Even though Alioth had dropped from an immense amount of height, he hadn't even felt heavy. But Alioth knew what this was, the skyline he assumed was what had kept him consciousness.
He knew pretty much sooner or later that he would pass out and end up in the floor again, however, luckily he was in the mountains this time. Meaning he wouldn't fall through the pink dreamy clouds.
Noticing the sun setting down, he retreated into the nearby cave, he hadn't wanted to do this because the tree was actually relatively close, about twenty miles left.
At the start of the descent, Alioth thought that it was around fifty miles, however he guessed it ended up being around double that. Which, he had severely underestimated the size of the tree.
When Alioth was dropping down, he caught a glimpse of the mighty tree, which stood at around a mile tall, and at least three miles wide.
It was obviously not the average tree, in fact, it was probably the biggest thing he had ever seen that wasn't a mountain or something else like that.
In the cave were multiple marks, what seemed like a counter for how long someone has been there, like a scratch for every day. What was strange, was that the whole cave was flooded with these scratches, there was nowhere you could not see the scratches.
What was even more strange was, how did one manage to survive that long without food? Alioth was pretty sure the average would survive only fifteen days without food. And even if they had food, what happened to it?
Alioth did not want to find out.
Feeling pretty tired, Alioth sat down and scratched his eyes. He hadn't realized it, but when he even touched them, his fingers were blood red, from the eyes.
'AH'
There wasn't anything Alioth could really do about, at least not in this condition he was in. So he laid down and slept for the night.
***
Usually upon waking up from your nice long slumber, what do you usually do? You would imagine doing normal stuff like eating breakfast, or something around those lines. Sadly, this was not the case for Alioth, as he has to descend the mountain or else he will starve to death.
'I should've toughened up and gotten panther meat'
Alioth thought.
But even now, there was no other way Alioth could have beat the panther, at least not in the current state he was in now or back then. So he decided to drop the idea.
Doing a couple more drops from the dreamy pink mountain, Alioth was nearing the tree, the big tree. What was not exciting about a tree that was bigger than everything else? Thats right! Nothing!
Or at least to Alioth currently, as it was his best chance to live as he may meet other people or somehow get food.
Soon enough, the final drop was there, he was just right below the massive tree, it stood a great height of five miles tall, and 8 miles wide.
'Crazy'
Crazy indeed, no normal tree was this large.
Feeling happy, Alioth hugged his trusty pointy stick, and took the final drop to the tree. Surprisingly enough, the tree actually contained a lot of other sticks just like the stick he had, which was the first thing he saw.
But also, there were humans, they were camping, and happily talking to each other and even had food.
Alioth dropped to the ground and stared at them for seconds, or even minutes. Anything to get food.
"Who is that?" Alioth heard.
But it had been months since he had actually had a conversation with someone, so Alioth didn't have a clue about what he should say. In fact, the last conversation he remembers was the one with his brother a while back.
"Food?" Alioth blurted.
Straight to the point, Alioth said the first thing in his mind, usually you would introduce yourself before asking for free food, but I guess this isn't really a normal circumstance.
"Wow, asking for charity on our first meeting?"
"No, I'm just hungry."
"What's your name?"
"One"
"One? That's your name? Seriously, what kind of name is that?"
"Can I have food? I'm hungry."
"Oh sure"
Those were the most beautiful words Alioth had heard in a while, he never thought that eating food would become such a hassle to find.
Aside from the girl that just talked to him, there were around five other people, three boys, and two girls excluding the one he just talked to.
Alioth waddled to the very big pot of food, and used his hands to pick the pot up and drink it in an impolite way. Which dragged the attention of others. But for some reason, they didn't bother him, like he was a monster or something.
Something Alioth noticed was that everyone had different marks, including himself. What could this mean? Perhaps nothing. But strangely enough, he felt that they were scared of him, bad etiquette probably.
After finishing up the meal, he took a big look out of the tree, and jumped up onto a branch.
On the branch, Alioth was searching for a stick that was perfectly compatible with his other stick. One that was in the same shape as a long sword, as the pointy stick didn't have much reach.
Alioth hopped onto branch after branch. Only to not find anything awaiting him.
'Seriously, it's just an extremely durable stick.'
An extremely durable stick it was, the stick he was holding never broke under any circumstances, eliminating the chance of him carving the stick into the shape of a sword. So all he could do was hope that he found a perfect stick.
Slowly Alioth jumped higher and higher, eventually landing on an incredible view of the entire cloudy dreamland, however, not as good as the one before.
As Alioth jumped, the wind caressed his hair and his black baggy clothes. Rather not really clothes, as they had become quite like rags now.
After a bit, Alioth reached the middle of the tree, he saw the perfect stick. One that had range, serious range. It didn't have a crossguard but it was really long. Upon sight, Alioth jumped and ran as fast as he could to the stick as if it was a race against others who were looking for a stick, for some reason.
When Alioth stood on top of it, the stick turned out better than he had imagined. After all, what kind of tree branch can stab a panther?
When Alioth bent over to pick it up, he slightly lost balance, and gave him a mini-heartattack
'AH, falling two and a half miles is NOT what I was trying to do."
Finally Alioth picked the stick up, and it seemed perfect for Alioth. Just great range in general.
[Would you like to combine "stick" with "Pointy Stick"?]
The skyline said, but the pink was slowly taking over, it was not really noticeable, but after a few glances, it was quite obvious. But Alioth didn't worry about that, he was just curious about what a combination was.
'Maybe the sticks will get extra powers or something!'
Alioth looked at the skyline, and looked at his precious sticks, and sighed.
'I really wanted to try it out'
Sadly, Alioth was too interested in what the combination was, so he never had the chance to test his newly acquired weapon.
'Yes'
