Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: A New Beginning

After an indetermined amount of time in the void of darkness, I began to regain awareness of myself.

'I died? Yeah… I must have died. But where am I?' I thought before becoming tired and falling asleep again.

When I woke up once more, I began to notice the environment around me a little better.

'Hmm… if I died, then this can't be hell. There's no fire, sulfur, or demons. It's not heaven either, since there are no angels singing or celebrating. Despite the darkness… and the fact that I can't open my eyes or move much… could this be some kind of transition before judgment?' I kept wondering.

Even though I'm not an atheist nor a follower of any specific religion, I have always believed in the existence of an all-powerful God.

Throughout Earth's history, every country or tribe had some god they believed in. In the Bible there are passages that speak about giants, or the Nephilim, born from the union between the Sons of God (fallen angels) and the daughters of men (human women).

Although several events described in the Bible have some kind of historical or scientific support, there are still many skeptics who do not believe in the occult—at least not until they see something with their own eyes and risk being labeled crazy or paranoid. After all, who believes in something they cannot see and still insists it doesn't exist?

'Well… I didn't commit many sins in my life. If I don't go to hell—if it even exists—that's already good enough. Staying here isn't so bad either. It's warm and comfortable,' I thought to myself as I drifted back to sleep.

This time I woke up feeling the space around me pressing and pushing me. I became frightened, because that had never happened before.

After a long time being squeezed, that place finally managed to push me out.

The first thing I felt was cold.

Very cold.

Right after that, I heard people's voices… but I couldn't understand anything they were saying.

'Didn't I die? Was I taken to some medical center where they're performing experiments on me?' I thought, shocked.

But soon the voices began to fade until everything fell silent for a while.

Then came the pain.

I screamed. I screamed loudly.

That was the moment I started breathing.

'No, wait a minute… why does the sound I'm making look like a baby crying? And why is my vision so blurry? What kind of bizarre experiment did they perform on me? Calm down… stay calm. Be rational. Don't let panic guide your judgment.'

'Let's recap from the beginning.'

'I was running… then some son of a donkey shot me. Up to that point it's fine—well, not really, because I never had any enemies, but maybe they mistook me for someone else.'

'From that point on, things get really strange.'

'Out of the two possibilities I have, these are them:'

'Either I didn't die and was saved by a group of crazy scientists…'

'Or I died, was reborn, and until recently I was inside my mother's womb.'

'If it's the first option… I'm screwed.'

'If it's the second… it's a blessing!'

'Hahaha.'

'Going back in time with the memories of my past life and even having spoilers of what will happen is great.'

'Speaking of that… I'm hungry. Since they took me out of there, they better give me something to eat soon or I'm going to cry, hahaha.'

'Just wait, bastard who killed me. I'll find out the reason… and you will suffer in my hands. Hmph.'

'Come to think of it… why can't I understand what these people are saying if my memories are still intact?'

'And I'll have to go through this humiliation again? Pooping and peeing myself… just thinking about it already makes me sad.'

'Well… there's no point thinking too much about it now,' I thought as I drifted back to sleep.
