasts, humanoid figures with jagged limbs and claws, and spikes that shot out from the floor like spears.

"Pain is power," Gabriel whispered, voice cold and steady. "And I am ready to use it."

The hunters sensed the change immediately. Their weapons glowed faintly with energy, and they tried to coordinate a defensive stance. But Gabriel's army was already moving as one. Each shadow acted independently yet perfectly synchronized, predicting every swing, every step, every breath.

"Move, and you die," Gabriel said softly. "Stand still, and you die. Fight, and you die. This is your first lesson."

Nyx leapt forward, cutting off the leader's path. The wolves snapped at the hunters' legs, serpents wrapped around their arms, and spikes erupted from the ground to pin their weapons. Every move the hunters made was countered by the living darkness.

Gabriel extended his hand, channeling the pain from Alex's latest battle. A violent surge pulsed through the shadows, and the creatures grew larger, sharper, faster.

"Strike together!" he commanded.

The shadow army surged forward like a wave of black lightning. Hunters swung their weapons desperately, energy blasting against the shadows, but each attack was absorbed, divided, and redirected. The chapel shook violently. Cracks formed in the walls, dust and debris raining down as the shadows pressed forward.

One hunter managed to break free, running toward the door. But a shadow serpent shot from the floor, coiling around him instantly, constricting. Another hunter swung his glowing blade at a wolf, but the creature split into two, then four, each moving faster than the eye could follow.

Gabriel smiled faintly, feeling the pain of Alex's battle like a current running through his veins. His body trembled from the intensity, but he had learned to channel it, to weaponize it.

"Good… keep moving. Keep fighting," he whispered. "Every strike you make… every wound Alex suffers… fuels me."

The hunters screamed as the shadows pressed closer, relentless and unyielding. Nyx tore through the front line, fangs and claws cutting like living steel. The chapel floor was alive with black tendrils, spikes, and creatures, all acting in perfect harmony.

Gabriel's silver eyes scanned the battlefield. For the first time, he felt the taste of victory. Not complete yet—but within his grasp.

"This," he murmured, voice low and deadly, "is what happens when the cursed decides to fight. This… is only the beginning."

The shadows advanced again, faster and sharper. The hunters had no chance. Every movement, every strike, every scream fed Gabriel's power, and the army responded instantly, evolving mid-battle as if it had a mind of its own.

Nyx growled, a low rumble that shook the walls. Gabriel raised a hand, directing the creatures in a final, coordinated strike.

The hunters were thrown to the ground, bound, weapons shattered, and defeated. Gabriel's silver eyes glimmered in the darkness, reflecting the army of shadows that now completely filled the chapel.

"First offensive… complete," he whispered. "And the army learns. It grows. It waits. And Hell… Hell will feel this."

He looked toward the ceiling of the chapel, where cracks allowed a sliver of sunlight to pierce through. The light caught the shadows, bending and twisting them unnaturally.

Gabriel smiled faintly.

"The pain… the suffering… it will never stop. And neither will I."

Nyx howled, a sound that echoed like rolling thunder.

And in that howl, the beginning of Gabriel's conquest had been declared.
