52: Chapter 52 Zoro! The Kind-Hearted MonsterAs Coby watched Luffy walking ahead, still looking around, his unease grew stronger.
He couldn't help but mutter to himself again, "This is so strange.Even putting Zoro aside for now.why is everyone so afraid of 'Colonel Morgan'?"
He recalled the same terrified reaction from pedestrians when he had inadvertently mentioned the name before, "Even.even I'm starting to feel uneasy."
"Hmm?Uneasy."
Luffy's ears twitched, and he turned around, asking casually, "Coby, did you do something bad?"
"How.how is this possible?"
Coby immediately blushed and retorted, "I'm going to become a Marine!How could I do anything bad!"
As they spoke, the two arrived at the magnificent and imposing gates of the naval base.
The towering walls, the tightly closed steel gates, and the renowned naval insignia on the gates all demonstrate the authority and power here.
Luffy put his hands on his hips, looked up at the imposing gate, and nodded in satisfaction: "Alright!This is it!" His tone was as relaxed as if he were visiting a tourist attraction.
As Coby looked at the gate that symbolized the power of the Navy, and thought about how he was about to step through it to realize his dream of becoming a Navy officer, he was filled with mixed emotions.
He covered his eyes, his voice choked with emotion: "Finally.finally we've arrived."
He turned to Luffy, tears streaming down his face."Mr.Luffy.we.we're about to part ways.even though it's only for a short time.but." He was preparing his farewell words.
"Why?"
Coby suddenly realized that Luffy, who had just been beside him, was gone!
He hurriedly turned around to look, only to see Luffy, who had somehow become as nimble as a monkey, climbing up the tall wall of the naval base on all fours!His upper body was already over the top of the wall!
"Hey!Mr.Luffy!What are you doing all of a sudden?"
Koby was terrified and shouted anxiously in a low voice, his heart pounding in his throat!This is a naval base!Trespassing will get you arrested!
Luffy ignored Coby's shouts.He covered his eyes with one hand, peering excitedly into the base like a pirate searching for treasure, yelling loudly:
"Hello--!
Where's Warcraft?That guy named Zoro!
Come out here and let me see you—!
Luffy's unrestrained shout instantly echoed throughout half of the base.
Koby stared at the catastrophic scene, his vision blurred, and he nearly fainted on the spot.His naval dream.it seemed it was about to end before it even began?
Coby, who was standing at the foot of the wall, was so anxious that he was jumping up and down.He lowered his voice and shouted to Luffy on the top of the wall:
"Mr.Luffy!How could Zoro be left out like this!He must be locked in a solitary confinement cell!Come down here!"
However, Luffy seemed not to hear.His sharp gaze swept across the interior of the naval base, then suddenly fixed on one direction, his face showing an excited expression of "Found it!"
He leaped down from the wall in a flash, grabbed Koby, and ran in another direction from the base: "This way!It's him!"
The two walked around to the wall in front of the training ground.
Luffy scrambled up the field like a nimble monkey, pointed to the center of the training ground, and said triumphantly to Coby, who was still struggling to climb below, "Look!That's the guy!"
Koby finally managed to climb up the wall, panting, and muttered, "Seriously, how could it be."
As he looked in the direction Luffy was pointing—the next second, his eyes widened instantly, and his mouth opened so wide it could fit an egg!
In the center of the spacious training ground stood a huge wooden cross!And on the cross, a man was tightly bound with thick hemp rope!
He had striking short green hair, as unruly as seaweed.
His upper body was bare, revealing strong, muscular muscles covered with both old and new scars.
His lips were pressed tightly together, and his eyes were sharp as knives.Even though he was bound, he exuded a dangerous aura like a trapped beast.
"It's.it's Roronoa Zoro!"
Koby's voice trembled with disbelief and fear, "He.he's really tied up outside!Is this.is this a public humiliation?"
Luffy, completely oblivious to Coby's fear, stroked his chin, looked at the ropes binding him, and casually remarked:
"Oh?It doesn't look like it's tied very tightly.If we just untie the rope, we can easily let him go, right?"
"Let.let them go?"
Coby nearly fell off the wall.He grabbed Luffy's arm in terror, his voice trembling, "You, you can't say such stupid things!If we let someone like that go.who knows what will happen!"
He's Zoro, the 'Beast'!He'll definitely kill you too!Absolutely!
Luffy grinned, revealing two rows of bright white teeth, and confidently patted his chest: "Don't worry!I'm very strong!"
He silently added in his mind, 'And.it seems even stronger than yesterday!'
Hearing Luffy's almost stubbornly suicidal statement, Coby covered his face in despair: "This guy.is completely beyond saving."
Just then, Zoro on the cross also noticed the commotion on the wall.
He slightly raised his head, his sharp gaze sweeping over the two heads that were pointing and whispering at him, his brow furrowed, his voice low and impatient:
"Hey.you two.huh?You're in the way.Get out of here!"
That icy gaze and undisguised killing intent sent a shiver down Coby's spine.He spoke to Luffy with a tearful voice:
"Mr.Luffy!You see that?If you make a crewmate of someone like that, even if you had several lives, it wouldn't be enough for him to cut you down!"
No sooner had Koby finished speaking than there was a loud crash from the wall next to him.They erected a simple wooden ladder!
A little girl who looked only eight or nine years old, with simple braids and wearing a plain cloth dress, was climbing up with a determination and tension that was beyond her years on her small face.
Koby was startled by the sudden appearance of the little girl: "Huh?Little.little girl?You."
The little girl climbed onto the wall, saw Koby, and immediately put a finger to her lips, nervously shushing him.
She glanced around warily to make sure there were no patrolling naval forces nearby, then quickly tied a thick hemp rope she had brought to the wall and threw the other end into the base.
Then, without hesitation, she grabbed the rope and nimbly slid down, landing steadily on the wasteland in the training ground!
"Danger!Mr.Luffy!Stop her!"
When Coby saw the little girl run straight towards Zoro, he was terrified.Zoro was also terrified, "That child will be killed!Zoro, he."
